Festival admission is free, but there is a daily parking fee for the island, which was $15 on the day of the festival, $5 more than on a non-event day. The festival is held in their historic district. The roads are blocked off. I love that it's set up this way. It's way less chaotic, and visitors don't have to deal with trying to avoid both vehicles and crowds. Vistors staying off-island can park at designated spots at the airport and take the shuttle to the festival. We brought our bikes and parked our vehicle at Great Dunes Beach, which was less than a two miles bike ride to the festival. The festival was incredibly well organized and clean. There was a hand washing station and both porta potties and restrooms are located throughout the festival. There were ample tables and chairs set up. Lots of shaded areas. If you wanted to eat picnic style, bring a blanket. There was plenty of lawn space. Lots of food vendors and other options even if you're not a shrimp and grits fan. We were there on a Sat between 11 am - 3 pm. It's less busy in the morning, but the vendors we visited were very efficient, so even if the lines were long, they moved quickly. We thought the food prices were reasonable for the portions. For beverages, you should walk around first since a can of pop/water can range from $2-$5. Same with the beer. There were two main places selling beer for $7/ticket. But if you want a Budlight, you can get one at the Snack Shop of $4. There are live music, tons of festival merchandise, and local crafts & food for purchase from the Artist Market vendors. There are also permanent shops such as Cotton & Copper & Doc's Snack Shop located on the festival grounds. If you've never been, it's definitely worth checking out and not too bad of a drive from JAX.

There are bands set up in 3 locations and they estimate 45,000 people come. It cost $12 to drive on the island and then parking is just a school bus ride away from a parking lot. We brought our bikes so we found parking and biked in; our preferred mode. We bought shrimp/grits from Jekyll Island Club resort, said to be best of show for $12 but they had all kinds of food-pizza, burgers, hotdogs, Latin Fusion, ice cream, cookies, funnel cakes etc. we then biked down to beach and saw some cool kites.. Something good they have done here is build a large walking/biking path at the ocean to get people out and about!

A great way to cool off. There's also a wonderful Mosaic Gift Shop with plenty of offerings. The same building serves as a base for the Landmark Trolley tour. It is a 5 star hotel and has under 50 rooms (43 to be exact). The lobby is gorgeous with dark wooden fixtures, carpets and comfortable couches. We were there in December and the Christmas trees were decorated beautifully. As soon as you arrive at The Lodge, you are welcomed by name and escorted to your room by a butler. I loved the European feel of the Lodge and each room was made to look like a room in a European castle. The artwork reminded me of Belgium and so did the heavy wood. The intent was to look like an English manor, even though it was actually built early in the 20th century. As you enter your room, your have a walk in area with wet bar, Nespresso machine, ironing board that pulls down from the closet and closet area. The bathroom is then also off of the main entryway and has dual sinks, classic metal handles and a pedestol tub. The shower was a huge walk-in shower made of marble and the handles reminded me of something from London in the early 1900's. The toiletries are by Milton Brown. As you then step into your bedoom, the Lodge will cleverly put on the Golf channel during turn-down service at night. Cookies are also part of the nightly service. The bed was very comfortable and I really enjoyed the patio with chairs that overlooked the water. It was all very peaceful and serene. The sitting area in the room was also nice and there was a big desk to work. The ceilings are made of wooden beams and add elevation to the room. I did feel like I was staying in another country and truly loved my stay. Each night around 5pm, a bagpiper marches up the field in front of the patio of the Lodge. You can sit on an Adirondack chair and listen and have an evening cocktail as the sun sets. Dining: There is the Oak Room which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Colt and Alison is the high end steakhouse serving dinner with a view of the golf greens. We had a fantastic meal here and Chef Danny is very talented. We also enjoyed breakfast and lunch in the Oak Room. Another interesting tidbit I learned is that you can take one of the BMW 750 series that is parked in the front of the Lodge and drive it over to the Cloister and other part of the hotel. The goal is to get you to test drive and this has turned out to be very profitable for this BMW dealer. I did not get a chance to make it to the Cloister and would like to go next time. The staff was amazing and the service everywhere was excellent. There is also a little gift pro shop with golf wear, souvenirs and high end sunglasses and apparel for sale. I highly recommend this resort for a quiet getaway and Southern hospitality.

have always loved this place, cozy comfy bar, fun atmosphere. tonight i witnessed a man repeatedly…read moresend women over to make advances on a girl after spending thirty minutes speaking with her boyfriend and then immediately cutting him off when finding out they were together. he then sent several women over the course of the night to make advances on his behalf which she politely rebutted and became clearly more and more uncomfortable. she then tried to be polite to him and asked if he would take a group photo of her and her friends. he told her and i quote "f**k no." and she said okay... and asked someone else. then she said something to defend herself. she nursed a drink the entire night and had one or two shots and was not intoxicated. she tipped the bartender ashley who was rude, slow, and deliberately mistreated her friends afterwards at least 100% of the tab. the man aggressively followed the woman out of the bar and threatened her and continued to be aggressive. she left and called the police, who the bartender, clearly a girls girl and supporter of locals essentially called her crazy after being harassed all night, over tipping for slow service and then having enough of a creepy man. this remains my favorite bar but i will not return if ashley is working. not only was the service slow, but once the girl left she ignored her friend and was rude to her for the following 45 minutes, essentially running her off. the best bar in brunswick tainted by a stain like that. witnessed first hand while she treated locals like trash and an out of town trucker like an innocent after i watched him make her uncomfortable all night. extremely disappointed. this establishment is and has always been much better and safer than it was tonight. i didn't even feel comfortable saying anything for fear of retaliation myself. will always love boondox, but hire women who protect men and women alike in a bar, as a bartender with any training should. no means no. it ran off her, her boyfriend, myself, at least 2 others and im certain the girl who was left when i decided had seen enough. bartender should be ashamed. watch your bar. keep your patrons safe.
