Their staff is a bit nurdy and antisocial, but they know their job. Good shop. Excellent supplies. Solid service.

“My wife needed her violin bow re-haired; we think that bow bugs got to it (she hadn't played for about 9 months).”

Best store in Houston and they have a good luthier. C'est la place pour trouver des guitares vintages à Houston. Il y a beaucoup de belle guitares acoustiques et électriques et les employés sont cool. Meilleur magasin de guitares dans la ville de Houston.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere communicates, "If you're not ready to buy, then get out." Every. Single. Guitar. has a placard tucked between the strings that says something like "Ask for Help," and there's a salesman posted up in every zone who feels more like a bouncer than someone there to help. What if I want to pick up 8-10 different guitars, gently strum them, and find one I just can't live without? That's never going to happen if I have to ask permission to pick up every single one. That's absurd. If you want to be a museum, then be a museum. I get that you don't want to be Guitar Center, where 5,000 kids a day put their little pizza-grease fingers on every guitar and crank the amps until you can't hear your own thoughts. I totally get it. But you need to find a balance somewhere in the middle. Most customers in this market are grown men who have no intention of mistreating your precious inventory. Sure, keep the vintage relics out of reach of actual schoolchildren, but find a way to make customers feel welcome and let them explore a few guitars without a salesman breathing down their neck. But also you can do what you want and I know I'm not entitled to your store being the way I want. Hence the disclaimer at the beginning. Either way I wish ya'll many more years of selling music equipment and spreading the life changing thing that is making music.

This is by far, the BEST Steinway Piano only shop in Houston, Texas…read more I went there this afternoon to check it out and I was greeted with a warm welcome from Scott, my salesman. He was very helpful, enthusiastic, and opened to my questions. What is a plus is that he's been in the piano dealing business for nearly 20 years and know quite a lot about the other competitor brands. What I like about this place is that it's quiet, clean, and just makes me feel at home, that's the way every piano shop should be. Scott is also kind enough to give me advice and several helpful brochures about purchasing a Steinway Piano. I am pleased to shop here and hopefully I can buy a piano there in the near future. If anyone in Houston has a taste for Steinway Pianos and cannot find one in your regular piano shop, come over to Steinway Piano Gallery in the heart of River Oaks Community..You will not be disappointed!

It's understandable to a certain degree, these are elegant instruments worth a hundred grand easy, but wow. I was met with hostility from a staff member upon entering. I came in expecting to spend some time with some beautiful pianos and get to experience playing and trying some out, but was constantly berated by a particular staff member who was actively trying to get me to stop playing the pianos, asking me if I had an appointment and verbally telling me to stop playing for a minute. He then insulted my financial status by suggesting something in a lower price range. Eventually he came up with some story "We have appointments with customers in the next 5 minutes, so if you could wrap it up here, that would be great." He interrupted my playing numerous times and slyly kicked me out of the store and was a complete asshat! People like this make the world of music less enjoyable for all. Music is meant to be spread and rejoiced by everyone, not gatekeeped by snobs. The one star in this review is for the pianos only. It truly is tragic that these beautiful instruments must sit under the same roof as these rotten people.

I looked around and this place seemed good so I called for information and got a call back super quick. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful... and optimistic. Haha... The place is tucked in a neighborhood down a small street, but it has a private parking lot. There are 4 lessons a month billed monthly. I wasn't sure what to expect with my daughter being the unknown variable because of her age, but the teacher was professional and nice. However, my nugget stopped being excited as soon as she learned she couldn't just "play" freestyle and had to listen to an adult. So, even though kids as young as 4 can start one-on-one lessons... it's up to the individual. Definitely not for mine. We decided to stay but switched over to a group music class geared for toddlers - they have 2, one for 3 and the other for 4 year olds where they learn music basics while having fun. They let us take free trial classes of both until we could decide. My nugget's in the 3 year old one because she never had classroom experience before and she seems to enjoy it - definitely more than the one-on-one lesson, for sure. If she's still interested in a few years, we'll revisit piano but for now, the group lessons are good. The classes are not exactly "cheap", but it is as expected. The teachers are all knowledgeable and engaging, though I feel bad sometimes. My nugget is free spirited and... wild if she's in the mood. The group classes have gotten larger, which is noticeable since they're in a small room, but attendance fluctuates. So far, it isn't a huge cause for concern - what with the pandemic and all. Overall, I will definitely look here for music lesson needs and we are pretty happy so far.
