Both were very good The hot chocolate and mocha are made with actual solid chocolate so it is very tasty I got the halloumi wrap here without egg and it was great. A small walkway through the cafe's busy kitchen takes you out to a quaint, rustic style courtyard to sit, relax and enjoy a coffee & brunch with friends to escape the busyness of the world outside. Ristretto & Co. is a local favourite, renowned for its seamless Campos coffee and menu offering a wide all day breakfast menu. We chose a couple of favourites and were recommended to try the waffles - every instagrammers dream! We enjoyed corn and zucchini fritters with aioli, avocado salsa and a poached egg, which had a lovely crunch, yet were still light and fluffy on the inside. The serving was very generous so despite being full, was hard to resist finishing. We also had the smashed avo (with a side of bacon) just to lighten things up which was nice and fresh with the hint of lemon. To satisfy our sweet tooth, we tried some waffles served with vanilla gelato, shredded coconut, salted caramel sauce, fresh berries, maple syrup & Persian pashmak! The presentation of this dish was beautiful with the popping colours of the berries atop the glistening maple syrup and the delicate pashmak on the top. It was hard to pull this one apart! Although this was very sweet, the flavours and textures worked well together and left us very satisfied. We thoroughly recommend visiting Ristretto for an amazing breakfast/brunch.

Now....the pasta...looked great when it came out and smelt good but oh boy oh boy was it salty. You may think it's fine but I found it to be way too salty, I still ate some of it but I could not finish my food. The pasta was well cooked and not overcooked at all, so I cannot falt that. As I mentioned you may all find it delicious but it wasn't for me. The place is always busy so do not expect to get table without a booking, you will be waiting a little while but the staff do try their very best to find you a table if you do not have a booking. Bookings are super easy, I did mine via Opentable app and got me 100 points just for making a booking. Plenty of parking as the cafe is inside Flower Power.

We came on a Sunday around 11:30 am and she'd made a reservation. Reservations are recommended on weekends as the cafe had a very long line when we arrived. The staff seated us immediately after arriving and were prompt in giving us waters. Menus and ordering are done with QR codes. My husband got the açaí bowl while I had the halloumi salad. Both were very delicious and servings were generous; I was only able to finish half of my dish. Would recommend coming if you're local to the area.

That's not good as a start Well, we have 4 different food here, Chia Pudding $14 Coconut infused chia and sago , damn sexy, tasty and refreshing. Fig, grapes, mandarin, passion fruit and lime sorbet accompanied and blended harmoniously on the bowl. Burrata & Jamon $15 Another sexy flavour and beautiful presentation. Italian Burrata Cheese, cured Spanish ham ( Jamon), autumn stone fruits, hazelnuts and olive oil. This was a nice salad! Chicken & Waffle $14 The most let down dish among 4. Waffle a little eggy ( maybe a little under cooked and soggy) and fried chicken wasn't crispy-either. Mapple Hollandaise also way to little to be enjoy as a sauce to accompanied the whole dish. Note: doesn't taste the Mapple on the Hollandaise! Hangry ( yes, Hangry!!) Plate $22 All the goodness of bacon ( unfortunately burnt on one side), chorizo, scrambled egg ( soft, creamy and fluffy!!!), halloumi, hash brown, mushroom, tomato, spinach, cherry tomato, and sourdough ( one side was blonde and the other side was over caramelized ). I would said, the most complete dish; fat, carb and protein, with portion of fruit and vegetables. Yes, people... tomato is a fruit, not a vegetable! I wish everything was perfect today, I would give a full mark, 5 Stars!

Their coffee is fairly strong (left my hands all jittery one night), and if you have a bit (read: a lot) of a sweet tooth, I recommend the Caramel Latte, or the White Hot Chocolate. Black Rose also does fantastic, thin, crispy pizzas and delicious wedges, if you're feeling particularly peckish. The staff is friendly, and their eyes fairly light up if you ask for an alcoholic beverage, almost as if they're just waiting for you to get drunk and rowdy so that they can have an exciting night. The cafe is usually very quiet during the day, seeing as it's somewhat nondescript and doesn't appear to get much traffic, but that in no way lessens the quality of their fare. At night, though, it gets a little busier, and you won't have to worry about the cold on a winter night, because they have a nice big toasty heater in the middle of the outdoor seating area. Drop by and make their night with some drunken behaviour!

A very picky diner might frown at the bread rolls being room temperature rather than warm. The lack of traditional dipping oil was also a minor oversight. However, these transgressions were forgotten when the Calamari was served. Seasoned to perfection and you could taste the freshness in the soft rings without a hint of chewiness or strings. This dish told the entire table the Chef was an artist and we eagerly awaited the main courses. I tried the wrapped chicken with capsicum sauce. A fairly plain dish, but perfectly cooked. Tasty and nicely seasoned. However, the short rib was in another class. Perfectly cooked medium rare, with a thin crusty skin. The meat fell off the bone and melted in the mouth. This was the Chef fully meeting the expectations set up with the calamari antipasto. The exceptional short rib exposed a problem with the 'alternative seat' catering methodology. While I didn't hear anyone complain, I did feel those with the chicken missed out. Both mains need to be evenly matched up and I do wonder if a seafood dish might have been a better choice. But maybe I'm just being pedantic. There was nothing but happy diners in our party, so any quibbles I mention are largely irrelevant. The service staff were busy and attentive. The wine and beer flowed freely and we never felt neglected. The settings were functional and attractive. A large screen TV scrolled through photos of the birthday girl and family. A table was supplied for the cake and our party of 45 mixed and chatted between 3 tables with plenty of room. Warmed up bread, dipping oil and my quibble about main selection (more likely a customer choice rather than the venue) are the only visible weaknesses I could find in an otherwise perfect catering experience. The Black Rose Cafe knows how to nail a fantastic party. If you enjoy an Italian experience and want first class food, I can thoroughly recommend this cafe. It's a jewel.
