DJ Corey was great!!! My husband and I weren't that big on music so we felt kind of lost when it came to picking out songs for our wedding. But when we had our first meeting with Corey, he REALLY put our minds at ease. It really wasn't as complicated as I thought! He just asked us what kind of music we were into and told us that we could send him a list of songs that we do want to have played, and he would take care of the rest. On the day of the wedding, we were VERY happy with the selection. The only thing I wasn't THAT happy with was that he played "Love and Marriage" from Married with Children when we first down at reception. I like the show a lot but it just threw me off guard. So not only is Corey awesome at DJing, but he also did a great job helping out our photographers in coordinating pictures. He would be on the mic telling people to get together in one section, for example. And he did a great job announcing when the different events started, etc. Overall, we loved Corey and he has such great energy and always puts a smile on your face. read more

At two different functions I attended recently, the music provided was handled exclusively by Gumbo. The harmonies selected were a nouveau hybrid of old school soul, current pop music, and a few tried-and-true classics. Gladys Knight may have made a cameo, too. At both events (one party, one wedding), the dance floor was filled with lively souls, slow dancing to melodic ballads, or gyrating to faster rhythms. Even those sitting at tables couldn't help but tap their feet to the strains of the music. Like a traditional gumbo, these DJs take various compositions and make a phonic feast for the spirit. My husband and I are big music lovers and we wanted our wedding reception to be a party, so picking a DJ was a daunting task for us, it didn't help that my husband DJ'd through college and still does as a favor for close friends. Gumbo Entertainment was the absolute BEST DJ for our wedding this past September. Todd was EXTREMELY professional, responsive, kind and truly listened to all of our requirements. I have to admit I was extremely picky on a DJ. We wanted someone who not only brought the crowd together but listened when we said no cheesy music. Gumbo Entertainment are superb DJs! Todd has been Djing for our Best Buddies dances 3 years in a row now and we all love him. At our Best Buddies dances, we have special ed. and general ed. students plus many adults. He is great - very interactive with everyone and all the kids got some prizes. He got almost all the kids (and even some adults) up to his music - modern, oldies, Latin music, Cha Cha slide, limbo, you name it! When he was done, the kids were all happy and sad that he was done.
