Teachers here are not interested in making friends with students (although it does happen) Their only goal is to teach students and make them smarter. Sports are a serious business here. Not only do they care about stimulating the mind, they also are huge believers in motivating and nourishing the body. Spirituality, although I am not a religious person (at all...) it never bothered me while I was here, they teach in a subtle and not in a "in-your-face" type of way. They had a more practical approach to it. They were really demanding, and wouldn't accept anything less than excellence from their students. If someone was falling behind, they did a good job at reaching out and helping out the student in any way needed. Good education, good people, good establishment.

We truly appreciate the collaborative approach that they have with the parents and they encourage our involvement with activities. The teachers are well trained and in tune to not only the cognitive and educational development of the children, but also the social emotional as well, which is something HUGE for me! Our twins have been coming since they were three and it's so heartwarming to see the teachers all love on them and know them by name and share the funny stories about their day to day interactions with our kids with us as if they were members of our own family. Greater still is that OUR kids know the teachers by name--even the ones that aren't even theirs! There's such a beautiful sense of community and care. I'm so heartbroken that we aren't finishing out the year as we are relocating to the east coast come March. But I can't recommend New Hope Preschool enough to parents searching for a loving, nurturing environment where the faculty are skilled in all facets of child development. I am a huge advocate for childcare programs that help foster both emotional developmental and academic growth, and New Hope does just that . The kiddos work just as hard on their counting and learning to write their names as they do on exploring the world around them through cultural days, art and even up-close encounters with ladybugs and butterflies! After being home with me for 4 years, my twins started in Mrs. Rainys classroom last year. The amount of growth they had in that year really set them up to succeed in Kindergarten this year. They are some of the youngest students in their class and are already reading above grade level! Mrs. Rainys is a wonderful teacher and my youngest can't wait to have her next year like her big sisters! This year my youngest daughter started at New Hope in Mrs. Wickham's classroom. Mrs. Wickham is one of the original teachers that started the program and you can tell she loves what she does and truly wants the best for each child. Mrs. Johanna is also in the classroom and even though she started mid-year, she jumped right in and has been wonderful! My daughter loves school and wakes up asking "is it school today?" We've seen amazing progress in our son's independence, confidence, and curiosity since starting here. One of the things we really love is the app they use. It keeps us updated throughout the day with photos, activities, and even meals, which gives us such peace of mind. They also go above and beyond celebrating all the holidays. Whenever I asked what was wrong or what had happened they would brush it off and no one knew anything. I moved her to another preschool and she started thriving socializing and not being anxious for school. My daughter is kind and to see this school take away her smile was unacceptable. We have had a lot of unique situations, restraining orders etc.. Which meant lots of phone calls and documentation and lots of extra work for the staff. In the back and forth domestic situation, the one thing that remained was, we always always always felt that they were completely safe at Door to the Future. Ms. Jeanette and her amazing staff went above and way way beyond. The boys have learned so much there. They are not even three yet, They know their colors, their alphabet and their numbers!! They are so amazingly smart and have completely come out of their shell. **UPDATE** 2019 The twins are now 5 years old, they stayed at Door to the Future until they went to kindergarten. It broke our hearts for them to go out into the big world they were so safe and happy there. It's clear that they learned so much because at Door to the Future, they are FAR ahead of most of the kids in kindergarten. They are actually reading books already. I wish they could've stayed there forever in the safe cocoon of love and understanding at Door to the Future!
