Stayed here for two days whilst traveling through the Netherlands. Not too shabby if I say so…read moremyself.
Decorated in the contemporary, minimalistic style, everything is all about clean lines and a polished look. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable, if a little bare. We requested a room with two beds, but they gave us two single beds pushed together. The room itself came with an older television, two chairs, and a small table. There were also plenty of available outlets. Wifi is consistent thoughout the hotel (YAY!).
The bathroom was serviceable. Oddly, the bathroom door only covered half of it. Lol. It kept the place dry though. There were also plenty of towels.
The rest of the hotel was nice. Again, the contemporary look was common throughout. Especially in the lobby and bar area. Breakfast is served at seven, buffet-style. The regular menu consists of various breads (croissants!!!), cheeses, cold cuts, eggs (scrambled and hard-boiled), bacon, sausages, fruits, yogurts, and cereals. The drink menu consisted of orange, apple, and pineapple juice, milk, coffee, and tea.
Location-wise, the surrounding area is a little dead. There are several different restaurants and cafés, but they're rarely busy. If you're willing to walk a little bit (less than five minutes), you'll hit a fairly busy shopping area. Other than that, there's not too much to do. Amsterdam is roughly an hour away.
Overall, the Apollo is a nice place to stay for a couple nights -- but I wouldn't make a full vacation of the area.
