This place is as good as it gets for lunchtime sandwiches in my opinion after only one visit, my wife and I are both fans. Saw many great reviews online and decided to pay this deli a visit today. We shared a couple different items and were delighted with our selections. Shared a dipper sandwich as well as a Reuben. Both sandwiches were extremely tasty and served on excellent bread. We received stellar service from Nora today . She truly helped with our selections. Her courteous and friendly service were very much appreciated. It's pretty good, the waits can get crazy if you hit it at the wrong time but I think that pretty much anywhere nowadays. Whether you're dining in, ordering to go or catering for lunch it's always tasty. The staff is always friendly but the ambiance doesn't scream sandwich shop. This Groucho's Deli location stays pretty busy! I highly recommend getting there early before the lunch hour hits full force. My little family and I got there in the middle of lunch rush on a Monday and it took a while for our food to come out. Once it came out though, it was superb! I love Groucho's and always have since I went to college at USC. I used to always order the Pink Moose, or the Apollo Dipper, but this time, I went with the Reuben Variation and found a new found love on their menu! It was very yummy & really hit the spot. "Great food" covers it, but I'll give some more detail. That's not to say that it's wrong. It is great food. My customer suggested Groucho's as an alternative to the fast food joint that I had been frequenting. Good choice! A very quick look at the menu and my eye was drawn to the first thing on there - the Apollo Dip. Ham and turkey with melted cheese. It was heavenly. Not the largest portion, but the right size for lunch. I left full but not stuffed. As for why they call it that, I have NO idea. The sweet tea was excellent. Tip: Try to avoid the peak lunch rush. The courthouse is nearby and it can get rather busy during that time. read more

As soon as you walk in you feel like you time travel back to the 80's. The location might need some renovating but it's kind of a neat atmosphere. Most of the sandwich options are pretty delicious, can't go wrong with any choice really. It does seem like this location is ran by teenagers so service isn't always the best but I usually get my food to-go. Prices are good and I guarantee you'll feel satisfied almost every time you choose Groucho's Deli. (with the food) read more

This is one of my favorite places to stop for a super good salad. My wife's salad bowl with formula 45 dressing is top notch. It's a HUGE salad with tons of meat and cheese, plus tomato, cucumber, and of course lettuce. It's absolutely delicious and honestly I've never ordered anything else there, but their sandwiches do look good as well. Customer service is great. The parking situation is awful though as the parking lot is always full. read more

I've been eating at Groucho's Deli for 25 years or more. They typically have great salads and sandwiches. But the Lexington location has consistently had terrible service for the past five years. I have given them feedback privately several times in the past. It seems to make no difference. I'm beyond second chances after today. I ordered an Angel salad with feta for take out. It was 30 minutes late from the pick up time given. After getting home I see my salad has barely any turkey, no tomatoes and no feta (which I paid extra for). I was so put out with them I called for them to make another salad to replace it. The person on the phone tells me my total...what? You mean you're charging me for a product that you screwed up to begin with? She then tried to shame me for returning a salad! I wouldn't have to return it if they didn't mess it up in the first place! I just told her never mind. I am so done. It's a salad not rocket science. The last time I ate there in person was ridiculously bad too. I ordered a chicken power salad. It took an hour for it to come. And then when it came it was smaller than a typical side salad. I asked the server why is it so small. She said it was because they only had small plates and were out of baskets. Really? Not even kidding! I cannot even fathom giving that bad of service! I prefer supporting local businesses and I believe in second chances, but we are way past that point here. I will not be back to this location. ***I have never had this problem at any of the other locations. They all have fantastic service.*** read more

Not sure what's so special about the special sauce, but it is special. I dip my chips in it before inhaling an STP Dipper along with a gallon of sweet southern nectar (tea). Oh, and they have that really good ice that the iron deficient crave. Trivia: this is called pica. Parking gets tight on a Sunday because all the neighboring peeholes have reserved spaces. Some specifically state "not Groucho's parking." You can park on Main and walk through a dark alley to Groucho's side door. The alley is safe - not rapey at all. read more

This morning, while at Momma Rabbit's Nibbles and Sips, my wife, our barely 2 year old son and a friend were told by who I assume to be one of the owners, that if she was not able to "quiet" my child down, she would have to "take him outside" for fear that he make start to "rile other kids that were there up, and we can't have that". My son, who, again is barely 2, sat in his high chair the entire time, threw not one piece of food on the ground, and sat as politely as a 2 year old could, occasionally cheering "YEAHH" whenever our friend or my wife did something he found entertaining. YES his voice was elevated the few times he cheered, YES there were SIX other children of varying ages in the restaurant all making noises (as all children do), YES it is a very casual restaurant serving breakfast and lunch, and YES there was a grown man sitting at a table near them talking on the phone, on speaker I will point out, for several minutes. So to say that both her and our friend were shocked would be the understatement of the year. We have visited this restaurant on countless occasions, with friends, with my wife, with my children, purchased freezer meals from them, done our parts of supporting a small local business, all to be told to quiet our child down who was making far less noise than many other people were in this restaurant. My wife spent most of her young adult and adult career working in and managing numerous successful restaurants spanning an almost 11 year period. I am appalled, disgusted, and saddened at this clear lack of compassion, professionalism, and customer service. And we wonder why moms are fearful to take their children out in public these days. We will unfortunately not return to Momma Rabbits, ever.

Great cookies and cakes and quiches...well you get the point. Alicia the chef/owner is a magician in the kitchen. Oh how I miss this place but rest assured I'll keep driving there to partake. As many great restaurants as there are in Greenville I haven't found a match for Yummies in this food category.

Thank goodness for Yelp. We've been here before but this time was our last. The food is always fine but nothing to write home about. The thing about restaurants is from time to time even a great place will have an off night, that's inevitable. The key to retaining customers is all about how you handle it when it happens. And well let's just say they did not handle it well. The place was crowded and short staffed so it took a while to take our order. I had a question about a menu item which the server could not answer. She said she'd find out but then didn't so I simply ordered something else. My husband got the ham sub. I settled for the pasta, feta and green salad. I ordered it with no dressing but unfortunately there was a dressing on the pasta salad that just ruined it for me. I didn't eat it. The waitress never came back. We had empty drink cups and my husband was done eating. Quite some time passed and we finally were able to get the check. We told both the waitress and manager that the salad was terrible and that I didn't eat. They were unconcerned and were not going to take it off the check.
