We recently moved (less than a mile) and used My Movers. The owner came out and met with my husband prior to the move, provided a quote along with his recommendations on how we handle the move. He quoted $158 a hour for three guys with a two hour minimum. We were afraid the COVID-19 public health crisis would impact our move, but we confirmed several days in advance and the movers showed up right on time the day off. These guys hustled for a solid 5 1/2 hours (with my husband working right along side of them). We even encouraged them to take a quick break and enjoy the pizza we ordered, but they kept on moving. We were only moving a mile down the road, but everything was packed and unpacked efficiently. We took precautions of putting down paper and plastic over the floors and carpet at our new house and they took precautions as well. Everything arrived in great shape. Can't say enough good things about this outfit. Three great guys facilitate our move. They were on time, very courteous and genuinely cared about our stuff. To start off they took the time to see exactly what was going to be moved, wanting to know what was fragile, etc. The trio made this move seem effortless for us. They weren't satisfied until everything was set where we wanted and they were assured that we were satisfied. The entire move took less than three hours, that included moving a piano and a king size bed. The inside of truck was clean so there were no concerns that our belongings would get soiled and everything was covered then secured. The price was reasonable and to me actually seemed a bargain for what we got in return. The guys actually seemed to enjoy what they do and and took the time to get to know a little about us and some of our belongings. Almost everything was great. They were very quick in loading and unloading the truck. My biggest complaint was that they did not come out beforehand to see how much stuff we had to move. Not everything fit in the truck and we had to move a bunch of stuff ourselves - something we shouldn't have to deal with. If you hire them, have them come over to see how much stuff you have or overestimate the amount of stuff you have. read more

I have hired My Movers before and they gave me excellent service in a speedy, well organized manner. The second time I hired them however, I could not have been more disappointed. I needed my storage unit move into my house and so I asked for three instead just two helpers. I supervised the move, watching the third helper move slowly as possible, while not one of them tended packing the truck in an organized fashion. At first I thought it was joke, really?! I am paying for three guys just to talk. Just to prove how sloppy the movers were---they left my area rug outside in my back yard where it was rained on and ruined. I called My Movers and was told "they only do what you tell them to do". After I told them that is the most unprofessional way to handle this situation, two of them showed up at my house and took the rug to have it cleaned, however I have not heard from them for a week. Not only was the rug left outside but two of my glass items such as my glass riffle glass were broken. The answer to this was "things shift around in the truck". REALLY?!! Yes, things break when you do not load the truck properly! MOVERS: That is what the blankets are for and the many ties to hold things down--to protect from breakage. As a former pick up driver for Habitat for Humanity, I understand the only reason why things break in a truck, they were not handled properly. I felt extremely disrespected by the movers attitudes and how much I paid for it--on of top it. read more

Well, Travis and his crew just left after loading our entire house into a 26' Penske truck. It took them roughly four hours, which I find to be absolutely incredible. We used a professional three man crew to load the same size truck when we moved up here from Austin. We thought they were amazing, too, until today. Team Travis beat out Team Austin Guys by FOUR HOURS! Given that it was he same size truck, I am much less amazed with the Austin guys now. Either Travis and Co are actual magicians or those jerks in Austin screwed us. They were also more money per hour, those jackwagons! It's not like the Austin guys were sitting around doing nothing, either, it's just that Travis and his guys are actually that good. I whole heartedly recommend My Movers. read more

Owner Tom seems like an honest business man although his quote was almost $1000 off and he failed to mention a 4% charge for using a credit card (who has almost $4000 at move time). Unfortunately he put his trust in his head mover Clint. Clint refused to do what Tom promised. Tom backed Clint. Clint took out his dismay about my call to the "boss" by threatening to quit this move. I wish he would have He took it out on my belongings. Lots of damage. New baby clothes tossed on top of household cleaners, lost antique clock keys, wedding dress was wadded up and stuffed in box with garage items. Metal trash can on top of good crystal etc. Ruined lamp. Furniture damaged. Complaints too numerous to list. My compensation: almost enough refund to cover the unexpected sir charge to pay with credit...but not quite. Never again! read more

I recently hired My Movers to move personal belongings from my Mom's Assisted Living Facility to a storage unit close-by. In addition, there were two pieces of furniture that had to be taken from her place to my home. Then they helped me drop off furniture from my home to Goodwill on State Road 23. I live in a close-by subdivision in Granger. I asked the owner (Tom) if he would mind. In that you pay by the hour starting from when they leave their parking lot to when they return, Tom said he had no issue with the additional stops. Travis and Chris were on time and worked hard and efficiently. There were also a couple items that they had to shrink-wrapped at my request for a nominal charge. They were both very personable and made this move so easy for me. My Movers was also very cost effective. I would highly recommend them! read more

I was moving from a very old house to a brand new house. The movers were not so careful at the old house, but were great at the new house and did not bang up the walls or anything. The movers were also professional and polite. Beware - they calculate the time that you have to pay based on from when they leave the warehouse (8 am) until they return to the warehouse, minus 45 minutes for lunch. And, the time rounds to the nearest 15 minutes in their favor. In our case, during their break, a car ran into their truck so they had to spend time filing an insurance claim with that person. I paid $145 per hour for them to do that. On top of that, they returned to the warehouse at 2:20 pm and rounded that to 2:30 pm instead of 2:15 pm, later than they said they would on the sheet that we signed, so we had to pay more for that. If you enjoy being nickel and dimed, then by all means, call My Movers! I definitely do not recommend this company. read more

We had a two men show up - I originally wrote two man team but that would have been inaccurate. They did not move as a team two independent people. I must state I have moved over 30 times in my life so I am no amateur to the task. When I originally put the data in for the quote we were not sure if we would be able to move anything prior to the move date - however we were able to move stuff for 2 weeks prior. So we had pretty much all the kitchen, all the clothes all the bathroom and 50% percent of the living room moved prior to these guys showing up we had less than 15 pieces of furniture and no more than 20 boxes plus a few pictures/mirrors. When the men showed up they were nice and friendly but the first comment was this should take 7 hours (they had not been in the apt yet) I said oh no no where near that amount of time - we already moved the majority of the stuff. Mind you I have moved a time or two - it should have taken no more than 2 hours to move this stuff if they worked together - they only team carried 5 things. So all the stuff in every drawer was flipped 180 and on the edge which was fine for the single floor adventure but when they pulled up the nice furniture upside down up 18 stairs with no help from the other person that edge on the furniture was taking a beating. And after every time up we had to have a pretty long rest period to catch breath. No consideration for the furniture really. Eager to just write a damage claim. They milked the clock like no other. They wanted to be sure the 7 hour estimate stayed. I will never use them again as a result. Also they gouged the bed frame pretty good and broke one of the ikea like pieces of furniture by slamming it up the stairs. weeks later I still have not seen the person who was supposed to handle the damage claim. I do not recommend due to this experience - had I got the same team I had in 2017 I would have said good company, but I sure did not. Paid 925.00 and it should have been more like 500-600.00. We hired My Movers to move our daughter from Indianapolis to South Bend. They were supposed to arrive at 8:15 in Indianapolis; when no one had called or shown up at 9 I called them only to find out that they had to dispatch a truck all the way from South Bend at 7:00 a.m. that morning and wouldn't now arrive until after 10:00. When I questioned why no one called to tell me that the young man on the phone got nasty and said he had been out of town for a wedding all weekend and didn't have time to call (I would have thought they would have called me after they called to dispatch the south bend truck at 7 that morning). He went on to further say it doesn't really matter since the charges would be about the same anyway - he clearly didn't take into account that he was costing me 2.5 hours on the back end since I couldn't leave until the movers unloaded in South Bend, and because they didn't get to Indy until 2.5 hours late that meant they didn't leave the unload at South Bend until 2.5 hours late. I called and talked to Tom the owner (who is also the dad of the rude man in Indy) who said it wasn't their fault because they were all gone at a wedding and didn't get home until late Sunday and said he had discounted the bill by $50 so what else did I want? A $50 discount on an $1100 bill didn't seem like much of an apology, but when I said I really just wanted him to be aware of what happened he said he already knew and it wasn't their fault. Horrible management leads to horrible employees and bad business - no shocker these people are all related. Do NOT use them!!! read more

His crew, which included his two sons, showed up on time and were quickly at work. This was a HUGE move (3stories of packed boxes and lots of furniture plus 4 major appliances from basement. We were more than pleased with the professionalism and speed and care with our items. They quickly put us at ease. Tom called back almost immediately and asked for a run down of everything I had in my apartment- he have me a VERY reasonable price and said he needed to see everything in person before the move just to make sure we were right on with the quote. I called him and told him I would be in SB for an hour one day and he said, "No problem. I will rearrange my schedule to give you an estimate." Tim owns the business and he was so knowledgable and pleasant I had to go with My Movers! I was so pleasantly surprised to see his two sons show up 15 minutes early on the day of my move to look over everything and get a game plan going. I recently relocated from South Bend to Cincinnati. The move was for a 2 bedroom apartment and we got their help for packing, loading, and unloading. They are a family owned business and did a fantastic job from start to finish. They were very personable and professional throughout the whole process. It was a tricky move as our new place had a very narrow entrance and three stories. We received a quote very promptly after a quick inspection. We had a crew of two (the owner's sons) help us with everything. The packing was very prompt and they did a great job with all the fragile pieces (e.g., china, crystal) in our home. The loading and unloading was great as well and they did a great job caring for all our belongings. It was also clear that they were very experienced, managing to get all our belongings into a tricky new home with very narrow hallways. Overall, great service for a very reasonable price.
