Before, she was unable to be near other dogs, couldn't let her off leash unless we were completely alone, and constantly worried about her in public. He taught us how to correctly read her and understand her so we could then set her up for success. He used lots of desensitization, counter-conditioning, and reinforcing positive decisions to communicate to her the correct response to things that scared her. We are able to reinforce her trust in us now, and now have gained priceless knowledge for both ourselves and her. She has been able to greatly reduce any anxiety and stress she has and we now have a much stronger bond and can see a visible difference in her. We are thrilled with the work Clint did with her and how he gave her and us the training to allow her to live in a much happier, stress-free, and confident place.

This business is unable to trim his nails without heavily sedating him because it is easier to medicate rather than just working quickly with care. I don't think my older dog even knows he's at the vet, he just thinks he's having a cookie party with some nice people! My younger one is absolutely terrified of vets, and they're so gentle and slow with him. They let him take all the time he needs and are great about talking to you before they do anything, figuring out the best approach, and doing whatever is best for the dog. Especially Amanda. We love Amanda! Another bonus is that they have several great vets on staff. They're able to specialize in different things and collaborate with each other so they can cover all their bases. My young dog even got a specialized procedure from their orthopedic surgeon. He would have had to wait months for an appointment with a specialist somewhere else. All around, they're super accommodating, kind, and will take their time to get things right and make sure everyone's comfortable. That's the most important thing to me for a vet.

We have been taking our pugs to this clinic for the past six years and, until recently, have always…read morebeen satisfied with the care they received. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was very disappointing. One of our pugs had been suffering from diarrhea for three days, so we brought her in seeking medical attention. We were informed that no veterinarian was available at that time. When we asked when a doctor would be available, we were told there would be one in the office that afternoon, but there were no appointment slots available. We then asked about scheduling for the following week and were told there were no openings then either. She was very rude and inconsiderate of the situation. In addition, we noticed that the clinic has significantly increased its fees. According to the pricing posted on the door, a walk-in visit now costs $90.00, and several other fees have also increased. As longtime customers, this experience left us feeling that the focus has shifted more toward generating revenue than providing timely care and support for loyal clients and their beloved pets. When a pet is sick, owners want to feel confident that their veterinary clinic will do everything possible to help.

CORPORATE GREED OVER AN ANIMAL'S LIFE: Deceptive Staff and Cruel Reneging: Please, if you love your…read morepet, stay far away from Opelika Animal Hospital. After taking over $20,000 from us to care for our 7-year-old Pitbull mix, Excel, over the last four years, this corporate-owned clinic left him to suffocate on their floor because of absolute greed and staff deception. Our dog was in severe, life-threatening respiratory distress-wheezing, coughing violently, hacking up foam, and unable to stand. We have nationwide insurance through PetsBest that covers 80% of his care, which includes an emergency direct-pay hardship form that wires the covered balance within 3 to 5 days. For weeks, the front staff neglected to send our dog's historical files to the insurance company, lying about the dates they sent them and telling us it was too much of a 'hassle' to fill out. When we physically carried our limp dog into the clinic today, the veterinarian looked at him, heard what her staff had put us through, and promised us on her word that she would accept our insurance form and treat him. Wiped out financially, I scraped together our last pennies, and my mother selflessly provided the remaining 20% co-pay ($125).Minutes after paying, the doctor called us back, sounding incredibly nervous. She reneged on her medical word. She admitted that the clinic was no longer run by locals-it had been bought out by a corporation, and her corporate payment director was refusing the insurance form. They demanded the full balance completely upfront, handed us useless medication we already owned, pocketed our last $125 for a 2-minute 'glance,' and forced us to wheel my suffocating dog back out to the car. They do not care about animals; they care about corporate margins and profit quotas. They left a suffocating dog to die because signing a piece of paper for verified insurance funds was a 'hassle.' Run the other way and find a local, independent vet who actually remembers their oath.
