One of my faves not only in town, but in general. You'll love Teddy and her staff, as much as the delicious and diverse range of treats. From decadent chocolates to baked goods, lattes, smoothies and more. You can do gluten free, vegan or keto here... and who knew any of those could taste THIS good. Love the book lending/giving shelf, the seats which range from comfy to private to conducive to great conversation, including those overlooking New London's town green. Here you can also access the internet. Have a seat inside or out, and enjoy a thriving Main Street walking and driving by as you sip or eat your Grounds treasures. Teddy is all about quality, community, and service... and it shows. For those of us who live locally, this is a beloved staple. For those who don't, Grounds is a fabulous find. I had a such a lovely experience visiting this store. The staff are warm and welcoming, the ambiance is cozy with a little whimsy and they have a wonderful selection of baked goods, chocolates and sweets to choose from. The town is really sweet too. This is NOT a coffee shop. This is retail store that sells coffee. Not the same thing. This place has all the ambiance of a car wash. The ceiling is loaded with 5000K, super-white LED lighting that is so bright that surgery could be performed on almost any surface. And what's with the fake, multi-color fireplace with the two chairs cozied up on either side? Customer service was really great, but the owners of this place really need to visit an authentic coffee shop to see why their shop comes up short. Even a mass-produced Starbucks is warmer and more inviting than GROUNDS. While the Americano I ordered was decent, the muffin was very stale. Big disappointment!! Will never go back. read more

We stopped in on the way out of town and I absolutely loved our experience! The regular coffee and iced coffee with a pump of toasted marshmallow were both tasty, but the vibe inside the shop was what put it over the edge. Both workers were incredibly friendly and kind. I absolutely love this cute little coffee shop. It's located in a small town and it's so welcoming. I have been here a few time and have enjoyed every minute. The regulars dedication is so awesome. I sat there drinking my delicious latte with my sister and we listened to the older gentleman that go there every. They were so happy to have this place to met with one and enjoy their coffees. With this I thought to myself that it was so cute for them to have a place to relax. We also had a muffin and a coffee cake. That is on another level of yummy! I have given people from my wedding party a gift card so they can have a chance to experience a great place like this! P.S the owner ROCKS!!! read more

This is a great hole in the wall coffee shop that also has house made gourmet chocolate desserts. They have different flavor coffee that will not disappoint. And for your vegan friend, there are bakery choices in addition to different nut milk choices. They also have gluten free baked goods, which is amazing for such a small town. The ambience is also great to just relax and drink your coffee/smoothie or bring your work and catch up while enjoying the company of the other customers. We went here because I saw all the reviews about their gluten free baked goods. I got a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin as well as a peanut butter brownie and they were both amazing! We also got almond milk lattes and they were delicious, not to mention the ice cubes were made of coffee so it didn't get watered down. If we're ever in the area again we'll be back! read more

I recently ordered some gluten free cupcakes for my friends Birthday. I have to say these were by far the best cupcakes I have ever had Gluten Free or otherwise . I highly recommend the Coconut and the Lemon which are the 2 flavors I ordered , I am certain all flavors would be fantastic. They also make quite possibly the worlds best coffee drinks . Lovely local coffee shop with the BEST homemade chai around! Nice selection of homemade GF items that you'd never know were gluten free, as well as lots of other treats. Also the only place that sells Howell coffee (if you know, you know. Fancy. Tasty. Worth it.) Cute outdoor seating to watch the town go by. Teddi, Sandrine and the girls are amazing! I love coming to grounds for my delicious dairy free coffee (mocha java is hands down the best!) and Teddi's homemade gluten free treats! Sometimes, I am craving the coffee or the treats (okay most of the time), but sometimes I just like to see Teddi and Sandrine! As soon as I step In to Grounds, it's an instant pick me up! Then I noticed that the baked goods were being unpacked from BJs club boxes. Wow. Ordered chai latte. As I was waiting for that, ate a piece of dry, tasteless "croissant". I was pleasantly surprised to find this welcoming little bakery and coffee shop on my last trip to Northern NH. The wait staff were open, friendly and very accommodating. The menu included gluten free options (yea!) and the muffin I ordered was very good. The coffee choices were numerous and my chia late was yummy. The shop had a nice ambiance and was strewn with comfortable chairs and couches, which I took full advantage of after a long day of hiking.
