We went to watch the Kansas City Chiefs Game this past Sunday. Little did we know they only have the NFL Red Zone. If you don't know what that is as we didn't, I'll explain. The Red Zone is when the ball is within the "Red Zone", or twenty yards from the goal. So you are only seeing football teams that have the ball in the Red Zone. Who in their right mind thought this package was good for a sports bar! This is the last time we will bother with this restaurant bar. The staff was clueless about the Red Zone and our pore server of three days was randomly changing channels on the TV's. Unfortunately we had already ordered some eggs rolls so we had to stick around. The Southwest Eggs Rolls were just ok. The manager did give us a discount on our food. Also the floor was so sticky that my flip flops stuck to the floor and made a sound every time I walked. We left and went over to the Hard Rock to have lunch, drinks and football!

Every single moment was spot on and made the whole evening an experience. Lighting is low and romantic. Our server, Chris, was amazing and attentive. The food was delicious. They do have a dress code. It's upscale without being stuffy. Our fave! They have a nice wine and cocktail list, plus there are wine bottle specials. A fantastic warm bread was brought out to start. It's an egg and onion loaf made exclusively for Morton's...so yummy! We shared our whole meal, so the portions in the pics are half. We had a wedge salad, lobster bisque, bone in ribeye, and creamed spinach...WOW to every part of our perfectly seasoned meal! Morton's is now on our list of favorite steakhouses. The place looks fantastic, I wish I food backed up the look. Their menu does specifically say if you don't like something you still get charged full price for what you ordered. We have an overabundance of Mexican food places down here, but this one stands out with some unique menu items. They bring you free chips and salsa, but also include a small bowl of warmed refried beans. The beans really set off the chips, which is good because the salsa was mostly liquified and had no real substance to stick to the chip. Our frozen margaritas were fantastic and they didn't skimp on the tequila, so plan to hang out a bit if you get a medium one. For dinner, I ordered the Plato Pedros off the "From the grill" section of the menu because it listed six different things. I honestly though it was a typo on the menu but when I ordered it the waiter said "OK" and put it in. When the food came out, it was literally two plates worth of stuff - see the photo here. I brought some home because it's enough for two, and only cost $20.99. My wife got the shrimp fajita bowl and really enjoyed hers. The inside is very bright and they have lots of space, plus a large outdoor seating area. My only complaint was the music was very loud. There are few carpets or soft areas so the acoustics are quite shrill and when they came out to sing happy birthday to a nearby table, it hurt my ears. I'll admit I have been reluctant to try this new location inside a remodeled TGI Fridays because I'd gotten bad service so many times at their D'Iberville location that I'd sworn them off. My recent experience more than made up for it, and I will definitely be back.
