Staff is not knowledgeable about most gear... took Japanese Ibanez in and lady wouldn't even look into it because it had a sticker, i removed the sticker and still she wouldn't even look it up... A half-trained eye would of recognized right away. Took to pawnshop on 45th and got 500 right away. Had similar experience with collector amps as well. Wouldn't recommend taking gear here much less buy something, they don't know what they're doing. Shop online save yourself the heart ache. Old staff was great... Not the case anymore shop online and for lessons and repair go local, they just want commission here. read more

New and used guitars and accessories as well as other musical instruments. I have worked with both stores in Texas, Amarillo and Lubbock. For each store, each time I went there, I was treated with kind, friendly and respectful service. The sales staff is very knowledgeable about the products they sell. I also spoke with the Lessons Lead about guitar lessons in the Amarillo store. The instructor is very knowledgeable and I am looking forward to my first lesson this weekend. If you go to Guitar Center without hesitation ask for Tad. Professional, courteous, honest, and has the type of personality that makes you feel as if you've known him for like 30 plus years. Not only can he sell you musical equipment but he can also produce your album for you. One thing though, he possesses an irresistible "over the glasses look" sales technique that resulted in me and my family being the proud owners of about $3000 of musical equipment. This place is pretty cool considering there is pretty much no other competition nearby. Two of my friends work there but I went there on an evening when they weren't working and asked the manager, Mike, to appraise my electric guitar. We chatted it up and he even gave me some tips at playing. He was super nice and personable. We had a problem with the jack on the guitar and Mike and Shane fixed my guitar up for free. They worked on it for about 15 minutes and were really informative and super nice about it. They even stayed to help after it was closing time. read more

I have to review based on service. I needed a foot pedal for a keyboard quickly. I called and surprisingly they had it. I asked them to put it back for me. The next day I went to buy it. No one knew where it was, but eventually they found it. When I got to the car I looked in the box and clearly it has been used--a lot. No paperwork in the box. I took it back in, returned it, but it was the last one. I told them how desperate I was for this thing. Guys there had no advice or help for me. Basically told me good luck. I went out to my car, did some searching on the internet. Ended up calling the Guitar Center in Lubbock. The person over the phone there was extremely helpful. Had the product and offered to overnight it to the Amarillo store. And he did. Went back to Amarillo store the next day, took them awhile to find it still in the box it was shipped in. But I finally got my foot pedal in time for the performance. I would shop in the Lubbock store. Those people were awesome. They gave me more help over the phone than I got in 3 in person visits to the Amarillo store. I think because they have no competition in Amarillo they don't care about service. read more

I went there a few times, I knew what I wanted but I stood there while a clerk was just piddling around and ignored me. The employees did not seem to be busy so I didn't know why I couldn't make my purchase.I do not recommend this place as there are other music stores here. read more
