I have gotten two of the sweetest most amazing dogs from Cindy! We purchased out first dog in 2005…read moreand our most recent in 2014. Both pups! The first one was raised with a kitten brother and is awesome. A couple years later we had our first kid and our sweet boy was always amazing and patient! Friendly and respectful dog, truly a once in a lifetime dog! He has had some bad teeth BUT as owners we didn't do the best job with daily brushing. Schnauzers are prone to dental disease, so it is what it is! Our latest pup we got as a companion for O! He is super sweet and the best playmate and love bug to my older dog and children! Both are strong and smart and very confident! You do have to socialize most dogs and Schnauzers are no exception! At the end of the day, I'd buy from Cindy again! Btw- dogs, like humans get sick! How we care for ourselves and animals may determine how sick and if our natural disposition toward illness is activated.

I was stunned to read these reviews from heartbroken owners, because so many have identified the…read moreexact same medical problems my 8-year old male mini schnauzer has been experiencing. Two weeks ago, our vet had to remove a mass from his leg which turned out to be a soft tissue sarcoma. Just prior to that, he had to have 14 teeth removed as a result of periodontal disease that caused severe bone loss in his jaw. There were no outward signs of the severity of his condition. Unfortunately, our pet insurance covered none of these procedures (costing us $2,600). He was also had to be placed on a special low-fat prescription diet after he was diagnosed with high a tryglyceride count in his blood. Although we didn't adhere to Cindy's recommendation of a raw food diet (we tried, but no), we have been feeding him nothing but high quality grain-free food and fresh veggie snacks since he was a puppy. I thought he was just unlucky, but now I'm realizing that his medical problems were most likely inherited due to poor breeding practices. Unlike many of the reviewers, we actually picked him up in 2009 at Cindy's ranch house in San Jacinto. Our kids were young, but even they remember the filthy conditions and the flies swarming around the property. We have always felt as though we had rescued him from some pretty deplorable conditions. Cindy was not a particularly pleasant person either, but none of that really mattered at the time because he was such an adorable puppy. Although he is a people-friendly, loving family dog, we were never able to get him to socialize properly with other dogs. We enlisted the help of a trainer who practiced positive reinforcment techniques and who came highly recommended by local dog owners, but she eventually quit on us because of his inability to adapt. Our next schnauzer pupply won't be coming from Mountain High Miniature Schnauzers.

There certainly are very valid reasons for only selecting an experienced, reputable breeder, and…read morehere are a few. Von Muntz Rottweilers in Plant City FL was one of two breeders we chose that had experience and an excellent reputation, also had what we would consider a fantastic bloodline. We have owned large breed dogs for over 40 years, and the criteria we use most is health when choosing a puppy/breeder. The show stuff is nice but really not very important to us. Unfortunately, we were faced with getting on a waiting list with no promises from either breeder. Von Muntz offered us puppies from her female with an inexperienced breeder in California. (Inexperienced was how she described this breeder to me). We were concerned about logistics and the stress on the puppy so we declined initially. We eventually contacted the breeder in California Vom De Gracia- Jaime, who assured us it would be a smooth transaction and the puppy would be fine; he would take care of everything. We watched videos of all the pups and chose one. Valid reason number one! We requested a direct flight and were willing to pay any additional cost. Jamie attempted to book a flight through Washington with an overnight stay, then direct to Boston. I don't believe he had ill intent. Just inexperienced. When Von Muntz in FL was made aware of this, she informed him that it would be hazardous for a (not fully vaccinated) young puppy to overnight in a kennel with other dogs. She gave him advice on what airline to use and we were able to book a direct flight. Valid reason number two! He promised us health records on the parents but only provided documentation for one. Valid reason number three! Two hours into the flight we received a call from Jamie, letting us know we would likely be getting the wrong puppy. I asked how this could happen. He initially blamed everything on the airlines, then, in subsequent conversations, expressed to me in retrospect he concluded it would be prudent to bring someone with him the next time he ships dogs. I can't say who screwed up, but at the very least, this is one reason to not ship a dog from out of state. The airport was in another state and it was an all-day trip for us. Remember that we just put down our nine-year-old male Rottweiler four weeks earlier. My wife and kids came along for the ride. This puppy was adorable, and we immediately began to bond. It appears that the puppy we chose went to New Mexico. Jamie was apologetic and said he wanted to make things right. The problem is I don't know how you can adequately correct a mistake of this magnitude. Make the dogs travel in the belly of the plane again? What kind of environment was my puppy exposed to? The interactions must be limited until your puppy is fully vaccinated. Would I have to travel back to Boston and lose another day? Was the right dog going to be delivered this time? These were challenges Jamie and I could not overcome, along with the fact that my family had already bonded with this dog. The dog we received we were told, was the pick of the letter, chosen to be a working dog. Remember that this does not increase our value and could be a disadvantage in some ways, considering we only want a pet, just another family member. However, I told Jamie if we were happy with the dog we would be happy to pay him an additional $500 (Going rate for his pick of the letter) it's really not about the money for us. Having not received the health documentation and now the loss of confidence we decided to wait... Well, here we are three weeks later. We love our new puppy but have no records. We don't know the parents' health or what shots to give him when we go to the vet. Jamie has become condescending and sarcastic and demands we pay him $500 before he releases any documentation. Buyer, beware. Dog, wonderful, business transaction sucked

Throughout the entire process, she consistently communicated with us and always replied whenever we texted for updates or photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dog was reactive to people, other dogs, motorcycles, bikes, and more, and we already saw such a huge improvement even on the car ride home. You can tell how much time, patience, and care Carissa puts into her training. Carissa even met us halfway to pick her up as we lived a little far from her. When we picked our dog up, Carissa spent over an hour teaching us everything we need to know to continue reinforcing the commands and training at home. She made sure we felt confident before leaving. She even offered to come to our house afterward if we struggled with anything, which really shows how dedicated she is to both the dogs and their owners. We're so grateful for all her hard work and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trainer!

We used Cari for a 2-week board and train for our dog, Chorizo. During the training period,…read morecommunication was limited and we often had to follow up ourselves to get updates. At the same time, we were seeing our dog being posted on Instagram more than we were getting direct updates, even after we asked for them. She pinned Chorizo on her Instagram, in the number one post slot, while we hadn't heard from her in three days and didn't even know he was going on a field trip. This was especially difficult for my wife, who had recently lost her father and was already going through a lot. Being separated from our dog was hard on her. We asked multiple times for updates so we could reassure her, but it never felt like we were getting the same level of feedback other reviewers experienced. The training experience didn't match what we expected. Recall still needs work, and "place" became more confusing. Before, he would go where I pointed. Now he tries multiple spots and flinches (expecting a stim), even after we bought him a cot. We asked Cari to introduce Chorizo to our e-collar (EZ Educator). During the consultation, she mentioned that he would learn recall and other commands to near perfection before the e-collar was introduced, and that vibration would be used before stim. The handoff only showed e-collar stim commands, and vibration was not introduced. His recall without the e-collar still needs work. We never received a clear breakdown of what he was working on during the program and mostly followed his progress through Instagram. After pickup, I had to follow up just to get a list of commands. The handoff felt rushed. He was exhausted, it was a hot day, and she had forgotten a water bowl, so a lot of the time was spent just letting him drink water. There was no follow-up afterward to see how he was doing. A few hours after getting him back that Friday, we took him to a groomer who pointed out a cracked toenail down to the quick and irritation on his neck from his e-collar. The groomer said the irritation looked like burns from an e-collar that hadn't been rotated and advised us to monitor his paw to make sure it didn't get worse. We took it easy and avoided taking him out while he healed, but by Tuesday his paw started bleeding. We notified Cari and let her know we would be taking him to the vet after my scheduled surgery. I had carpal tunnel release surgery on both hands that Wednesday, and I took him to the vet while recovering on Thursday. He developed an infection and a fever that required sedation, nail removal, and stitches. This whole experience is not what we expected after reading her Yelp reviews. Even trying to work things out with Cari regarding the vet bills, after we negotiated the cost down with the vet and insurance covered a significant portion, was disappointing. We weren't asking for everything, just something fair. The procedure cost about $900 if the dog is sedated. We asked her to participate $350-$380. She offered $100. When I told her that Chorizo was at the vet because his paw was bleeding, her response was, "Ok thank you for the update." We weren't able to reach an agreement and were told, by Cari, that small claims court would be the best way to resolve it, which is what we are now pursuing. Regarding our training equipment, we also had to follow up on two leashes and e-collar prongs that weren't returned after the program. She told my wife she broke the retractable leash and would send a replacement right away, but a week and a half later we still haven't received confirmation that it's been sent. (Edit: retractable leash and prongs received 3/31 via Amazon Prime.)
