Portobello fries and house wine! ‍

Super chill vibe: Great bar atmosphere, delicious late night food, great company. Just visiting the city and didn't want to leave without experiencing a local spot

Cheesecake

I went there this noon for burger hunting! It was so great that there was nearly no customers inside in such a weekday's noon. And...that's perfect for a introvert like me lol!!! When I opened the door, a lady said I can sit whenever I want with a really joyful voice. So enjoyable! I ordered a Spicy Cajun burger with curly fries as the side, and a cheesecake with chocolate sauce as my desserts. The burger and curly fries tasted nice, and the texture of the cheesecake was surprisingly smooth. Besides, it was highly appreciated that their servers always provided very appropriate, friendly and passionate help for me! The checking process was also quick enough cuz they paid sufficient and warm attention to their customers. I think their service is the best of my recent tries! I would highly recommend it as a good lunch downtown on weekdays, though it seems wired to recommend a bar as a weekday's lunch place. However, I firmly believe at such time, their environment, services, and food, can let you enjoy very well, especially for a person who doesn't like a too noisy place or too many interaction with people (like me)!

Cosmopolitan and a birthday shot.

I dined here the other night with a few of my friends and I can't complain. The food was very good and they have a nice selection of alcoholic beverages. Great bar food and our server Jacob was nice as well. It's definitely a great place to have a casual lunch and/or dinner, I will definitely be back once I'm in the area again!

Wish a tub was offered or at least a handheld shower wand for the undercarriage. Would prefer a solid bar soap be offered, I'm old fashioned. Toilet paper is sandpaper. The elevator was slow as mud and seemed very indecisive about even opening the door at the lobby. A nice bench outside the lobby vestibule is needed. Why am I sitting on the garden wall and why are employees smoking right in front of the hotel, have they nowhere to sit as well? No amenities posted in the room or any room service hints or local flavor adverts. The boutique hotel signature cocktail seemed to be missing a few listed ingredients? Could just be that my tastebuds lied. The view out the window was an industrial black hole of a mall roof at ground level (can you put something cute up there for all us window lookers), but if you only look up and out, the old church and architecture are still quite castle-like. Why do the windows not open. Protection against pirates and defenestration? Plenty of people prefer to have their air from outside and not piped in through layers of strangers people-dust. The black-out curtains were amazing, the room could have been painted Vantablack. Air conditioning was strong and cold, water was instantly hot when dialed in. All the young service workers were charming. The library writers restaurant food was a generous portion and yummy.

I certainly…read morewas, I had to do a double take on whether or not this was still part of the Hilton family of hotels. The Hotel Royer has been a popular choice for myself as of late whenever I am in town as it is a very solid option in terms of locale, price point and amenities. Whenever I walk in, I immediately notice two things. First off, the decor really brings together the theme of the hotel. I felt as if I was being taken back a few centuries to some royal kingdom, with portraits of historical figures, and furniture that is modern to the touch yet antiquated to the eyes. I also notice the smell, it is clean smelling and inviting. It certainly beats the musty cigarette smell you get at some places. The rooms in general are pretty good. The beds are comfortable, the lighting is decent and the space is typically pretty clean. The bathrooms are okay in my opinion (I am quite particular about this aspect). Sometimes the showers take a while to heat up and the toilet paper is pretty low quality. I think the weakest part of the rooms are the fact that some rooms do not have a desk. I think this is a big miss, as someone who visits on business a lot, it makes doing work in my room impossible sometimes. Additionally, the WiFi is super inconsistent, I found my devices being disconnected at will! In terms of amenities, I think the Hotel Royer is much better than the average Hilton. While there isn't the complimentary breakfast, they have their own restaurant, a well equipped gym and a pool. They also have a bar and their own banquet hall, for big events. The hotel is well located, in a walkable area and not too far from campus. Overall, I am a bit weary to select this hotel on future trips where business is important. However, if I am looking for a relaxing and quality stay, then I know the Hotel Royer will have me covered!

I think if I came back I would definitely lean into the typical American stuff because that's probably what they do best (the fries looked really yummy on other people's plates) Shrimp and Scallop Ceviche - this was an appetizer specials that I really enjoyed and highly recommend. Every bite was refreshing! Korean Salmon - Salmon was cooked well and the crust was nice and crispy. Something was just off about the flavor -- the sauce was too salty. Surf and Turf Tacos - decent tacos, would consider getting again Overall in the pricer side but it is a nicer sit down restaurant in Champaign. Comes with free popcorn sampler at the beginning of the meal! The servers were every kind. They unfortunately cannot accept visa gift cards too

They initially gave me a room with no bed (likely the living room area for a suite) and they immediately fixed the problem. Once I got into my room, it was relaxing and wonderful. The king rooms have a walk in shower and the twin queen bed rooms have a bathtub/shower combo. I mention this as those traveling with kids might prefer the tub option. Every room has a mini fridge. Traveling with little ones here is nice because they can offer a microwave in your room if requested. Made a big difference for us traveling with a young one. The gym is small but they do have a peloton bike among other equipment like free weights and other cardio equipment. Complimentary breakfast has warm savory options like egg burritos both with and without meat. They also offer oatmeal, fruit, yogurt and bagels with plenty of refreshments. Parking is free and easy to find. There's also a complimentary shuttle to take you to places on campus if you have no car. There are also bikes at the hotel to get around. All in all, we enjoyed our stay as did our guests for graduation.
