You have to give 5 stars for the FLASHBACK CINEMA!! Although, everything else is pretty great for a small theater. I've seen so many older movies here. From Top Gun to My Fair Lady, I truly enjoy these movies on Wednesdays and Sundays. The prices are fairly reasonable and better if you're a VIP member. The theaters are always clean and never packed with people. They parking lot is shared with a couple great restaurants so dinner and a movie is a convenient date night. They have the best employees. Local kids and one named Joseph has been the best. He's knowledgeable and really helpful. Overall, my theater of choice. St. Simons is a busy island but the theater is a chill place to go when you've had enough of the beach for the day. read more

This was an opportunity for us to take a break from our heavy schedule of sightseeing on the island to just relax as a family and watch a fun movie. This theater was clean and comfortable, with a fair number of film offerings. Like most movie theaters the drinks and popcorn were fairly expensive but we enjoyed them. We have no complaints. Recently went to Island Cinemas after being here for just under a year on SSI. I found the theater to be nice and clean with a friendly & helpful staff. Good spot to catch a show either to pass some time, doing something when weather is iffy or catching a flick you want to see. read more

You would think that Island Cinema would be showing Dumbo for the kids. Schools are out today, it's Easter weekend, so a 1:15 showing would be good. Even one of the other kid friendly movies could be shown earlier. Missing Link for example. With that said, Island Cinema is a great place. Clean and friendly staff. Georgia Theater Company Island Cinemas is a big name for the small the movie theater located on the Island; but they do a good job with the 7 screens they have. With so much other stuff to do on SSI the Island doesn't really need a big theater. When we were visiting it was a really "gully washer" of a rain storm and since most activities we usually enjoy are outside we decided to give GTC Island Cinemas a chance and check out a new release. The staff here are super nice and do a great job from selling you tickets at the box office, concessions at the snack bar, to directing to you to the theater of your movie from the ticket taker. They keep the theater super clean throughout. read more

Staff is usually very nice. Prices are within reason for a movie theater. Popcorn usually tastes fresh. My only complaint is that it's 2020 and they don't have reclining seats. Most times i watch a movie here it isn't a problem. But last time i went the ladies behind me thought my chair was their foot rest. The new movie seats really help with this issue. Please get some new seats. read more

Nice theater, has a local feel to it. Seats are comfortable, popcorn is tasty, and the price is just right.

Only theater on SSI. Good for convenience and it never seems to be packed. The thing about this theater is remember what kind of people live in the area, so you won't be seeing action movies being played here for a month after it's release. read more

I saw Basic Instinct 2 here and I didn't really like it. So, I'm giving this place 3 stars because that movie sucked.

The only movie theater on the island and they do a good job. There aren't many screens (can't remember exactly...) so it feels like new releases are quickly gone but every time I've gone here it's been enjoyable. read more

The new concession stand is fantastic, the staff is helpful and fast. They offer pizza and pretzels now and both are really good.

Massive technical and customer service failure by Island Cinemas 7 - Georgia Theater Company on Sunday, May 24, 2015. The audio center channel did not function for most of the 8:00 pm showing of Tomorrowland in theater 3 of Island Cinemas 7 in St. Simons Island, GA on Sunday, May 24, 2015. Despite the staff being informed at least twice of the problem (by myself) and assurance the problem would be corrected, numerous customers were left wondering what the dialogue was between the cast of Tomorrowland for most of the movie. Beyond the inability to correct the problem, staff did not offer any apologies (much less movie passes!) to numerous unhappy customers. As a matter of fact, no Island Cinema 7 staff was even visible to those leaving the theater. Georgia Theater customers expect much better from Island Cinemas 7 - both in the theater's ability to show a movie and in their ability to treat their customers in an appropriate matter. read more

It is nice and clean. They have a little trouble posting correct show times for big releases but that is okay. The problem with this place is the sound! Honestly the computer I am typing on provides louder, richer sound than I experienced while watching The Force Awakens. That was a pretty big let down. Service and prices were very good. read more
