When we picked her up, her fur was matted to the skin. I believe they didn't brush her properly and cage dried her. Not only that - there was also a cut behind her ear where they trimmed her hair. We gave them our number for the groomer to call us and they never did. We didn't receive any kind of explanation or a refund, which would have been the right thing to do. We ended up taking her to Moore's Mill Animal Hospital (which also has a grooming service) and they were able to get most of the mats out. Some of her hair had to be trimmed on her back. However, they were wonderful and we'll be taking her there from now on. I am livid. The lack of professionalism is appalling and I trusted them to take care of my dog. If they can't find a proper groomer or have better practices for caring for their dogs, then they don't need to be in business. It was a very horrible experience and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I boarded my kitty for July 4th weekend; it was her first time being boarded. When I picked her up, she was skeletally thin, which I did not notice until I took her out of her carrier when I got home. Granted, she had lost a little bit of weight before I brought her for boarding, but not a noticeable amount. I had already planned on taking her to the vet as soon as I was back in town, but I was never notified during her time at Pet Palace that she was not eating (it was pretty obvious to me that she had not eaten those 4 days for her to be so skinny). I may have come back sooner to pick her up and take her to a vet or requested that someone drive her to a local vet at my expense. She ended up being diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis, which you may know is a fatal disease in cats. While I have been able to treat her for it, if we had known even a few days earlier, I would have been able to start treating her earlier, and she may not have been hospitalized for three days or needed a blood transfusion just a couple days after picking her up from Pet Palace. I am not blaming Pet Palace for giving her FIP; this isn't the case at all. I'm just really disappointed with the lack of communication and hope that this is not something that happens to any future kitty parent who boards with Pet Palace.

I don't think my older dog even knows he's at the vet, he just thinks he's having a cookie party with some nice people! My younger one is absolutely terrified of vets, and they're so gentle and slow with him. They let him take all the time he needs and are great about talking to you before they do anything, figuring out the best approach, and doing whatever is best for the dog. Especially Amanda. We love Amanda! Another bonus is that they have several great vets on staff. They're able to specialize in different things and collaborate with each other so they can cover all their bases. My young dog even got a specialized procedure from their orthopedic surgeon. He would have had to wait months for an appointment with a specialist somewhere else. All around, they're super accommodating, kind, and will take their time to get things right and make sure everyone's comfortable. That's the most important thing to me for a vet.

Before, she was unable to be near other dogs, couldn't let her off leash unless we were completely alone, and constantly worried about her in public. He taught us how to correctly read her and understand her so we could then set her up for success. He used lots of desensitization, counter-conditioning, and reinforcing positive decisions to communicate to her the correct response to things that scared her. We are able to reinforce her trust in us now, and now have gained priceless knowledge for both ourselves and her. She has been able to greatly reduce any anxiety and stress she has and we now have a much stronger bond and can see a visible difference in her. We are thrilled with the work Clint did with her and how he gave her and us the training to allow her to live in a much happier, stress-free, and confident place.
