Onion Soup Gratine. Tasted great!
Nataliya Z.

Tonight we came back for dinner to our favorite restaurant at its new location. It is absolutely the best French restaurant in Florida. Everything is outstanding and authentic: the exceptional cuisine, the welcoming and personal service and the charming ambiance. I highly recommend!

Creme brulee!

I love this incarnation of Gulf Bistro!! They're in the old Cafe Largo spot. The food is superb! We had the beet carpaccio which was lovely and delicious! Then we had the halibut/scallop special served with yellow rice and sauteed green beans and asparagus. The sauce was wonderful with savory bits of mushrooms, peppers and olives and garlic!! Yum!! For dessert we had a perfect creme brulee and profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Every thing was superb!!!

Filet mignon

The food quality and seasoning is 5 star quality. The sauces are great. However, the portions are almost child like. Based on portion size it is 3 star. The filet mignon and salmon were ok sized and really well seasoned. But the potato medallions and veg portions were so small it almost looked like leftovers. Really cheap of the restaurant unless they just screwed us for getting take out on New Years. It's a shame because the owner/chef seemed really nice and the food is good. But the portions are pathetically small.

Duck confit- not my favorite

The service was great and the owner was very friendly, walking around chatting with guests. The food was mostly amazing. Intimate setting.

Lobster Bisque

The best fine dining in Madeira beach, possibly even in all of Pinellas county. Food: Lobster bisque - I've eaten a lot of lobster bisque but I think this may be my favorite so far. Creamy and decadent with great flavor. The lobster chunks were perfectly cooked and as tender as butter. House salad w/ house dressing - the house dressing is so incredible! I only wish it was a bigger serving so I could've eaten more of it. Duck confit special - the rich balsamic port sauce paired perfectly with the tender, crispy duck. I had to stop myself from eating everything so I could save room for dessert. Crème brûlée - I finished off dinner with a favorite. The sugar was perfectly caramelized and the custard was wonderfully balanced. I sampled the chocolate mousse too which was delicious but very rich. Ambiance: The space is small and intimate but feels homey with beautiful decor. I loved that they have such unique and pretty plates. Every dish was beautifully presented. Service: Excellent service. The staff very clearly loves what they do and take pride in the restaurant. We'll be back soon!

The food is incredibly good...pleasing to both the eye and the pallet...the French sauces prepared by the chef to flavor the seafood dishes are the best I have ever sampled during a lifetime in pursuit of fine French dining... This was our second time dining here. We were accompanied by our close friends visiting from Atlanta to celebrate their 47th anniversary...they enjoyed the selection of this restaurant as much as we do...

Duck confit with pack and walnut sauce

I give very few five star ratings, but this lovely restaurant nestled in an area full of restaurants serving fried seafood, pizza and fast food is fully deserving of recognition. This is a small place with 15-20 tables run by a husband and wife. The husband is in the back running the kitchen and the wife takes on all of the duties in the front of the house. She is charmingly friendly, welcoming and very efficient. The chef came out and visited tables and spent time with valued returning customers as well as us first timers. If you want a quick bite, i'd go elsewhere. But if you want to take the time to enjoy a meal prepared with care and attention to detail this is a great choice. Four of us dined together. My wife and I shared the country pate appetizer which was served with spicy mustard and small pickles. Our friends shared the lobster bisque appetizer. These were both accompanied with warm sliced baguette. A small salad dressed with oil and vinegar came with our entrees. Two of us had the confit de canard (duck confit) served with a peach and walnut sauce which complimented the richness of the duck. This was accompanied with some lightly cooked vegetables and a very nice puck of gratineed potatoes (thinly sliced potatoes cooked with butter and cream). The entree was well balanced, perfectly seasoned and very satisfying. My wife had a pork tenderloin dish. This was served as rounds of tenderloin topped with a slice of Brie and a berry sauce. Vegetables and potatoes as above. The slightly sweet, fruity sauce was a nice counterpoint to the lean pork and rich cheese. The fourth diner had a veal dish which she liked very much, but which I didn't get a good look at from across the table. I think it came with similar sides. For dessert our friends had the special pineapple upside-down cake which given the speed with which it disappeared must have been quite good. My wife and I shared the nougat glace...a frozen connection that was not too sweet but hit just the right spot to be a perfect dessert. We shared a couple of bottles of one of their featured wine specials which proved to be very drinkable and a very reasonable value. If you are in the areas and want a meal that really stands out from other local offerings you can't go wrong here This is a small place, so reservations are recommended especially during busy seasons.

The exterior isn't very impressive. Food was great. Interior decorations provides cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed our time there.

Our server, Val, brought us a round of waters and menus, and we ordered some appetizers. We started off enjoying the peel & eat shrimp and coconut shrimp appetizers. Both were delicious. The peel and eat were large "reds" and coconut shrimp was nicely breaded, and crispy. For our entrées, we enjoyed two portions of grouper. Both were prepared with Cajun seasoning, which was very light and flavorful. We enjoyed steamed broccoli with each entrée. Parking is available out front as well as in front of the Paris café

Even though we're in our early 60's it seemed like we were the youngest people there. The server was awesome and waited on us immediately. They have a decent selection of beers and a full bar. They state that all of their drinks are made: "with a wine base liquor is a fermented beverage flavored to mimic the taste of a traditional distilled spirit". Sounded intereting but wasn't willing to spend the money to just try it. I did try the Grouper Philly sandwich which was very good. I'm always on a quest to try Grouper served a different way and they did a great job. My wife ordered the Grouper Rueben and also liked it very much. We both ordered hush puppies and would agree with a another reviewer that they had good flavor but were very dense. All in all not a bad place and my only reason for not doing 5 stars is the back bar was super small and I felt like our neighbors were sitting super close. Despite that we'd go back and try the front dining room. Good food.

Welton Brewing Co & Oyster Bar - Maine oystahs!

Pleasant Surprise finding Welton! And when I say surprise, I mean surprise - found it on Yelp but…read moreyou're not going to see it from the road. The restaurant is located behind the German club on 66th Street, a second business in the German club parking lot! Apparently, the family that has his place is from Maine and they got a lot of success brewing beer. That's success led them to start the restaurant serving seafood from a family business in Maine. We started off with a bowl of New England clam chowder and a dozen oysters. To what are whistles we got a glass of their tap Chardonnay and a beer. My wife's Chardonnay was ridiculously good! But nothing could beat those oysters - sweet with a little bit of brine, and very fresh. For dinner we got a lobster roll - they come hot or cold, with the hot coming with melted butter. We also got the fried haddock roll.... Wow! Both were fantastic! I know we overdid it with dinner.... We even got an order of the whole belly clams. I didn't think anyone in Florida served those down here! Absolutely ridiculous . In short, we had fantastic dinner and terrific beverages. I really recommend you at least try to find the place - we almost didn't go in because of its awkward location and the fact that no cars were outside. We saw the place was open and decided to have a appetizer because the Yelp review was so strong, and I'm glad we did! I told the two people there they should park their cars nearby so patrons would see them..... Anyway, I'm going back again, but this time I'm bringing friends!

I was sad they didnt have chowder so next time I'll try that and the maine lobster roll. Oysters are from Maine and they were spot on. They do an oyster special on Thursdays and Ill be back for that! Great selection of beers - they brew in house and have some other local ones. They also do flights which is great. Caylen was our server and he was great and knowledgeable. There's also ton of parking in the back. If you like good beers and maine style seafood this spot is for you!

My Mom is not easily impressed, my brother is a pescatarian, and a close friend's wife only eats salads. Well, everyone was very happy with our meal and dining experience! Dad and I both really enjoyed the Tave Kosi, traditional lamb with yogurt, eggs and rice cooked in a pastry shell. The Oda's Meze appetizer platter served about 10 of us, and was fantastic!! They brought us a baklava platter to celebrate my Dad's 86th birthday, and that was very tasty, just right. Our server was excellent, and very friendly!! I can't wait to come back again.

The ambiance was nicer than expected from previous reviews in the Times and Belleaire Bee. My branzino was perfectly cooked & delicious. My dining partners enjoyed the lamb shank and seafood pasta dish. The stuffed pasta pillows was a delicious appetizer. The squid appetizer was not so appealing. The issues that would preclude our return until resolved are related to lack of service. With a nearly full restaurant, just the owner and his wife took orders and served food. Refills on water had to be requested repeatedly. As more patrons arrived, it was evident that they waited longer than is acceptable to have orders taken & food served. With another server or two, this restaurant will be a genuine neighborhood gem for locals. Prices are reasonable and the food perfectly prepared and delicious.
