When I attempted to protect my PII and asked the office to use the insurance phone number to verify benefits, they suggested I pay out of pocket and submit a reimbursement claim to my insurance. At the time I was young, 23, and not especially assertive. Dr. Tahir checked me out and approved and I was on my way. I'd had no idea what had happened until I got home. Today, every time I run my tongue along that second-to-front tooth, I am reminded of this mistake that went unaddressed. This was an expensive set of braces.
