What's great about Dr. C & Nancy is the team they deliberately built around them. It feels like family, and I mean that in the sense of the "traditional families" God gave each of us and the "non-traditional families" we tend to build around us. In particular, I need to praise Tasha, who has cleaned my teeth for years. Here are a few words to describe Tasha: competent, proactive, kind, and warm...bottom line is she cares about her clients. Next, I need to praise Teena, the office manager. She is the last person you see on your way out the door. Teena promotes goodwill in everything she does, advocating for each client. Teena & Tasha are two of the threads woven into the cloth that is Modern Family Dentistry. There seem to be many other good people here; I just talked about the two I interact with regularly. My mouth is so sensitive that I have had horrible experiences with ever dentist I have been to. I don't get numb enough so when they start drilling it is very painful. Also, I will feel pain for a week just from the numbing shots. It scares me so much that I put off going despite the severe tooth pain i was experiencing. One day it got so bad I could not stand it any longer. I called into this office because it was the closest to my house and luckily I was able to get a same day apt. I was so scared I brought my husband with me for support. The lady at the front desk greeted me by name and I was brought right back to a chair. Grace talked me through everything and made me very comfortable. I explained to her my bad experiences in the past and how scared I was. She went above and beyond to make me comfortable and offered me nitrous, which I gladly accepted after finding out I would need a root canal. The lady who had to give me multiple numbing shots had a special trick that made them completely painless, even one on the roof of my mouth. The dentist was the nicest one I have ever met. He walked me through the entire thing. I was completely at ease. It went by so quick and painlessly. I have hear horrible stories about root canals and how painful they are but this one was easier than any cavity filling I have had. I cannot even explain how relieved I am to have found Modern Family Dentistry and how comfortable I am to go back for future dental work.

My son and his whole family see Dr. Horecky and have bragged to me for years how happy they have been with his care. Dr. Horecky and a super nice assistant made a special trip into the office to help me. They were able to remove the remaining tooth structure and get me immediate relief from the discomfort. His technique and style was definitely 5 Star and after 45 years of Dental practice, I know good care! To top it all, they made room for me to come in the following Monday to make me a temporary replacement to get me through the remainder of my trip. I couldn't recommend a Dental office more highly! The staff are so friendly, and Dr. H is super down to earth. Amanda is my hygienist, and she is phenomenal. Even though she only sees me twice a year (normally), she remembers who I am and what is going on. She also never tries to ask me questions while her hands are in my mouth, which is awesome. She gives a great cleaning without supplying a bleeding mouth to go along with it. Dr. H has done some filling replacements (out with the metal and in with new pearly whites) and I have always been thrilled with his work! They were very kind about my ridiculous fear of needles and took it at my own pace during the procedures. He also filed one of my front teeth down to make it straighter (it wasn't much, but it makes a huge difference in my smile confidence)! If your allergic to dogs, be careful. They do have an office dog (Molly) and now an office fish (Ollie), but both are well behaved (and adorable)! The office is always squeaky clean, they have fresh coffee, and they often have drawings for cute gift baskets! VISIT THEM!

I was told that I needed 2 crowns and a filling. I underwent the initial crown on my tooth about 3 years ago and it did fine for a year, but then it started causing severe pain. I returned to the office for evaluation, but they could not figure out why it was hurting, and so I lived with the pain and not being able to chew on one side of my mouth for over a year. Finally, one day the crown just fell off. It was obviously loose which is why it was hurting for a year. In the interim, I had the second crown and the filling performed about 2 years ago. The second crown color did not match my teeth. I was surprised the the dentist who performed it, either did not catch it at the time, or just decided not to fix it at the time. When I looked in the mirror at the office and clearly noticed the poor matching of the color, the dentist said that to fix it, I could whiten the other teeth so it would match better. However, instead of offering to perform an in-office professional whiting to correct the mistake, she gave me an over the counter product, and then charged me an additional $60 for it. I was dismayed to be paying additional money to correct her mistake. Unfortunately, the filling that was performed at the same time, was sensitive from the day it was performed. I returned that very day to let her know that it did not feel right and was told the sensitivity should resolve with time. I even returned and a different dentist there who also tried to fix it, but the sensitivity never went away. I also had difficulty flossing at that tooth and so I continued to mention it at subsequent cleanings and visits over the course of a year. Dr. Ryan finally performed a revision filling, but it was worse and more sensitive afterwards. No one ever called or checked to see if the symptoms had improved, and by that point, I was not returning to that practice. I then went to another dentistry practice. They revised both the crown that fell off and the filling that was chronically sensitive. I am finally pain free without sensitivy for the first time in almost 2 years. I probably wouldn't have written this except that recently I was sent a bill from Kari Ryan Dentistry. The bill was texted to me of a general nature without specifying what it was for. I texted back that my recent visit for the filling was a revision and Dr. Ryan said that I would not be billed or charged for it. I continued to get the bill and so I called and told them the same. I expected it would be taken care of. However, I continued to get texts and bills without any specific information of what it was for, and now it was overdue. I called again and spoke with the manager and asked what it was for and why I kept getting it. She said that it was a bill from my initial crown that they performed 3 YEARS ago and that they had just forgotten to bill it at the time. This made no sense, but I paid it just to get rid of it. That was the final straw.

Lots of activity at times here, but thankfully I was only in for the usual cleaning. But, sigh, they convinced me (after multiple times of talking to me) to go ahead and get a crown in the right side as it has a large filling from my early years and, yes, the size and the fracture line in it necessitates having the work done. He has done one other crown and for a guy like me that detests needles (and thus dental work), it was about as painless as you could ever dream that it should be.

I don't know what we would have done if Dr. Fleming didn't make himself available to help us out in a really crappy and weird situation.
