    String section
    Cory E.

I was in here midday on a Monday and this place was pretty deserted. They were plenty staffed up as I saw at least 10 workers standing around chatting with each other. I walked past most of them without any real contact and wandered over to the strings. I knew what I needed but I was browsing and an employee approached to check in and I thought to see what his opinion would be on the subject. He was hesitant and unsure of himself in giving an answer so I wasn't all that impressed and went with my own choice. I meandered around the store briefly. It's clean, well spaced, and the music was playing at a reasonable level. I've been to other stores that make me feel like I'm standing next to a wall of speakers on full tilt. I was left alone after my brief encounter and was able to browse through several sections before taking off. I can't say I was let down or blown away by the visit, so 3 stars is probably fair enough. It's definitely a nice, new and clean store right off the highway so it's convenient for a quick run for supplies or to check out some new equipment.

I would say that the value of lessons are sometimes a little pricey, but definitely worth it! so, if you ever feel that this, School of Rock is not worth your money or time, don't knock it until you try it.

This is an honest review as a client of School of Rock from December 2023 - October 2024 and why I…read morewould never recommend this as a place for your child. My daughter was quickly praised for her talent and we started taking multiple lessons. She was invited to house band which is their second to highest performing band for their most talented students. She was going to lessons or rehearsals 3 times a week and was thoroughly enjoying having an outlet for her music, performing, making friends and continuing to learn. There were multiple times she was upset by one of her "friends" at the school and became miserable about something one of them said or did. She left her lesson early once because she was so upset by the way the other house band members were reacting to something. I trusted in the school's ability to handle it and overall she was enjoying it. She asked to be taken to school early several times because she enjoyed talking with Alan, the musical director and Adrian, the general manager. They were like father figures to her. Bonus since she has no living father. She spent time sharing concerns with them and always felt better. Fast forward. October 5 of this year, there was an event for house band. She had a GREAT first set, parents commented to me how well she was doing with her crowd work and her playing and vocals. During the intermission period, her friend, another guitarist with house band, said let me talk to you. In hindsight, I knew at that moment there was going to be drama. My daughter was instantly upset and felt betrayed by what had been communicated to her. I observed a group of 3 teenagers laughing and talking and looking at her while avoiding any eye contact with me. My child was visibly upset and we ended up leaving the show early. I expressed my disappointment at the time with how it was handled. No effort was made to de escalate or address why this particular conversation needed to happen during the show when the guitarist that spoke to her really wanted to sing a song my daughter was supposed to sing. This is not the first time this particular girl tried to get into my daughter's head. Remember I said she confided in the two managers frequently? Subseequently, I had a meeting with Adrian over the phone to discuss what actions had been taken to mitigate this situation so that my daughter and every other student would feel safe. I was told the following things: we were oblivious to this situation, this was the first we heard of it, we couldn't react because the civic club asked us to be there and we had too much going on, its October and we have told the kids all month not to bully, we can't talk to the kids about it because it's something that happened at school of rock but is not part of school of rock. Finally I was informed that while my daughter was furious because of what had happened yet again, she allegedly told a kid to shut the f up and other parents heard it and the sheriff heard it so she's kicked out of house band. So my concerns were illegitimate and nothing could be done, but other parents complained and their concerns are valid so my child was the only one facing a consequence. They don't care about people, they only care about their bottom line. I would recommend any other music school over one where bullying is tolerated and if someone is greatly upset by it, they will be punished. The staff, with the exception of Rebecca at the front desk, is quite frankly incompetent and should not be working with teenagers as they sorely lack leadership and de-escalation skills. Stay far away.

It's tucked away a bit from the busy road, but you shouldn't have any problems. The parking lot was small. I visited on a Sunday afternoon so my car was the only car in the parking lot, but I was still thinking, "I better park in a way that I can easily backup or get out with my big SUV." The front door to the business was locked and you have to ring the doorbell. My first impression was, "it is wall-to-wall pianos. It was tight. There really was barely enough room to walk down the "aisle". Think of it as, if you're sitting at one of the pianos, people would have to jump over you like Super Marios Bros. style to get to the other side. They have more than one building and the other building wasn't as "tight". Our salesman, Larry, was quite knowledgeable. He asked us questions such as what we needed, price range, size, etc. He had us play on various pianos and explained to us the intricate details about each piano. Does Larry know pianos? Yes. Is Larry a salesman? Yes. We were in the market for a used piano, but they really didn't have used baby grands. Most of the used pianos were uprights. In the end, Larry helped us narrow our choices down to 3 pianos. Of course, the one that sounded the best was also the most expensive. In the end, we had to think about it. It is a big purchase and one that takes up a lot of physical space in your home so I urge everyone to sleep on this decision. What I appreciated about HPC is that they are knowledgeable about pianos. What I didn't appreciate was the fact they didn't tell me that the fancy piano I almost bought was not actually "German-made". It's made in China. Nothing wrong about Made in China, but if I'm spending this amount of money, I would like to know all the details. In the end, we decided to keep looking. Final verdict: I would not buy a piano from here.

No flexibility provided - their policy says rescheduling is no guarantee and at discretion. We didn't get any. Their price point was high compared with local levels, it seems that their fee needs to be taken out before paying the teacher. My questions and later complaints were ignored, and upon repeated requests to cancel my subscription, they still charged me to the point of their response, not when I asked for it.
