Ground Tech came out to our back yard which is very tight and hard to get to and did an awesome job taking down 4 Huge Trees all 2-3 foot in diameter. I have used Groundtech in the past. They have done a reasonable job in cutting trees down. Recently I paid to have a large tree cut down and the stump ground and removed. While the owner wanted to be paid in full when the tree was cut down it took several weeks for the stump to be ground. I was told this was because the machine needed to grind the stump was broken. Also as a result of supply chain issues, the part was difficult to get. I was told several times that the stump would be ground but it was not. Finally the owner of Groundtech used a third-party to grind the stump. The stump had many wood chips as a result of the size of the tree. I was told by the owner to let the stump grounds settle into the hole that would have been left from the machine. After some time we had the wood chips removed. The intent was to put in some topsoil and lay sod. When the landscaper arrive to do that he informed me that the stump was not removed that in fact up to 4 inches of the stump was still above the surface. I informed the owner of ground tech who became extremely hostile and aggressive and suggested that the landscaper didn't know what he was talking about, that the material above the ground were roots. After several weeks of back-and-forth communication primarily by text as the owner would not answer the phone, he finally had the person who originally worked on the stump come out and assess. This gentleman was extremely apologetic and said certainly that the stump should be ground far better than it was. He did the job very well and to my satisfaction. While the owner shared that he was having many personal issues, my disappointment with Groundtech was a result of the unprofessional way in which the owner spoke and/or texted with me on every occasion deflecting "blame" without having even seen the stump, the fact that it was not done properly and blaming me for waiting too long to remove the chips and the landscaper for not knowing what they were doing. As a result, while tree removal has not been an issue, I will never do business with this company again as a result of how I was treated by the owner when some thing did not go the way he had hoped. If he had just come and looked at the stump as I requested numerous times this could've all been avoided however he chose instead to be antagonistic and accusatory with me his customer. read more

Needed two trees trimmed. The tree in back yard was growing to close to neighbors deck. They trimmed the wrong side of the tree that didn't need trimming. Have been calling them for weeks. Can't get any one to return my calls. That's $ 450 wasted. Never use this company!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Groundtech Tree Experts just happened to be in my neighborhood cutting down neighbors trees. I spoke with Mike to see if they could squeeze me in. I only had one tree to be trimmed but the branches were extremely large and high. It was an frightening thing to watch, but one by one with this great pully system, the branches came down with no problem. The crew was very polite and clean up was the best. I used this company to remove trees on two different occasions. Mostly, I didn't have any problems with Mike. However, the last time he worked here, they cut down a large Tree in our front yard. They were supposed to cut the stump with a level top. It is anything but level He did this Tree in Nov, 2017. I have repeatedly asked him to level the large stump. He had all kinds of lame excuses. I have asked him to do this. He promised, but its now been 7 months, and he NEVER showed upo. Yes, he wants to do do nice big jobs, but i8f he is asked to come back and fix something; he will not. I do not recommend anyone to use him. He refuses to take care of this, and it would only take him literally 30 minutes. Spread the word. You cannot trust him, and he is nasty. read more

We had 4 trees cut down next to our newly built garage. Our fault for not having this done before construction. This put the workers in a tight situation. They did a wonderful job. They were fast and made sure they did not damage anything. Once they were finished they walked around with me to make sure we were happy. I would recommend and will use them again in the future when the need arises. read more

I hired Groundtech to reduce the height of an oak tree, but leave the beautiful 40 ft. climbing hydrangea alone. The hydrangea took at least 40 years to grow, was beautiful and the "pride" of our rear gardens. The owner of Groundtech had been to my house three times, and provided a written quote specifically listing what we wanted to be done. The owner told me he would be present the morning of March 29, 2017 to make sure all went as desired. He was not. Instead he had a "crew supervisor" with a four man crew. I asked the supervisor if he knew what to do. He responded that Mike, the owner, had told him what was to be done. I also asked the supervisor if his crew knew what to do. Again, he said they did. Apparently they didn't, because within a very few minutes of showing up one of the crew went over to the oak tree, and before I could stop him he started his chain saw and cut into, and completely, through the major artery of the hydrangea at the base of the tree. I was livid, but by the time the worker stopped cutting he had condemned the full growth of the hydrangea to death. The artery he cut completely through branched up the tree which fed 75% to 80% of the growth which meant it all would die. The supervisor apologized and said "I'm the boss here, this is on me. There was a lack of communication". My wife and I decided to make the painful decision to have the tree taken down, which was not our desire, but since the extreme damage had already been done, and could not be repaired, we felt we had no choice. Again, the written quote from Groundtech specifically listed what was supposed to be done. As the tree was cut down several large sections were allowed to "free fall" leaving my back yard looking like a mine field with several large "divets", and damaged areas that will need dirt filling and reseeding. I spoke with Mike, the owner, and he said he would make things right. Since he was not available to come to my house for several days we made an appointment for him to be at my house Wednesday, April 5, 2017 between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. I called the night before April 5th and left a voice mail message reminding him of the appointment. Mike never showed. I waited until 1:00 p.m. and he never showed and I never received any contact whatsoever. I have left two additional voice mail messages on his voice mail and have yet to receive the courtesy of a return call. So much for "100% customer satisfaction" as listed on Goundtech's web site. I held up my part of the bargain and paid Groundtech their quoted price Mike said he needed my funds to "make payroll". I have nearly three acres of property, 95% of which are woods. I've utilized tree service companies in the past, including Groundtech, and was satisfied. That's why I hired them again. I'm sure I will need such services in the future. I WILL NEVER USE GROUNDTECH AGAIN! I would also be very hard pressed to ever recommend them. To ignore customers, especially repeat customers, by not even returning phone calls, is, in my opinion, both unprofessional and insulting. read more
