He gave me the number of "Flo" his rental agent. I told her I had a little over a month to find a place but if we found one I would take it just for the peace of mind. In the 5 or 6 week period "Flo" contacted one, 1 time to see a place which fell thru and EVERY SINGLE TIME I had to contact her to remind her that it was getting close to my lease deadline. MAJOR LACK OF COMMUNICATION and ABSOLUTELY NO REGARD for the client WHO IS PAYING YOU A MONTHS RENT. I know it wasn't because of a lack of available rentals because as I was looking on various rental apps I've seen her contact info pop up several times leaving to wonder why I haven't gotten a call. He and Robert Bryan came by to check out the place and immediately struck us as honest, hardworking guys with lots of personality. Our cat also approved, so we decided to give them the listing. We got an above asking, all cash offer about two weeks in and were ready to close. Robert, being the scrupulous and well informed gentleman that he is, caught that we hadn't owned it long enough to avoid paying capital gains tax, so dissuaded us from the deal, instead encouraging us to wait. In this type of market it is VERY rare to have anyone remotely involved in your deal not pushing you to close as quick as you can - I'm sure it was difficult for Robert and Arny to walk away from a sure thing, but they did have our best interests at heart. We relisted with them with the intention of buying another place. They quickly got another (much higher) all cash offer that unfortunately didn't pan out, but that didn't stop them from tirelessly showing us open houses in the far corners of Brooklyn every single weekend of the past cold winter. Sure enough, another offer came in that they negotiated up close to asking from a lowball initial offer and we got into contract. We closed yesterday. This was after I paid the fee and spent two nights in the rental which didn't have hot water and the electricity was damaged. (According to the electrician who came out on the third day) The lights flickered on and off the first night until the power box spent sparks. We were left without power and hot water. The owner came out with the electrician to discover that the burned wires were painted over to disguise the damage. The owner said to me that Exit Realty supplied the inspection and passed it. The electrician told me that we are in a very dangerous situation. I contacted Exit Realty and the agent (Leonard simometti) responded with "f**k you" and hung up. Yes he did rip us off. Exit Realty took our money and gave nothing but rude unprofessional behavior. Don't use Exit Realty and please don't get cheated by Leonard simonetti. He will gladly take your money and gladly curse you out for wanting what you paid for
