I am so excited to finally write this review after a full year with our big guy. We are…read moretraditionally dog people but are getting older and no longer have older kids at home to help with large pets but we were very attracted to the idea of a Bengal because of their higher than usual energy. We were hoping for a good middle-ground between running dogs every day for two decades and a fat house cat and we really feel like we got exactly what we were dreaming of and so much more. Her kittens were impeccable and we can't even believe how lucky we got with our male. He was instantly affectionate and loving towards us. My husband was very wary of cats and believed all of them were skittish and stand-offish. I had a childhood cat and remembered them being easy to own. I convinced him to let me get this kitten after our last dog passed because he was so gorgeous and as masculine as a sweet kitty could possibly look. We were so impressed with Dad when we met him in person and our little guy ended up looking just as handsome now that he's almost fully grown. Even other bengal owners are always blown away by his unusual coloring and shine. This is a cat even my husband is so proud to own after years of telling me cats were for women. Lol They are best buddies and sometimes I feel like I bought my own dream cat but my husband was the one who ended up with the best friend. He has zero negative health issues and has only needed to see the vet for regular vaccinations and altering. We have so much comfort in knowing that he has only eaten human grade food as we have continued the breeder's extraordinary meal plan. We have been a lifelong long kibble and canned food combo users and we had absolutely no idea how low the quality of food that is allowed to be given as animal grade even in the most expensive pet food. Our aunt just lost her sweet male cat to a urinary blockage and we had no idea how common they are in cats fed commercial foods. We take him everywhere with us and he is a huge comfort to me because of my anxiety. Everybody wants to interact with him and love on him and he really takes a lot of pressure off situations for me. I have never known a cat to be so willing to greet a large groups of people and people can't believe how calm he is. We did take the breeders advice and alter him before sexual maturity. He has never even once had an accident outside the litter box or on grass at home or in public. After decades of puppies I was ready for months of potty training. I had no idea how incredible a well raised kitten is at using the litter box exclusively. It was an absolute dream transition bringing him into our home. He has changed my life. We have not gotten a second bengal only because we love so much that we are able to travel with him and worry that flights, imposing on friends when we stay, etc would be too difficult with more than him but I am so tempted every time I see your posts of new litters. We have been life long animal adores but we never knew we could experience a bond with an animal like this. Thank you so much and to anyone considering a kitten--I couldn't imagine a better one in the entire world than the one I adopted from them.

Bengals inherit a strong drive and confidence from their wild ancestors that overshadows the timid nature of domestic breeds. Our mission is to show animal lovers everywhere that when bred for temperament and raised carefully, Bengals are a dog-comparable emotional support or therapy animal with more manageable space and maintenance requirements. Our Bengals adventure without fear, possess the energy and drive to flourish with intensive training programs, and have an incredible capacity for human companionship. We produce a very small number of kittens as individual attention and socialization are the cornerstones of our program. Avoid spending the first months with your new pet battling the issues caused by profit-focused large catteries. Our kittens have- -Age-ap vaccines/multiple dewormings -Completed litter box training -2 weeks of frozen Raw-diet that the kittens have grown up on to transition them -5 day viral warranty -1 year guarantee against detrimental congenital defects Our kittens are the very best in pet-quality but are only for pet and therapy animal homes—we do not sell with papers for show or breeding. It would have…read moresaved me two hours more after 8 hours of drive time... better for M2 my German Shepherd puppy/son. She bathed his lustrous fur coat, and he was a happy puppy who was so well behaved during the entire drive home through the Sierra Nevada Mountains back to Reno/Tahoe area. Lisa had all his paperwork and gave me a bag of food but now he eats all natural fresh baked wild game meats and organic fruits and veggies. Today M2 gets to experience snow for the 1st time in his 20-week life. He is SO LOVING and loves to cuddle with dad (me) but loves to ferociously play fight while growling at dad. He had his final shots today so, in 10 days he'll get to experience hiking off leash in our mountain area where we seldom see a human or dogs... just coyotes, bear, deer, rabbits and beavers... and YES I carry a tactical weapons belt and survival gear and, I will protect M2 with my life. I love this boy beyond the heart's imagination.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE…read more Update: After posting review below, I received an extremely hostile iMessage from the owner. She called me "disgusting," accused me of thinking she was "forging health records" because I asked for verifiable OFA numbers, and added an implied threat: "You're lucky my husband was not there." All Messages saved. --- Original Review: I contacted Oak Glen Kennels (Yucaipa, CA) about a German Shepherd puppy. My plan was simple: visit first, review the paperwork in person, think it over that night, and if everything checked out, come back the next morning and buy the puppy. I wasn't shopping for entertainment -- I was ready to purchase. Before driving 2.5 hours, I asked for basic proof (OFA hip/elbow results and the written health guarantee). She refused to share documentation by text and told me that in "29 years" she's rarely had anyone "demanding documents" and would only show them in person. At the visit, she pressured me to commit immediately and said, "Who drives 2 1/2 hours just to look at a puppy?" When I insisted on normal due diligence, she got hostile and later texted, "You're calling me a lier like I'm faking paperwork. Good luck!!" If this were a one-time transaction, I might have still taken the puppy. But if anything went wrong, I'd potentially have to deal with this breeder again -- and based on how she handled basic questions, I walked away. Beautiful puppy. Completely unprofessional, high-pressure behavior. If you want transparency and a normal buying process, avoid.

If you're considering getting a Pomeranian from Mathews Bitsy Pomeranians, run by Jacqueline…read moreMathews, please read this carefully--and take the time to filter Yelp by the lowest-rated and filtered reviews. That's where the real, unfiltered experiences live. Mine is now among them. Just two weeks ago, my beautiful Pomeranian passed away suddenly at only 5 1/2 years old. She went into cardiac arrest during a routine vet visit. There were no signs beforehand--just a healthy-appearing, playful pup who was suddenly gone. The vet techs tried everything, but they couldn't bring her back. We had a full autopsy done--my vet kindly paid for it because we were all so shocked. The results showed a rare heart condition (Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) ) thickening of the heart tissues usually found in cats, one that's nearly impossible to detect until it's too late. She also had tracheal issues, which I've since learned are common in poorly bred Pomeranians. You cannot outrun genetics, no matter how much you love your dog or how good your vet is. This is a condition inherited. When I first met Jacqueline, I had an uneasy feeling. I asked for health documentation, and she dismissed me, saying: "Why would you need that? They're healthy." I asked to see the puppy's parents and was told, "Why do you need to see them? You don't always look like your parents." When I heard loud barking from what seemed to be her garage, I asked if there were dogs back there. She denied it and said she didn't hear any barking at all. Eventually, she brought out the mother, but only at a distance--it felt staged and uncomfortable. Her answers were vague and evasive. She couldn't tell me exactly how many dogs she had, only that some were at her girlfriend's house, some here, and others "somewhere else." It felt like she was hiding something. It felt like a backyard breeding operation. After I bought my dog, Jacqueline continued texting me pictures of other puppies she had for sale, asking if I or anyone I knew wanted to buy one. She always seemed to have a steady stream of Pomeranian puppies available, which raised even more red flags. Where were all these puppies coming from? How many dogs is she really breeding--and in what conditions? Despite my gut feeling, I had already fallen in love with my pup. I waited a month to bring her home. During that time, I started having nightmares, and eventually found the filtered reviews here on Yelp. I confronted Jacqueline about them, but she insisted they were written by "competitors trying to sabotage her business." I wanted to believe her, but I no longer can. Too many stories, too many patterns. And now, I'm living one of them. Please--if you're looking for a dog, adopt. There are so many animals who need loving homes. But if you absolutely must get a purebred, find a breeder with merit and ethics--one who breeds to show, not just to sell. Look for breeders who health test, who can provide transparent records, and who genuinely care about the dogs' well-being--not profit. Just because a dog is AKC registered does not mean it's been genetically tested, responsibly bred, or isn't the product of inbreeding. Don't be fooled by registration alone. I adored my Pomeranian with all my heart. She brought me so much joy, and her loss is unbearable. I will never support Jacqueline Mathews or Mathews Bitsy Pomeranians again, and I hope that by sharing this, I can help others avoid the same heartbreak.
