I was using the Yelp Map. What I didn't realize was that I was walking facing East and the side of the building where the mural is located was behind me. It's facing East at 212 East 42 Street. The mural is a huge beautiful face framed in a floral extravaganza. The details of the eyelashes and the reflection in the eyes is fantastic. It's so beautiful. If you're a fan of enjoying and visiting public artwork you'll love this piece. I'm so glad I have my photos to look at. You need to get there before time passes and it's gone! See my Yelp review on the "Future Of Work" The largest of these murals was undertaken by Cuban-American artist Jorge Rodríguez Gerada called "Reflection", it is 132 feet high and 160 feet wide and made to conform to and uneven sidewall with windows. Jorge painted a white caucasian child's face with big blue eyes containing scenarios of child-trafficking victims within the iris of both pupils.  The theme is advocating against child-trafficking and child labor, which are both rampant in around the world. The mural is on the far east side of 42nd street and can only be seen look west when you're like 50 feet on the ally on t6he side of the Westin Hotel and so it is unknown to most New Yorkers,

This review is a long time coming:…read more A few years ago when I was living in the LES, I noticed these eyesores that were the construction containers for the Houston Restoration Project. Then one day I happened by, and they were no longer those drab, depressing, steel tombs- they were turned into long, cubic works of art. Each side of the container was now adorned with a vibrant image. Upon further investigation, I learned that it was due to the newly created Centre-fuge Public Art Project Centre-fuge was the brainchild a few other local LES residents, who too were tired of the eyesores. They turned the boring containers into a rotating street art gallery, that initially featured local artists. Now, going into its 5th year (and its 20th cycle), Centre-fuge has expanded not only further into the East Village at the First street Green Art Park, but into Brooklyn/outer boroughs, as well as down to Miami. The cycles rotate every 3 months, when they buff the containers and invite new artists, now from around the globe. Anyone can actually submit to be considered to cover a portion of a container/wall, via their website. Centre-fuge is a great project that not only beautifies neighborhoods, but brings together communities. If you're into street art/graffiti, be sure to head to LES to check out the project. While you're there, mosey over to the Bowery wall at Bowery/Houston for another rotating mural. Then head down to Little Italy, for the L.I.S.A Project.

He studied at the University of Cincinnati and Boston Museum School from 1953-1955, and received his BFA from Ohio University in 1957. Hell's Kitchen has some street art but not as much as you can see in the village. So I take notice here when I see something really good and that stands out. I call it 'Feed Me Love' because that is what stands out, by Selwyn Senatori The old location to Decimo 'restobar' at 52nd and 10th had Senatori grace the sidewall with his beautiful work in a style that is all Senatori with bright colorful, romantic images with comical overtones.  It was always worth the short walk just to see it if you was in the Hell's Kitchen part of town. To bad for the Decimo, another victim of our times but 'Feed Me Love' still lives on or I should say part of it because the powers that be decided it not to be preserve as it once was.
