We have had intermittent problems with a slow drain under the slab in our basement that we know has…read morea hole in it. I messaged Drain Pro to get them to map the pipe so the plumbers could replace it. They responded to my inquiry quickly and showed up exactly when they said they would. They checked the pipe, found that it was mostly just clogged, and showed us that the hole is very small and likely does not need replacement at this point. Then he gave us advice on how to keep it clear without them having to do it regularly, but also that he's happy to keep checking it for us going forward. Additionally, we had a power outage literally right as he was about to put the snake down the pipe, but they came back a couple hours later (well after 6pm) when the power was back and did the job. Then they didn't charge me an arm and a leg! The guys were very polite, went out of their way to be neat (going around the house instead of through it), and cleaned up after themselves. Couldn't be happier. I hope I don't need their services anymore, but I'll happily use them again if I do.

I contacted Direct Plumbing Solutions for a quote through the Yelp app and the owner Eric contacted me immediately and scheduled a time for someone to come out the next day to give an estimate (mind you the water heater was still working at this time, I bet he could have had someone come out sooner if that was not the case.) Eric, the estimator, and installer Tom were able to coordinate scheduling and arrival via Yelp messaging or text messages, which is very important to me because I don't have a lot of availability for phone calls while working full-time, taking care of pregnant Wife, and nursing a dog recovering from knee surgery. Tom was the man! I asked him a lot of questions via text messages and he was very quick to respond, even later in the evening. I actually wasn't even present for the installation and instead had a family member at the house and they were quite impressed with him and Direct Plumbing that they ended up scheduling work for their house. When I got home that evening the new water heater was working like a champ and they didn't leave any mess behind. All in all it was a fantastic experience, and I would recommend Direct Plumbing Solutions to anyone. It just seems in Vancouver it's very hard to find honest and reputable contractors, but in DPS it looks like I finally found one. When I had called to ask for a quote for the work I wasn't aware of the service call fee ($36) or the "layout/inspection" fee ($68), both of which, to my surprise, showed up on my invoice. One plumber came out to give a quote then the next day Kevin showed up to perform the work, different from what what originally spec'd and wasn't inspected by the former after Kevin completed the job. What's on them: When my call was taken I should have been given a breakdown of charges for an inspection/quote, service call fee, mileage, "layout/inspection", hourly labor rate, and best-guess parts. What's on me: I should have asked in my original call what charges would show up on my invoice before having someone come over to give me a quote.
