Should be zero stars. This company uses the name of a reputable company and a discount quote to reel you in. Don't fall for it. They call with a quote and demand a deposit before you get off the phone "or you will lose the discounts" so that you can't 1. Change your mind 2. Do research on them . Once they have you locked in for a date of your choosing, you find out it's actually a two day window. Don't count on them showing up the first day. They only have one driver. Alex, the guy that has all the excuses and sob stories about how his truck broke down and that is why he is late, and has to get a rental truck (at an extra cost to you), and does not have a team of movers, so be prepared to do the heavy lifting you thought you had hired the company to do. On the second day, no one called until I repeatedly called them, hours after the driver was supposed to show. That's when the excuses started pouring out. As the sun started to set, I started getting anxious, the "two business" day period was over. I wasn't waiting any longer, I found out via the help of a just posted Yelp review, that the driver had just completed a drop off in NJ, hours away. The review woke me up to the continued nightmare I would have if I let them take my stuff. At nearly 11pm I got a call from the driver saying he was getting close, I told him not to come, I didn't feel safe being alone with a male driver that late, not to mention they failed to produce the services as we agreed. This was by far the worst experience of my 72 years. Promises promises , and not one kept! The charge almost doubled once the truck was loaded, we could not contact anyone with any information on our way from NJ to FL. Wish I could give it negative 5 stars. Please avoid this dishonest business or you will regret it like me. Issue 1, dishonest sales technique: Initially over the phone, we got a quote for $2899. But upon pick up we were told we had to pay for more than $4900. Turned out, the cubic feet quoted for us was much less than what was actually needed even though when we were getting the quote on the phone, we almost had all the boxes sealed and ready and told the quote guy every item(including the size of each box, the physical dimensions of furnitue pieces) we had. However, in reality, we were short of 250 cubic feet when we were quoted only 616 cubic feet. In addition, we were not told that the rate would be 50% more for the extra cubic footage. What's more, they charged extra for the stair cases even though we already told the quote guy that our apartment is on the second floor. Since it was too late then when the pick up guy showed up, we had to accept the new price. BTW, the movers damaged the exit sign during move and didn't do/say anything about that. Issue 2, delay, delay, and delay: Upon pickup, they said they could pick up Sunday or Monday, not necessarily Sunday but definitely Monday. On Monday, they said they could not come on Monday because the truck "broke down" but they promised to arrive at 9am on Tuesday. We then told them we have a flight on Tuesday afternoon and asked for 8am instead. They agreed. On Tuesday they didn't show up until 10:23am. It was such a rush we almost missed the flight. Upon delivery, the delivery guy Henry changed the delivery time more than 4 times from Thursday to Saturday, and all the changes are last minute changes. He would always say he'll come over in an hour or so and every time we called him back after that promised time he would say another hour. Reasons used include truck malfunctioning, police stopping, dealing with other customers, boss's directions etc.We have been waiting in the apartment and had to cancel all the other plans just waiting for him to show up. read more

My friend was stuck in an unfortunate situation and needed to get he belongings from Virginia to New York. She researched several options including UHaul and Pods. She found this company that promised low rates and excellent service. She called the company and spoke to a very helpful representative. She told him all the things she had and they gave her an estimate of $1200.00. She agreed to the service because it was considerably less then the alternatives. She expected that it might be a little more due to it only being an estimate. They gave her a tentative date of the following Saturday or Sunday for pick up and said that the drivers would contact her with the exact day and time of pick up. They told her that she needed to pay 70% down with check, cash or money order. She purchased a money gram money order at the local Walmart.. Easy enough.... The Friday before, the driver called to say they would be there on Saturday between 3 and 6pm. They would call an hour before arrival. Still seemed good.... On Saturday at 5pm she had still not received a call so she called them. They told her that they were still 2 hours away and would contact her when closer. Ok, a little annoyed... At 7pm, there was still no calls from them. At 7:30pm they called and said 20 minutes but at 830 they still were not there. They texted that they were still 20 minutes out.... Ok, very annoyed and concerned. They did not arrive until 945pm. When they got there, they put 90% of her stuff on the truck and said that they needed the payment. She handed them the money order and they refused to accept it. They told her they only accepted postal money orders. The driver gave her 15 minutes to drive to the Walmart, cash the money order and return with the money. (Walmart was 10 minutes away). They said if she wasn't back in 15 minutes, they would leave. Frazzled, she was just going to write a personal check.... SUPER ANNOYED. As she was getting ready to write the check, the driver told her that her belongings were taking up MORE than the estimated space of 3.1 cubic feet and he needed to adjust the estimate. Now her space was 6.9 cubic feet and the new amount due was $3,800.00. (yeah, do the math on that) bring on the hysterics! After fighting and screaming for an hour with the driver, they dropped the price to $1,900. (some deal) The driver FORCED her to do a video of how they helped her by dropping the price. So red faced and blurry eyed she did it. They told her they would be in New York the next day and would call an hour before they got to the destination. Super angry at this point.... On Sunday, she called to get a rough estimate of the time they would be there. She heard 3 different stories. They were still in Virginia. They were in New Jersey. They would have to wait 2-4 days to wait for the check to clear. They would not be there til Friday. Beyond mad now.... On Friday, they called to say that they were in the area and would be there shortly. But that they called the storage unit place and their truck would not fit. They would need to move her stuff to a smaller truck for delivery. When they arrived, they charged her a 500.00 additional fee for a "shuttle fee". They told her that they would not release her stuff unless she had the 30% and the shuttle fee. After an hour of screaming and crying, she got a small discount, realized she was fighting a losing battle and paid them. Now she is completely broke and not able to afford the new apartment she was in the process of getting. This company turned an unfortunate situation into a NIGHTMARE! They held her belongings hostage and financially raped her. They were sweet as pie to gain her business and then price gouged her when she had no other choice. Only to show up in a uhaul or Ryder truck..... SERIOUSLY??? You will be told that 65% is due at the time of pick-up, only to find out they won't even consider sending it to the new location without you paying the rest of the money due. They only deal in cash (cashiers check or postal money order), so you have no recourse when they hold your belongings hostage. In the 21st century, how many large companies don't deal in credit cards? Delivery will not be when promised and it is likely they will make you sign before they drop all of your stuff off- DON'T SIGN UNTIL ALL OF YOUR BELONGINGS ARE ACCOUNTED FOR! This company cannot be rated with stars. They stole about 1500$ worth of my belongings, overcharged me by 1300$, and forced me to cancel all my bank cards. As mentioned before, it is a scam. Make sure you read every line of every document they send you. Their exploits rely on the fact that you are not reading the handful of forms they make you sign. If you have the opportunity, contact the local police so that they can send out a Peace Officer to watch the transaction. If you've already paid the deposit, my recommendation is still to cancel; you will be glad in the long run. Here is a list of things they pulled during my ordeal: At the time of the call (Hang up): - They will low-ball your volume estimate by ~175%. The extra 75% volume will then be billed at 1.4x the original rate. - They will lie and tell you that they've never received a negative review. - They will give you unrealistic dates for both pick-up and delivery. - Expect to be forced to pay about double what they quote. - They will try and get you to sign the contract before reading it. At the time of the pick up (call to police): - They will mis-label your items so you are not sure which items show up at the drop off. - They will try and avoid labeling items. This allows them take what they want. - Although they claim that they will dismantle your furniture (and tell you not to dismantle it yourself) they will not bring tools, so that they can charge you 1.4x rate for the extra volume - They showed up at my place a 3:00 am to pick up my things, two days after the contract was scheduled for. - They will fill up the truck with your items, then tell you that the cost has increased and unloading the truck cost 125$/hour. - They had me sign blank pieces of paper for insurance. - They will attempt to "tip" themselves 150$ for the pick up and charge obscene fuel surcharges. - They will say their truck broke down so that they can postpone the delivery or pick-up. At the time of drop-off (call the police): - My items were dropped off 19 days after the original quote - Expect items to be damaged. - They will call you a couple hours early saying that there isn't enough room to park the truck (~300$), even if there is. - My computer was removed from its box and they delivered the box empty. They also stole my snowboard, some electronics, and dining room chairs. - I also think that they sell your information. I am now in a fight with them to get my deposit back. Their contract states that the move is 100% refundable until you esign the contract. I never did esign, but when they didnt hear from me, they contacted my 74 yr old mother (who is the one needing the move). The contract was in my name and I paid the deposit, but they are claiming since my mother did the e-sign that I cannot get the full refund. This is absolutely illegal - I never signed the contract. They lied to me from the beginning regarding the price, they completely took out my front railing of my home and it's going to cost $500 to re-build it. I have just moved with Guardian Moving Systems out of South Bend, IN or whatever they are calling themselves today. I hope that this will be the last I ever hear about them. When they picked up our furniture, I was told that a tractor trailer would make the pickup. My street is only 200 feet long ending at a removable barrier that was taken down so the driver could make a U-turn without trouble. They sent a box truck instead. And of course they needed a second truck, which they charge me for. After the furniture was loaded, we signed the papers and off my furniture went. It headed to Florida and so did we. I had some questions and tried to contact Guardian and was bounced around from one person to another and sometimes put on hold only to be forgotten completely. I contacted Customer Service only be told that they could not help me. During this period of time I became more and more frustrated. I was told that my delivery would be on the following Monday and that I would be called Sunday to confirm the delivery. No such call was ever made. I did get a call from some woman claiming that I needed to wire more money. She didn't give a company and if I remember correctly, her name. I was on the Interstate and didn't continue the conversation. She never called back, thank god. There were more phone calls with the same results. Wednesday. About 9:30 AM, the tractor trailer pulls up with two guys who barely speak English. They wanted to take my furniture and reload it onto a smaller truck. I told them I would not pay for the smaller trucks, because it would take two when they reloaded and I would get over charged again. During this time a representitive from the Homeowner's Association showed up to greet us to the community. The driver and the other guy was afraid they would get a ticket. They called their boss and told him that the police about the ticket and the boss may have told them to leave. As there were only two of them, I suggested they go to Home Depot an hire three or four sets of hands. They got in the truck and left. The boss called me about the "ticket" Two hours later, three young men and one not so young so young. They waited an hour or more for the truck to come back. I left to get a cashiers and saw the truck pulling onto my street. My wife called and told me that the movers would not unload anything until they got the balance of the money. I got a Cashier's Check and headed home only to be told they only accept cash or postal money order. I only had 20 minutes before the bank closed. I was tempted to ask for the money in change, but it may have another day to count it. This cash or money order business looks shady to me. It would be a great way hide a lot of money or avoid claiming it as earnings. About 5 or 5:30, the guy asked me if I had anymore space to put what was still in the truck because there was no room left in the house. If he had cleaned up the packing and moved the furniture into the rooms, the problem would be solved. It was. When they were ready to leave, there were still items rapped up in blankets and a bunch of pieces were not assembled. The a--h---- didn't bring any tools. Thanks to these a holes, we were unable to stay in our new house. One of my main grips is the terrible communication between the customer and the moving company. I find it hard to believe that a company like Guardian Moving System or whatever name they are doing business this week can stay in business. I tried to talk to the two company guys and neither knew anything about how I was to contact someone about getting it fixed. They sounded like the SS officers after World War II. No star should be an option!!! Boy, if only I had read these reviews first! It's scary how similar my experiences have been! I recently moved from IL to CA. I dealt with a sales scammer named "Pete". As with the other complaints, I got what I now know was an incredibly low-ball estimate just to get my business. The estimate was $2599. Then on the actual moving day, the movers showed up and the move foreman immediately told me it was going to be "much more". When I asked HOW much he said maybe $3500-$4000. I told him to STOP PACKING, I can't afford it. They stopped, we talked, he told me if I could swing a deposit of $2000 it would work out ok. So, based on that we went ahead. Two hours later, all my stuff is packed and on the truck, and he says, well, it came out more--$5500!!! and I had to pay $3700 deposit on the spot which I did not have on a moments notice!! What is the point of an "estimate" if it comes it at more than double! My stuff is still sitting in Chicago while I scramble to get the funds together to have it shipped to me! Customer Service is non-existent, I have not successfully gotten to talk to anyone to express my dismay. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! They initially quoted me around $1660. After the initial conversation it was difficult for me to talk to people (waited 10 min on hold once before hanging up). I called 2-3 weeks later to give an update list of items I would be moving to see if the amount would change, and was told someone would contact me a week before my move to update my list. When that time came, I played phone tag with them for days. I ended up emailing my updated list, but was never contacted about it. On moving day my estimate MORE THAN DOUBLED to $3400. When I received my items in California, 6 of my plastic tubs (about $10/ ea) were cracked and damaged beyond repair. I called to complain and they said I can file a claim but it may not be honored since they are listed as "boxes" and not "plastic tubs"- even though their employees made up the list!!!!!!! When I complained about the drastic increase in price, they said, "Sorry for the inconvenience." A few key words to define this company: deceptive, rude, frustrating, unprofessional, unresponsive. - They doubled our original quoted rate after they packed all of our items based on increased square footage that THEY estimated. Any square footage over the original estimation costs double- how brilliant for them. They hold your items hostage so what are you to do but pay the rate. - The 3 movers were unable to lift our pool table so we were forced to leave it behind, even though they were aware we had a pool table to move. They said they could get other men on a later day but it'd cost extra. Now we're out a pool table. - They took 10 hours to move us out of an apartment! I can't image how long it'd take if we actually had many things to move. They didn't even pack items, just moved them. - They rewrapped items just to waste money on supplies they charged us for (unfortunately they didn't even rewrap them well because items were broken at delivery). They removed my bubble wrap to use theirs, threw away half used rolls of tape and them charged us for the packing supplies. - Our couch was ripped and table was cracked upon arrival; I'm yet to open all of our boxes of fragile kitchen items but I'm less than hopeful - Their customer service is unresponsive and completely obnoxious if you try to call them after you're already under contract, they will dismiss you and tell you that's not their department. - They confirmed delivery for the contracted day the day prior, and then called two minutes before they were supposed to arrive to say their truck broke down 1.5 hours away and they couldn't make the delivery. Not only did my husband and I take off of work that day but when they delivered the following day (at 6:30pm to almost midnight) the driver informed us that they left that day from the warehouse 5 hours away. Meaning we were completely lied to about the broken down truck. I've never dealt with a business so dishonest and so terrible at their job and yet had to pay for the frustration and sub optimal service. In brief, their movers are rude and overcharged me onsite and get my most expensive items lost. Some items are scratched and damaged. Some boxes and drawers seem have been opened. My household stuff was delivered 2 weeks after I updated my delivery address with them. Although they promised they can deliver my stuff once my delivery address is confirmed in 2 to 3 days when I signed the contract with them. Once delivered, the movers refused to deliver with an 18-wheels truck and asked for several hundred dollars more to use small truck. (The parking lot of my apartment is definitely good for an 18-wheels truck. I told them this but they still insisted to use small truck and surcharged for that.) Otherwise, they refused to give my stuff and would just drove away. I insisted to move stuff by myself to save tip for these rude guys. They also refused and charged for the moving. After paying remaining balance ~$500 and the tip $235 for moving in cash, they started to move my household stuff from their truck. These guys are really experienced and good at this trick. They only asked for cash or money order. They know you will revoke your check once you found your stuff was missing and broken. Eventually, 2 big boxes, 1 small box and a bed frame are found to be missing. They just walked away and asked me to contact movingclaims.net. I contacted that website and learned that this moving company won't do any investigation until I submit my Claim Procedures Package form by MAIL, no option for fax and email. What a ridiculous! It is 2016, not 1916! If they cannot find my stuff, the coverage for my loss is up to $0.60/lbs. A good estimate of my loss is ~$2000. If they just cover by $0.60/lbs, that would be less than $100. I feel being robbed. What I have lost include a PS4 console and Wii U console just bought on Thanksgiving 2015 (i have receipts to prove that.), the most expensive pieces among all stuff. What a coincidence! Why the most expensive items are lost? Once again, stay away from this moving company! I also see a lot of negative reviews towards this company. I also wish I could give this company a 0 or negative stars! I read reviews of the Guardian in Tennessee thinking it was this place when the sent me a quote. I hired them because they were really reasonable price in quote. That was the last positive experience I've had with them so far. I gave my credit card to the sales rep to charge a 20% deposit to lock in pick up. At pick up I was told it was never charged so now I would owe them that $220 plus the 50% off balance at pick up. After they had everything in the truck they told me my estimate was off by over 100 cubic feet and it was going to cost an additional $300 which is impossible because I gave the sales rep dimensions on every piece! I told him to take one large item of the truck because it didn't even cost $200 and instead of moving it I'd just but a new one. He proceeded to talk to his boss on the phone in some anguage I didn't understand and told me they would give me a discount. I was given stacks of paper work to fill out, which included a credit card authorization form for pick up cost, but was then told by the driver that they couldn't accept credit card only cash, money order or check. I said "then why the he'll do you have a credit card authorization form?" I was so frustrated and stressed and already stress because I'm friggin moving out of state. Using a moving company is supposed to relieve stress, not create more!! I told him I didn't have checks and he asked me how much cash I had on me!!! This place now seems so shady to me and they still have my stuff. this company doesn't even deserve 1 star. This is the worst company ever. I can't even describe how awful this company was. It is 100 percent my fault because i did not look up any reviews. So to start if off there price contently changes. Than when you get one price it keeps going up. Second i was moving a cross the country. they told me they would be there no problem by my move in date. they picked up my belongings 3 weeks before i left. three weeks is a long time to move from New Jersey to Texas they where 3 weeks late from the day they promised. I finally get my belongings and 1000$ worth of stuff is broken. They lost part of my bedroom set and almost everything else was damaged they don't care about your stuff what so ever. This was not only the worst experience with a moving company, but also the worst experience with a company EVER. Just a note---this company is NOT out of LA, but rather Indiana. Interestingly, all of their customer service is in Florida. Not sure how that works, but I digress. Seven days before our move, we realized that we would not be able to complete the move ourselves with my husband's bad back. They seemed nice enough on the phone, and Jeff Gore, the salesman was personable and helpful. He gave us the quote, we digitally signed the contract, and we exhaled a sigh of relief. This was the beginning of our nightmare. After realizing that they have changed/altered the name of their company numerous times due to the negative reviews that resulted from their exceptionally awful service, we discovered that the moving company we hired, then going by Guardian Moving Systems, was accused of stealing people's valuables, breaking furniture, raising prices that were far beyond what the company quoted, and then holding people's belongings hostage. I had a panic attack as I scrolled through horrifying story after horrifying story, so the following morning (24 hours after we had booked them) my husband called to see if we could cancel and get our deposit back. Jeff assured us that since we had cancelled within 24 hours, we didn't need to worry about losing our deposit (they say that if you cancel within seven days, they do not return the deposit--it was now six days before the move). Despite what Jeff told us, we received a charge on our credit card from "Moving Ops" in the amount of our deposit. My husband called the company, where he was treated quite rudely, told that the sales rep had "lied" to us and we wouldn't be getting our deposit back, and hung up on him. This was the beginning of a months long back and forth. We called the credit card company and disputed the charge. After we moved (using another company), I called Guardian Moving Whatever They Call Themselves Now and was promptly forwarded to their team in Florida (what happened to LA/Indiana?) to try to deal with the situation. They told us that couldn't do anything because we had disputed the charge. So began a month of back and forth with them. They refused to provide us with the "proof" of our cancellation (which Jeff had never sent) and said they no longer had access to his records because he, conveniently, didn't work there anymore. They kept telling me they would call me back; however, as of right now, I am still waiting. Every time I call, the person in charge is never available, out to lunch, etc. Long story short, we ended up having to eat the $650 deposit. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. According to BBB their address is not even correct, there are I think 3 different contact numbers to call, none of which are helpful. I had informed Ray that I no longer needed a quote, as I was planning on picking up the furniture myself due to the cost. He said he could get me a price around what I was going to pay to get it. His quote was $1230. I informed him that I already had a quote from another company for $1100, he got the name of the company and told me that this guys contract out, and that they have really bad reviews on Yelp. (HA!) He told me that with Guardian I would be able to work directly with him through the whole process, and that once given a quote that price was not going to change. So I finally said yes, and gave my deposit. However, right after speaking to him I came on here and read all of these reviews.. horrified I called him back. Like an idiot I believed him when he assured me this was not the usual thing that happened, and there was "not way I would be charged more, unless I had a Harley or a washer and dryer." that I was "way below the minimum" that even if I had a few extra boxes, I wouldn't be charged extra. ALL LIES! However, at that time, I went ahead and scheduled my pick up, and had everything arranged. I informed my sales rep that I did not live in that state, and that I would have someone there waiting to oversee the pickup. At the pickup the driver calls me and asks me to pay, my reply is sure, where do I go to do that? Online, through customer service? Nope, this guy wanted me to give him cash or a money order. (BTW I am on the phone with him because I am in a different state). I had planned to pay for this with my credit card, I needed the furniture, and didn't have $1200 laying around. I tell him, there is no way I can pay for it, to go ahead and leave my furniture in my storage unit. I explain the whole credit card situation, he tells me, "no problem!" That the company will send me an invoice and I can pay online. I ask him again, are you sure? he assures me, that yes I can. (ANOTHER LIE) I am not sure how they measure out their quote and decide on what equates to cubic feet. I did inform him when I was on the phone of the larger items to ensure that I was giving an accurate size. But of course (per this company's MO) I was 89 cubic feet over my estimate. For that they are charging me $432. READ YOUR CONTRACT CAREFULLY ** ACTUALLY JUST DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. Anyways, it has been over a week since my furniture was picked up. I have been calling and calling to get in touch with someone, which is really hard to do. Ray was the hardest person to contact, and of course everything he told me was false, and I only have my word to go by. Finally today after me asking for it for 5 days now, I received an email to pay for my balance. It was a checking account and routing number. When I called to inquire about that, I was told there is no way they will let me pay with my credit card, because I will probably do a charge back.. I am now stuck in limbo, because I don't trust them to deliver my furniture. Even once they do, I am sure there will be more charged, such as the ones described in the other reviews. read more

ALL THE REVIEWS GIVEN ABOVE ARE 100% TRUE REGARDING OVERCHARGING, MISSING ITEMS, DELAYS, DAMAGES. First of all they are not at all professional in any way. Right from cheating and falsifying to get the business to pickup, delivery, packing etc. they just managed everything very poorly. Rich Woods & Peter (sales person) talked to me for my move and I gave my full detailed item wise list to ensure any hassles later on. I had specifically requested for a confirmed pick up and delivery dates for which this sales team assured me. They took 70% of payment for booking and was told that I will get a call from dispatch department one day prior to move. This never happend. I had to call up several times before I could know the expected pick up time. As soon the crew arrived they told me that my stuff is much more than will fit in the space assigned for me. THE CREW SAID THAT THE ESTIMATES I was GIVEN IS FOR 650 CUBIC FEET only and if my stuff goes beyond that I have to pay extra. They themselves also mentioned that the estimated size is usually for 1 studio bed - and mine was a full 2 BHK. I understood immediately that they are cheaters since I had already given a full list to the sales team on the basis of which they sent me the estimates and smartly added $650 cubic feet clause, which ofcourse as a layman I will never understand. ANd as expected no phone calls made to their sales team were returned. So only thing left was to manage with the crew on premises - which somehow I was able to do by having lengthy arguments. But If I say I was smart to manage these guys I will be a real big fool. Because what happened next was horrible. On my requested delivery date I made a move to my new apartment (in a new city) without any bedding, blanket assuming that I will be getting my delivery. But Poor me and my wife and 4 year child !!! WHEN I DID NOT RECEIVED ANY PHONE CALLS REGARDING DELIVERY I stared calling them when the dispatch guy told that they WILL PLAN TO SHIP MY GOODS AFTER 15-20 DAYS SINCE THAT IS UNDER AGREEMENT. When I pleaded telling my family situation they DEMANDED EXTRA $750. I had no choice but to agree. HOWEVER THEY STILL DID NOT SEND MY GOODS THE SAME DAY. They instead sent it 3 days later and added $750 to my balance. Now this made me furious as I had agreed to pay extra charges for the day I talked and this was already very much within their usual delivery window. But again I had no choice than to pay extra. I want to re-iterate that to survive these 3 days I had to spend additional dollars to arrange for blanket, air bed etc. besides paying the ransom amount. Important thing to note here is that I never asked for a same day or next daya delivery. THe delivery date I requested was after 15 days of pick up and the distance between my origin & destination city was only 70 miles. Another point for readers -- me and my wife argued a lot with them both while pickup and delivery due to which we still managed in an extra $1000 only. There ofcourse are damages to the items and I am not talking much about those here since the kind of harassment and agony that we suffered due to this move is far more painful than any damages caused to our stuff. I am currently investigating an insurance claim filed against this moving company. After reviewing the Yelp ratings, I would suggest all who have used this company and have complaints of theft, holding your property hostage for more money, poor service and have been ripped off contact the Illinois Attorney General's Office and file a complaint as well as filing a complaint in your home state where your personal items were delivered. These scam artists get away with this because they don't believe anyone will file a complaint and hold them responsible. Reputable moving companies hate these companies.... if they demand more money before they unload your items, call the police. There are so many dishonest companies and workers out there that the companies need to be put on notice and the industry regulated and monitored. BEWARE OF THIS FAKE COMPANY. I give negative rating to this.This moving company(guardian-moving systems)is one of the worst moving company I have ever seen. They give quote with less price initially. Once you accept and sign, from then their torture starts.. Starting from pick up until delivery.. During delivery time, they say all cock and bull stories that your residential area do not allow big trucks, we have to move the stuff one truck to other, and all. When I disagreed on additional charges , they forced me to sign the delivery sheet before they started delivery. To create confidence they open the truck doors as if they will start the work. I believed and signed the sheet and went to my apt to get the check.. They absconded from the location when I came back ... When I called customer care , the guy who attended my call was so rude , no respect to the customer at all and told that you signed the sheet , that means we delivered , you can't do anything by reporting police or court .. These folks are every bit as bad as the other reviews indicate. I have notified them 4 times now that I want to cancel my move. I have not gotten one single response from them . According to the contract I was supposed to get a 50% refund of the $419 I paid to schedule the move. Again, no response. Stay away from this company. They are rip off artists. read more

The worst experience I've had with any company I've ever dealt with. These people should not be in business. My move was contracted with International Van Lines and they were great to work with, but because it was a move cross country, at some point the shipment was turned over to Guardian Moving Systems. On August 24th they sent an email saying my shipment had left the warehouse and would reach me within 1-7 days; the dispatcher would notify me 1-2 days before delivery. 10 days later I made my first call to Guardian and was told my furniture had not left the warehouse. However, no one I spoke to knew where the warehouse was, so there was no telling how long it would take to reach me when it did leave. 3 days after that, I was told my shipment would arrive within 21 business days. 2 days later, it had not left the warehouse and still no one had any idea where the warehouse was. At 7:30 am the next day, I got a call from the dispatcher saying my furniture would be delivered at 9 am that day. Then he must have looked at a map - as opposed to looking at the original paperwork in which we made it clear that an 18 wheeler would not have access to our street - because he revised the time to 11 am and told me I would have to pay an additional $350 for a smaller truck. The furniture arrived (fortunately I had someone who could receive it since I'd had no notice and was leaving town) with two of the chairs broken and a mirror broken. I hope the information I am about to give will be helpful to who ever is thinking of hiring this company to move their thing. I normally don't write reviews but after the way I was treated I feel like people need to know what they are getting themselves into before signing any contract with this people. When I was looking for a moving company they were very nice to me on the phone, which made me put my faith in them.they gave me a price and told that I would be able to fit in about 15 boxes plus the rest of the things in my one bedroom apartment, which included my bed, couches, baby's crib, two TV's, center piece and TV stand, which I was happy to hear. Two days before the scheduled moving date I called to ask what time and day will the moving company be they could not be specific and was just telling me on the phone that I had to wait till call me. The movers came on a Friday at 4:45pm which was already getting dark outside, and as soon has the moving guy came to my apartment he informed me that I would need to buy additional space because my stuff would not and can not fit in the space that I purchased. He informed me that for an extra panel that I would need to pay close to $500 I informed him that I did not have such money (which still will not fit all of my items), I called the company and they redirected me back to go talk to the truck driver and they could NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME. After taking to the truck driver he informed me that even if I buy a full panel that all of mine and my daughter's things would still not fit!!!! So I purchased half a panel for $240. There were two movers who came to pack the items instead of three but he was nice to explain all the things that the company did not explain to me before signing a contact with them. He also informed me that if there was no elevator that I would be charged $75 for each steps which was CRAZY BECAUSE THE SALES REPRESENTATIVE DID NOT INFORM ME OFF ALL THIS HIDDEN FEES. When my stuff got to Dallas my husband received a call stating that we need TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL $400 FOR THE TRUCK DRIVER TO BRING OUR ITEMS OVER.... I CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE A FEW TIMES TO SPEAK TO THE SALES REPRESENTATIVE THAT I SIGNED THE CONTACT WITH BUT THEY KEPT PUTTING ME ON HOLD AND TRANSFERRING MY CALL FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER EVENTUALLY I WAS ABLE TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE AND ONCE AGAIN I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND I WOULD NEED TO COME UP WITH THE $400 extra being charged. We had to rent a U-Haul truck to go get the things from there truck since we were not going to pay for the extra money I was going to be charged . Upon getting the items all the boxes were dirty and there were scratches on the sofa that was not there before. I AM HIGHLY HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS COMPANY!!! I REALLY WISHED I HAD GONE WITH ANOTHER VENDO AND ALSO MADE BETTER RESEARCH BEFORE I HAD CONCLUDED MY MIND!!! I really hope this review was helpful. My first time ever using a moving company because my move is from NJ to TX. All of my belongings are sitting in a warehouse in NJ when they were supposed to be delivered 10/5. We never heard from he moving company yesterday to let us know our stuff wasn't being delivered and when we reached out to them, we were told that this is because we owed additional money for the pre-delivery deposit. However, we gave our debit card information to the driver, Alex, and told him to debit the account on 10/3. We even spoke with Alex on 10/3 and confirmed that he can debit the account. The account was never debited and we left a message for Alex on 10/4, but never heard back from him. We were told that they would have to contact billing and call us back. Didn't hear anything back until this morning and were told that the driver should not have taken our debit card info and now we have to wait at least 2 hours to get an e-mail with wire information and will have to do a wire transfer of the funds. Once the funds are received, they can release my belongings, but DO NOT know when it will be delivered to me because it would have to be when another truck is routed to Texas and they don't know when that will be! Horrible company, half our stuff was left here and now we do not know what to do with it. Make sure you don't talk to Jack Levy, I called 10 or more times today and was told he was on the phone and would call me back but that never happened. And each separate person I talked to said "OH NO", "REALLY, I WILL HAVE SOMEONE CALL YOU BACK IMMEDATLEY." AND "OK I WON'T TRANSFER YOU I WILL GET BACK TO YOU RIGHT AWAY". Nothing ever happened. The moving people were actually laying down in the truck, so this probably happens all the time! They also kept saying that someone was going to call back, but no one ever did! What I don't get is another moving company told me this was going to happen. So I called Guardian again and they assured me that they quoted right on the amount of stuff I had. But they only things they could put in truck was my sectional, bedroom stuff which was 2 end tables, a dresser and a mirror and bed frame! read more

What a nightmare! And, it began on the day of pick-up and continuUnderline (Ctrl+U)ed through the delivery.. The original estimate of $1700 somehow doubled ($3400) on the day of pick-up. It was literally a shock! I feel the original estimate is based on an underestimated cu.ft (402) at the lower rate knowing there is a good chance that'll change (600 cu.ft.) and be charged at the much higher rate. How do you challenge that (I want to know)? It was a basic one-bedroom condo move, with no large items such as sofa, appliances, outdoor furniture, etc. They also arrived complaining of the stairs into the unit and the glass shelves on the TV console. Things that were not asked about during the estimate process, so those were added costs. Then the "squeeze" at the end where they extorted to waive the packaging materials cost ($432) for a "good" tip. What recourse was there since they had already loaded everything into the truck and were holding it captive. Merchandise was taken to storage in NJ for what we thought would be 3 weeks while the purchase and sale of the new house was completed. There ended up being a problem with clearing the seller's mortgages, so there was a delay in occupying the house. Guardian Moving dispatch was notified and told they would be informed when the process was completed. However, WITHOUT authorization, on October 8 they loaded the merchandise and sent it and expected to deliver it on October 9. Where was this supposed to go? The purchase of the house was not completed until October 12. Once I was in the house, I called dispatch to have the merchandise sent. That took another week (October 19). I was then informed there would be an added charge of $600 upon delivery along with the balance due. Six hundred - for what I want to know? Yes, I expected a charge for storage as it was over the 30-day free offer. But, storage can't be that much per month can it? Am I being charged for the loading, unloading, and reloading for a mistake they made? When I finally received my merchandise, there was a bookcase missing, a broken queen-size box spring and a broken rocker. Just thinking about the headache of trying to put in a claim gives me a migraine. Furthermore, I'm just happy to be finally in my house with most of my stuff. But, the final straw was the deliver men asked and expected a tip and, granted they probably were not aware of what I had been through, it wasn't their fault. But I had to refuse as I had been fleeced too many times already. The total price of this move went from $1700 to $4,000. Is this realistic? After all was said and done, I tried to talk to the original salesman at Guardian who refused to listen and immediately transferred me to the customer service automated line. Trying to talk to someone there was also impossible. So, they left me no recourse but to write this scathing review. read more

No stars. They were so late to pick up that we had already done the packing and provided most of the packing materials ourselves. They packed three original oil paintings with frames in one box with nothing in between them. They lost three other original oil paintings worth a total of three thousand dollars. Everything took two months to arrive as they had put it all in a storage area in New Jersey. Everything smelled of must and mildew when it finally arrived. I had to wash or have dry cleaned every article of clothing before it could be used. They finally delivered on Thanksgiving day, after waiting two months. It was overall a horrible experience. I'm glad in a way that we had packed everything, or I'm sure much of it would have been broken. The gentlemen who did finally deliver were very polite, and that's the only nice thing I can say about this company. What a nightmare, and very sad to have lost some items with great sentimental value as well as monetary. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY read more
