Look no further for an experienced electrician who has your best interest in mind. We're first time home owners who hired Brandon to instal a hot tub run and he was detailed oriented, very transparent, and guided us every step of the way for our project. The run a was just over 100' and he got the job done in a couple of days while consulting me along the way to make sure I was happy with the work. He also was very informative, responsive, and respectful of our property If you're planning any projects that need electrical and you want high quality, look no further and give Brandon from Guiding Light Electric a call! read more

Brandon was very responsive to my initial request for a service panel upgrade and EV charger wiring. He came out for a site visit and freely gave his opinion about potential issues, his staffing limitations etc. After his visit, he contacted me several times about some new ideas to approach this project. Although I did not move forward with him, I had very positive interactions and I felt he was honest and straight forward. read more

First, the process of choosing Guiding Light was made easy by reading the excellent reviews of Brandon's work and through his professional attitude in communicating with us. I understood the explanation of the parameters of the job and always felt that Brandon was clear and ethical. He arrived on time, was just as business-like in person as online. In addition, he considered our preferences in every aspect of the job at every stage. We are super happy with the results and also with some tips about varieties of light bulbs. I contacted Brandon to fix a problem with an outlet in the kitchen. He got back to me within hours and was very courteous. He kept in constant contact with me until the appointment date. He replaced the kitchen Switch and explained to me in a very straight forward manner that the wires in the box were loose, and he took the time to do the job right. The price was very fair as I didn't feel like he was trying to take advantage of me. He even gave me a 1 year warranty on the switch. Now my Dishwasher and Garbage disposal are working great again. I would not hestitate to contact him again for any future electrical work. He truly cares about his work. Thank you again Brandon. read more

I was impressed with Brandon's great costumer service and communicating his wealth of knowledge. He helped me navigate my parents old fuse box and restore electricity to nearly half their house after they tripped it plugging in a heater. He was authentically kind in providing guidance over the phone so as not to charge unnecessarily for an in-person simple fix. Highly recommend his business and will glady go back with any future electrical needs. read more

Brandon is increndible! As always he is so thorough - cannot imagine hiring a better electrician! This time, he replaced our outdoor lights. Ran into one problem with installing one of the lights to his satisfaction but he lets you know of any issues he cannot fix so you can get them taken care of. Brandon just finished installing overhead track lighting in our bathroom. It's been a complicated project because the old fixture was discontinued and we needed to find something similar to an old product. Anyway, Brandon worked with us through the process. He is good at explaining. I learned a lot. Brandon's work is excellent. He is reliable, and I appreciate his attention to detail and extra safety precautions. (We have an old house.) Will definitely give him a call for future work. read more

Repair light switch in bathroom which was giving me shocks. Excellent repair work, successfully executed. Definitely worth the price.

I chose Guiding Light based on Yelp reviews. I had several small projects to complete in my house. Brandon returned my calls promptly and came out to give me an estimate. He was very clear about what could and couldn't be done, explained his fees thoroughly, and was on time for his appointments. He was able to point out alternates options on a couple of projects which saved me some money. I have some experience in DIY, but don't like to mess around with electricity. Even so, I could see that the work he was doing was of exceptional quality. I will definitely work with Brandon again if I need more electrical work in my home. read more

Brandon is the epitome of thorough and considerate. We've had him out for a few projects - changing a 110V to 220V, taking out a light box in our kitchen and replacing it with can lights, connecting appliances after a kitchen remodel, and more. Each time, Brandon is punctual, transparent, thorough, and communicative - all the traits you want in someone touching your house. We have been more than satisfied with all his work and will continue to use Guiding Light Electric on future work in our house. read more

I can not recommend Brandon highly enough. My wife and I found him on Yelp and from his reviews decided to give him a try. We have been having ongoing intermittent electrical issues for some time. We made an appointment with a larger electrical company (JM Electrical) first, but they never showed up or called. I called Brandon next and left a message. He immediately called me back and he walked me through possible scenarios and agreed to come the next day. He was on time, knowledgable and friendly. In a short time a solution was proposed, a new quad breaker was installed and we were back in business. His pricing was more than fair. Because he is a one man business, you can be assured that he will be the one that will service you and not some less experienced employee. I highly recommend Guiding Light Electric. Extremely quick and reliable . Came out to our house immediately when we had absolutely no power, when he didn't have to proper stuff with him at the time, He rushed over to our local ace and I really appreciated him not telling me "oh I'll just come back tomorrow" Explained every step of the work he was going to do , BEFORE HE STARTED DOING IT ! Which I really liked , who wants a bunch of work done and not know what's going on you know ? If you are in the 831 area and are in need of fast honest service , Brandon is your guy! read more

I had a very unusual problem where two rooms suddenly had 0 power, but the breaker was OK. He kept at it until he found the bad socket in a place that did not appear make sense. He adapted to my old wiring but did not try to make me unnecessarily upgrade. He always let me know what the cost would be as he progressed, and tried keep it under control. A very good experience altogether. read more

Honest, ethical, and knowledgeable. If that's what you're looking for in an electrician, you have found him. Brandon really impressed me. He had the opportunity to sell me a $1500+ service. Other electricians had recommended it, so I had just assumed the service was necessary. Brandon spent time explaining my whole electrical situation to me, including why the $1500+ repair wasn't really necessary for my particular situation. I felt very confident that if this was a situation where the repair was really needed, Brandon definitely would have done it. However, because this wasn't really a needed repair, Brandon didn't want to sell me something I didn't need, and instead he offered me a different, much cheaper alternative fix. Once Brandon came and actually inspected my electrical system, he even took it a step further with his honesty. For various reasons that he explained clearly to me, he actually thought it was best to just leave everything as is and not even do the cheaper, alternative fix that he had suggested over the telephone. He even did a thorough check of everything, including electrical functions in my house, just to make absolutely sure that his assessment was correct. Really impressed with his honesty and his desire to do right for the customer. This is the type of guy you want to hire. read more

My quote app wasn't working so I contacted Brandon directly and he responded within an hour and was able to squeeze my small task into his schedule the following day. My husband and I often work on projects ourselves but this time we needed someone to troubleshoot whether the lighting issue was the switch, the fixture, or somewhere in between and also to install a new light. The switch was only a couple weeks old but turns out it was a bad switch so I exchanged it and now everything works great. I'm thankful for Brandon's expertise so now we know all the parts are working properly. He took time to show me as he tested all the wires and connections and kind to explain everything. He arrived with a mask on, was very courteous and professional. He even texted me a few days later to check in and make sure all was well. I appreciate the integrity and honest advice from Brandon. I would definitely hire him again. read more

I called Brandon Osburn at Guiding Light Electric on the recommendation of several people on Next-door. It was 7 pm and I had just lost power to half of my house. Brandon spent at least half an hour on the phone with me trying to help me solve the problem but I was not successful so we made an appointment for the following morning. Brandon texted me when he was on his way. He was punctual, professional and very knowledgable and he was able to diagnose and fix the problem easily and quickly. He also took the time to educate me about potential future electrical problems. His fee was extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend Brandon to anyone needing a skilled and highly ethical electrician. read more

If you are looking for top notch service that is very reasonably priced, then Brandon at Guiding Light is for YOU!! I recently had to have some extensive wiring done in my house as a result of remodeling my dining room, and Brandon was an answer to my prayers! Not only was he prompt in getting back to me, he came out immediately to give me a bid. Compared to the other guy, there was no comparison, so we gave him the job. Brandon was faced with some unexpected "architectural challenges" (the house was built in 1938!), but he was able to problem solve quickly and efficiently and he didn't over change at all. He faced the challenge with grace and expertise, and the end result was PERFECT! In this crazy time we are in, it is important to have people that you can trust when entering your home. I fully trust Brandon, and I will welcome him back any time that I have electrical projects. He is knowledgeable, efficient, cleans up after himself, and the price is definitely right! And, to top it off, he is really nice as well. Go towards the Light with Guiding Light! You'll be sooooo glad you did!! read more

If you are looking for a competent, reliable, and highly skilled electrician, look no further. Brandon is amazingly smart, well-spoken, and hard working. He took on a very complex 220v wiring project for us and did a wonderful job. We couldn't have asked for a better outcome. He talked over several options about our project and brain-stormed the best way to complete it. He also discovered an unrelated problem under our house that if left unrepaired would have caused major issues in the future. Thanks again Brandon, you are the best! read more

I would give Brandon a thousand stars for rating if I could. He did an absolutely amazing job! He is incredible. He fixed the problem immediately, which was great. The other night I was having a problem with the electricity in my master bathroom, and called Brandon to see if he could diagnose and fix it. He came over the next morning and determined it was not a bad switch in my breaker box (which is what I thought) but a more complicated problem involving the wiring in my bathroom. This issue was something that my home builder was responsible for, so Brandon wrote a report for me to submit to Shea Homes, and they fixed my bathroom wiring. Brandon is polite, friendly and punctual, and he knows his stuff. I would not hesitate to hire him again. read more

Guiding Light Electric is amazing! Brandon is honest and reliable and goes above and beyond to provide excellent service. We had an issue with a newly installed washer/dryer combo unit at a rental property and he was able to go out and troubleshoot the issue immediately. I was having problems with flickering lights and dead outlets throughout my home. Scary! I had a few different electricians take a look, and Brandon was one of them. Before even going into my home, he immediately spotted burned wiring exposed to the elements on Pg&e s line. He said that was a fire hazard and a possible cause to the symptoms I called him to investigate. In any case, he took a look at my panel and gave me some good honest advice to first call Pg&e and have them fix their problem, which they did very punctually. Problems have ceased. Although Brandon didn't do any manual work on my home, he did a lot to help me and knows his stuff. read more

I called Brandon to come give me an estimate on some electrical issues and upgrades I needed in my home. He was prompt in returning my call, made an appointment in a reasonable time frame, came out and looked at the work and listened to my concerns and needs. After some initial investigation, he told me I did not need to do all of the work I initially thought and explained why. He gave me a written quote and a date to do the work. He was honest in saying he could not come out for a couple of weeks because of a big job he was currently in the middle of. He called about a week later with a break in his schedule and I was able to accommodate the last minute timing and had all the work done in one day. Professional, honest, thorough, stuck to his quote (even though there were unexpected challenges) I would not hesitate to recommend Brandon, and will definitely use him again if the need arises. read more

This is a honest company. I had a problem with my recessed lighting and I wanted them to come to check it out. I talk to them on the phone and instead of them coming out to my house and charge me, they wanted me to try different things first before they come. I called Brandon on afternoon and left him a message that I'm need of an electrician to test the wire cables for my outdoor light and /or to mount my night light fixture by my door, if he could call me back for an estimate. Almost in the same afternoon before 5:00 pm he called back and gave me his hourly rate which I found out to be most economical compared to others. He then said that if he can come by tomorrow at 8:00 am, by golly he is prompt, exactly at the dot 8:00 am someone rang my doorbell. I came later that morning and he is already starting to do his work my wife had him check our wire cables by the outdoor lights and told me that nothing is wrong with the wires and neither the light fixtures but only need to change the bulb. Since he is already in our house my wife asked him to check a couple of outlets which he gave his most economical price per outlet and told us somewhere at the end the right for the customer to cancel even though the work was already completed and in writing, what an honest man. I asked him is that really true he said that they service person is bound to let their clients know that they hand over that piece of paper letting them know that customers have the right to cancel even the work was already completed, they being audited by "Service Bureau" when they renew their license. I told him now I added one more honest household service person on my roster and be glad to call him again for some electrical needs. read more
