I do NOT recommend this hotel at all. The reception was in another hotel, kind of a musty smell…read more Hotel Utopia was above a coffeeshop so weed and loud music was constant. Our room was stuffy and stale. Felt like it wasn't cleaned properly from the last stay (ex the bedsheet was not "fresh"). The sink was bubbling every time someone flushed the toilet or took a shower in the hallway. Music and noise all through the night. Only stayed one night, changed the hotel the next day. Didn't get any sleep at all. Didn't get the money back.

Awful place, even for the price…read more - No reception in building - that's aight - but therefore no people in charge: our next door neighbors played music so loud the walls shook, from 19-00, and again at 8 am. - The coffee shop downstairs played music all hours of the day, except for 01-08. Constant smell of weed. - Window opening up into a brown wall. Constantly dark room. - Bathroom sink made sounds all through the night. Thought it was gonna flood. - Dirty walls and floor, no soap on shared toilet. Constant feeling of being dirty. Broken locks. - First guy in reception refused to look me in the eye. Felt very shady, unpleasant. Checked out 3 days early with another guy, he was nice. - Quite a disgusting, harsh part of the city. Tourist shopping district and red light. Only live here if you're planning on not sleeping and feeling disgusting.

Would you stay at a hotel right on the trainlines into the main train station of the largest city…read morein the country? The hotel is also located very close to the docks where our Viking Rhine River cruise boat docked, although it is very difficult to walk there due to busy roadways in the area. The back of the hotel overlooks a dozen railway lines, with the docks in the background. The front of the hotel overlooks the river, and center of the city. We used Hilton honors points for our May 26-May 28, 2024 stay, and got upgraded to a fourth-floor suite, on the corner. Got the usual fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies. Place is shaped like a triangle due to sharp angles of the building. Our unit had a spacious bathroom with separate tube and shower, a separate bedroom, and separate living room with a mini bar. Floor to ceiling windows in bedroom and living room. The living room had a sofa, desk, multiple sitting tables and view of the river. Closet without doors, as is common in Europe. One of the quirks of having a corner room is that the unit was shaped like a triangle. Opening the bathroom door would block the main door from opening. Very quiet, as we faced away from the railway tracks, and no vehicle traffic on the combination bike/pedestrian walkway in front of the river. We are Hilton Diamond members and had access to the top floor Executive Lounge, but didn't eat there. Ate downstairs at the free breakfast buffet for Hilton Gold and Diamond members, and free happy hour appetizers/snacks at the bar. The airport is accessible by surface train from the nearby Centraal Station, although if you have check-in luggage, you should take a taxi, as the train cars have very limited room to store oversized luggage, and no overhead storage compartments like airlines. They also make a large number of stops. Rated 100/100 on the walkability scale by Tripadvisor, with 174 restaurants and 67 attractions within 0.3 miles.

Service at the hotel was super friendly and helpful. We had a room overlooking the canal which was great. Room clean bed great and of course free cookies on check in. You could even rent an umbrella for a couple of days. Self serve well stocked Convience store in lobby. Don't forget rooftop terrace as well as a smaller one on floor 10. Walk to the highest room number on that floor and bring you key to access to terrace. I will review restaurants separately

WE WERE ROBBED BY HOSTEL STAFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. This was the most horrific experience…read moreever. On an educational school trip, we booked a 4 night stay at this hostel. 8 women, including myself, were assigned ROOM 228. Hostel staff was aware that us women knew each other and were traveling together upon check in. We went to bed at 145am and woke up at 650am to the realization that euros and credit/debit cards were STOLEN from our room and our lockers. We immediately went to the front desk, which informed us that security would not be in until 3pm and that there was nothing they could review until then. We were also told that we could not view the footage due to "privacy". Interesting how we had no privacy though..in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. Upon further examination of the door in the morning, it appeared the lock was BROKEN and was not connecting with the door. The only way to get into our room was with a KEY CARD SWIPE. The hostel "manager" informed us that the hostel would be "opening up an INVESTIGATION". But would not guarantee a refund. We felt so UNSAFE here that we moved to another hotel. Never would have expected to have my rights VIOLATED in this way. This hostel should be shut down, as numerous other reviews mention thieves, thievery, theft, stolen items, feeling unsafe, and the room being in terrible condition. The staff are incompetent. Hostel staff- don't even bother replying to this review. Nothing you could say will make up for the traumatic experience I experienced at your establishment. My biggest recommendation for you is to FIX THE LOCK ON 228, refund our stay, and PROSECUTE the criminal who broke into our room. My biggest piece of advice to others is to AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Also, didn't appreciate the tattoo shop in the lobby.
