We are an established customer; would not ask for special consideration for maint, fill up, etc. Andersen replaced our 50 yr old oil tank 8 years ago...exceptional job. I pay attention to my tank volume so no emergency fills. Deliveries have been made promptly when I request a fill; and timely refills when I use the pre-buy. I forgot to make a followup call to check on this, and when I did, Spicer had no record of the order. However, Kris in the office got right on it, and despite the very busy demand for gas, I got my fill-up just before the big cold snap Saturday. I've found Spicer to be very responsive to our orders and have been great servicing our ventless gas fireplace and space heater as well as our tanks for heating and cooking.

The whole 11 years she has lived there she heated the home with a wall mounted propane heater and an electric heater in the bathroom. 11 years they service d the home with no issues. Yesterday they sent a service tech to her house to reconnect the gas line to the wall mounted heater. The tech saw that she had no source of heat in her bedroom. He told her it is a code violation to not have heat in every room. Im a licensed hvac technician in state, so I do know that this is true in order to get your CO on new builds however this is a very small cabin and the wall mounted heater was always sufficient. The technician that came would not connect the gas line to her wall mounted heater. She is almost 70 and lives alone and now has no heat. She calls and complains explaining that the home has been like this for the whole time they have serviced the property with techs in and out many times through the years. Her calling made things worse. Not only did they reinforce the fact that they will not connect the gas line to the heater, but, service manager Brent put a do not deliver order on her account until she gets a heat source in her room. Here's my issue. Yes it is a code violation, however, the building inspector is not just going to randomly show up and inspect the home. A code violation that is not a direct threat to health and safety should be noted on the explanation in the bill and a recommendation to add the heat in that room and the gas line connected so that she has a heat source until she can afford to add the heat in the room. I don't see how removing her only heat source in a cold month is helping your customer. Leaving a 68 year old woman without heat to try to sell a job is absolutely ridiculous. Calling them is a joke as well, terrible customer service and service manager Brent is soulless salesman.

The front entrance on a busy street seems older and more ornant on the outside, and as you go down the parking lot gets more modern and designed for function. It was hard to find the entrance to the parking lot, which is narrow and on the side of the building. You can enter on the bottom floor, which had a friendly guard who told me where the elevator was. The elevator is older and small, but not claustrophobic or scary. You can also take the stairs up. The library is divided between children and adults, and the employees were very friendly. If you have the Connecticut 169 book, they do know what it is!

Quick update on the boat tour…read more.. After my last experience, I wasn't sure I'd be back. The audio system failed almost immediately, so we missed out on the history and stories that were supposed to make the trip special. I shared my disappointment, and to their credit, the company reached out and made it right. This time around, the experience was exactly what we had hoped for. We were finally able to enjoy the ride, take in the scenery, and hear the history that we missed the first time. Mistakes happen, but it's how a business responds that really matters, and they earned my respect by standing behind their service. The tour was incredibly informative and surprisingly fascinating. There is so much history along the Thames River that I never knew existed. Learning about the Navy, Electric Boat, Fort Trumbull, historic landmarks, and the stories behind everything you pass on the water gave me a whole new appreciation for the area. It was one of those experiences that makes you realize how much history has been right in your own backyard all along. I'm glad we gave it another chance. Thanks for making things right!

A library that will…read more never be built again I have been to a lot of libraries. big ones, small ones, old ones and new ones but i don't believe I have even seen one quite this physically impressive. It looks more like a medieval castle than a library. Being right next door to a 135 foot high obelisk, a cool old fort and great views of the Thames River certainly doesn't hurt. The money for this library was donated by an extremely generous man named Frederic Bill. He made his money in the linen business back in the 1800's and wanted to give back some of it to help his community. He ended up helping to build churches, schools, and of course this library. The library was opened in 1890 and constructed of huge blocks of granite floated down by barge by from the quarries at Stony Creek in Branford, Ct. The library originally held about 1,750 volumes but has grown a lot since then. It had major additions added in 1907 and 1994 and the amazing thing is that the additions blend in so well with the original structure that it all looks like it was built at one time. The inside has all the modern conveniences of most libraries but never lets you forget that you are in a very special place. Something cool to look at in every direction, this is far more than just a place to store books. This is a library that will never be built again. Look inside and you see all types of unique architecture and creative art, if you happen to take a peek out the window you see a monstrous obelisk looming overhead or perhaps an old revolutionary fort. The building, grounds and location are just so damn impressive that the books almost become superfluous. Walk slowly and breath deeply when you go through the doors, this is a very special library.
