1 star because there is no negative star rating. My wife and I have different first names. We have different bank account numbers. They could not match the check to the title company after I pointed out the date and number in my statement. After several exchanges where they couldn't find this, my wife called. Turns out, they were looking at her statement for the check, although the cancelled check had ONLY my name and my account number on it. You really can't fix that level of gross incompetence. Further, this is only one of these sorts of stories! After Jordan pulled his disappearing act for the I-don't-know- how-manyeth-time, I remarked to my wife that I only heard this many BS excuses when I taught college. Perhaps he asked for the same document several times because his dog ate his email. I half expected that to be one such excuse. They told us to hold off on the structural engineer, which has caused us weeks of delay. This should have been done immediately, as it was a VA provision. There was no mention of conversion to real property, which has to be done and may take 4 weeks. This was also a VA provision. They had the paperwork for this. Not only did they not do it, they said to hold off! My new mortgage company picked this up immediately and started the process. While there's no way to make up for the months delay Guild caused, we are on the right track working with a professional mortgage company. I don't know if this applies to all mortgages Guild attempts, but they are totally clueless when it comes to VA. I don't think they have ever done one before. Fired them for incompetence. If there was even a chance they could pull this off, I *may* have let them complete it. I also know that after 4 weeks of doing nothing, they wanted 3 more. Amcap won't even need that long. An estimated time line for Guild to complete a mortgage is roughly 12 weeks. This is based on them losing/forgetting/obliviousness/etc. Remember you can shop around and you can change companies. I'm big on second chances and gave them more than that. That was my fault for letting them get away with it. So Guild delayed our mortgage and there is nothing we can do about that. I can only warn others to stay away. If I can save 1 from losing their property or prevent months of needless delays for them, I will fell better about it. If you have anything with Guild Mortgage in Longview, you are already behind. Prepare for months of needless delays and the highest rate you can be charged. read more
