Reasonably priced- especially considering the absolute sheer size, and amount of filling crammed in to these babies (and then topped too, for good measure)- definitely not diet friendly- I reckon the pennies per calorie is very low! I believe this is the original site- and they have a shop in Telford too- I have never been to this one without their being a queue outside- There's plenty of kinder and bueno based options- pimped up jammy classics, and a heck of a lot with chocolate. Their key lime pie/bueno/mango and raspberry/ 99/ pecan crunch/ Reeses/ churro and any of theirs with lemon... I could go on. Canadians (and some Americans) will no doubt jump for joy when they see their coffee institution in the UK. The oddest thing is that Tim Horton's of Canada (Tim Horton was an ice hockey player) is in the Spar shop. In Canada, I guess it's not the coolest place to go but I care more about the coffee tasting good. And like in Canada, it's cheaper than anywhere else and yet famously, they brew new coffee every 20 minutes which in my mind is pretty fresh. Let's not forget their bagels and doughnut treats too; Over the Atlantic there are many varieties to get addicted to but here in Birmingham, there is still a decent selection. Yes, the store serves gorgeous smelling and tasting, freshly made donuts, but this is only part of the story as far as I'm concerned. The shop is TINY and there's only room for a few people in there at a time. I suggest grabbing a menu outside and then deciding before you make it inside. One thing you should plan ahead for is a place to sit if you choose not to walk and eat. Unfortunately, the Alternative Tuck Shop doesn't have any seating indoors or outdoors. Inside the tight quarters, the choices were well marked so ordering and payment was easy enough. After ordering they bring it out to you back outside. The street wasn't busy so people spilled out to the street. I can how this is probably both a student and tourist haven.
