This is such a cute addition to downtown New Bedford. I was excited when they first opened and I still love going here. It's super cute, clean and colorful in here. They always have fun new specials and tons of food and beverages to chose from. You're sure to find something you love! The seating here is cozy too. I tried a 16 oz sized hot Crème Brûlée latte with coconut milk. If you're a caramel macchiato fan this is the closest I can think that it tastes like. The barista that assisted me must've assumed I wanted iced so when I saw they brought it out - I then asked if they can make it hot please. The barista did not complain -- just said no problem which I can appreciate especially as a person who has worked in customer service. Black Americano is solid 5 stars. They roast their own coffee beans. The coffee ship is beautiful! It is by the water, they have limited seats, indoors and outdoors. Weekends are so busy; for a good reason. They bake all their pastries in house. The staff can be overwhelmed and snippy. Made a little Sunday roadtrip to New Bedford to check out Ground Floor Coffee. First and foremost, the staff at this coffee shop were top notch in terms of being friendly, welcoming and helpful. A good initial sign! The coffee shop is bright and right on the wharf in downtown New Bedford. The main coffee shop area has some booth seating available and then a back room has more benches available for additional seating options, as well. I went for a cup of hot coffee which was piping hot and flavorful while my wife opted for the vanilla caramel iced latte; she raved about it and noted it to be excellent! We split a piece of apple coffee cake and all of the pastries looked to be quite good. In addition to the baked goods, breakfast sandwiches could also be ordered and we'd look to try one if back at Ground Floor in the future. I had a really disappointing experience at Ground Floor Coffee Shop. The staff came across as overly sensitive, yet completely dismissive and rude when it came to actual customer needs. It felt like there was a double standard--plenty of concern for themselves, but very little respect or understanding for the people supporting their business. I was there with my 4-month-old daughter, who uses a gentle bird sound machine to stay calm. Instead of showing any empathy, someone behind the counter told me to turn it down, which felt unnecessary and inconsiderate given the situation. It's frustrating to see so many coffee shops popping up around New Bedford acting like they're high-end or above everyone else, when basic customer service is clearly lacking. Exceptionally strong coffee that taste great, I usually just get an iced latte while my wife tends to get one of their flavored options or rotating specials. Staff is friendly and there's plenty of seating, great place with a chill atmosphere to get some work done away from the office or home. Not a complaint but I wish they stayed open a bit later, like maybe 7 or later. There's no good coffee in the city after 5pm! Also they don't ask for a name on your order or provide an order number so when it's busy and people start ordering the same drinks it can be a bit confusing when orders are called out, just my two cents... 10/10 Happy to have such a great option for coffee here in New Bedford read more

Love this little coffee spot right on the water. On a nice day you can sit on their outdoor patio and watch the boats. I got a crème brûlée cold brew and an egg & cheese sandwich, both really good (you can add any flavoring to their cold brew!). They have lots of spring specials and Wi-Fi if you need to get some work done. The staff was a little rowdy and loud but I think they were just having fun together on a Saturday. Went here on Monday July 15th 2024 to eat something before we headed to Martha's Vineyard via the seastreak boat that is nearby. It's a cute little cafe with booths, and tables both high and low to sit at. i got a chocolate chip muffin, and an iced coffee with mocha, my mom got an egg sandwich, and my dad got a bacon egg sandwich. food was overall good and very filling. We were also helped right away, and paid via credit card. Some issues with the sandwich was that my mom ordered the egg sandwich without bacon, and it had bacon on there, that was sort of crispy. We ate everything, because we wanted to eat, but pay attention if the customer don't want something. I enjoyed my muffin, and coffee. Would come again if we are ever in the area. read more
