a cup of cappuccino on a wooden table

During my stay here in Midland, this coffeeshop was the best thing that ever happened. Probably one of the best coffee shops I've ever been to in terms of decor & how spacious it is, the actual coffee and the freshly baked goods in house. 1. Drinks. I tried almost everything on the menu but really liked their matcha love smoothie. It is SO delicious and so healthy too. I also like their matcha latte, get a large cause it's not that much more expensive and the matcha is better dissolved. They make everything with almond milk too so that's another plus! 2. Service. extremely friendly and kind. When I asked to heat up my drink they kindly just made a new cup for me! 3. Atmosphere. Lots of natural lighting cause the space used to be a bicycle ship and got lots of windows. Lots of tables to work on and free wifi! I can't rave about this place enough. One of the gems of Midland for sure.

Amazing coffee shop! Excellent food, free wifi, and the new location on Bay Street has a virus of the bay, lots of light and more seating then the old location. This is the best coffee in Simcoe County. It's worth the drive to Midland just for a capuccino at Grounded! They sell freshly roasted coffee beans too.

Review Highlights - Grounded Coffee

Learning that there was no starbucks in Midland, ON where I would be spending 3 weeks for work was potentially devastating and dreadful all at once..... But then, I cam across Grounded Coffee Co.

On the way to find a late lunch in town, we walked past this place ..... and then immediately…read moreturned around and went inside. The reason? A sign I could not resist: "CHOCOLATE COVERED BUTTER TARTS." Yes please. Inside, it's a very charming chocolate shop, with a lot of different creations. They've got shelves and pretty displays of candy, a large quantity of fudge (which actually seems to be one of their specialities, they offer free samples) and then a lot of truffles and other chocolate covered things. So, we picked up a couple of chocolate covered tarts. They have a variety of tarts and coverings. I had a plain tart with a salted caramel chocolate covering, and Lee had a plain chocolate and butter tart. One minus is the checkout is a little chaotic. There were a group of kids waiting, and it was a little confusing who was serving who, but we got it all sorted out. Later, we had these for dessert. Chocolate covered was a little bit of a misnomer. They're more chocolate topped, and the chocolate, while tasty, was a thick disc covering the top, which made it a little awkward to eat. I ended up just eating the disc separately. However, it was delicious, and that awkwardness shouldn't dissuade you from giving this place a try.

I'm Italian…read moreand I love espresso and pastries so of course I was here every and I mean every, morning during my snowboarding vacation. I brought many friends with me and we all LOVED the coffee and pastries. The SERVICE was absolutely amazing, many of the employees were super helpful, passionate, caring, happy, and actually wanting to have conversations with you! They remembered my name and greeted me with BUG SMILES!! Thank you so much to the staff in this establishment! Also, the esthetic/ambiance was super cozy, warm, light and felt like a great spot to eat, drink, have a conversation, date, and even watch the busy staff making pastries, serving and drinks. Thank you for the hospitality and excellent service.

We had the chocolate croissant (5/5) which was buttery and flaky with the rich decadent flavour of the chocolate. The chocolate cookie (5/5) was a delight. It was soft and perfect for those looking for a nice sweet treat. The nutella ice cream latte (5/5) was so good. It wasn't overly sweet which was enjoyable. The iced americano (3/5) was decent. It's more on the acidic side which I'm not a fan of but I still enjoyed sipping on it. The service was fast and both ladies that worked at the espresso bar and at the counter were friendly. Overall, such a great spot if you're in town for a cute cafe that will help you wind down and relax.

If I lived in Gravenhurst, I could see this being one of my favourite little places to hang out…read more When we first walked in, I loved the retro/hipster vibe to it. This place is heaven for your inner geek. Old school board games, a pac man machine and a war-hammer painting station line the walls and floor of this place. We ordered a London fog from the counter. I was excited to see a beautiful selection of teas, there was definitely an emphasis on oriental teas and not as much variety as say, a David's tea but still very nice and a lot of nice lattes and mixed tea drinks on their menu. The London fog was actually fantastic and different from any I've ever had and the girl serving us was bubbly and nice. The strangest and most interesting part of this place has to be the single barbers chair and barber cutting hair at the back of the store. This guy has his own little studio at the back of this coffee shop and it seems to be popular. One of the servers had to turn away a client and said that he was booked up for the day. All-in-all this is an eclectic place that I feel prides itself for it's uniqueness. It's warm and welcoming and if you make an appointment, you can also get your hair cut!
