Also, both times I've been, the shelves are half empty. Maybe the store is too big? But it just looks..half done? It looked like this when I went last year and figured, "Okay, they just opened recently. Maybe it will take a little more time to stock up." But it looked identical the other day. However, it's close by so it is convenient for me if I need something quick or procrastinated and need gas now. But more than a few times I've gone in there looking for something and left and went to a different Cumberland farms.

Sometimes WINZZ even competes to be the lowest gas prices around (were featured on a news station a couple years back) but don't always have to be as they are your first stop off the highway. All-in-all there is no room for improvement here. They have some cool and unique here. Especially with all the Cumberland Farms popping up in the area.

You'll find them tucked away pretty much out of view inside the Artsplace building (493 W Main) within the Ball and Socket Art Complex in Cheshire. They've been cranking out homemade ice cream since 1988, and we had a stellar experience when we visited. They have plenty of ice cream flavors (including some nonfat and sugar free), plus yogurts, sorbets and ices. Some of their interesting flavors are Claude's Cupcake, Dough - Si -Dough, Salty Pretzel, Smurf, and a "Banana Corner" which is a rotating selection of banana-based ice cream. How cool! I went with a 2-flavor small dish of Salty Pretzel and Triple Chocolate. The ice cream was smooth as silk and full of flavor. Seriously, their ice cream is terrific, and at $5.35 for a big enough cup, was a very fair value. PRO TIP Because Sweet Claude's is in the Ball and Socket Art Complex there are many sections within the complex to park your car. But only park in front of Sweet Claude's if you plan on staying there for no more than a half hour. Visitors to the rest of the complex or the Farmington River Trail should leave those precious spots to the ice cream afficionados!

The poor stepsister of Cumby's stores in Bristol, it has not been renovated in many years. Investment in permanent repairs non-existent, contractors return repeatedly to apply band-aid fixes only.
