Not sure why they have a low star rating. Been using them over two houses owned in 20 years. Never really had a problem with their service. They pick up the phone every time I call. I am on the auto delivery for oil and they keep my tank full. 10 month payment plan with an annual maintenance done. 4 stars because I would recommend they call you annually to set uo the maintenance. Most other home maintenance companies I deal with make it a point to callbor send a reminder post card. Would be great if Andersen Oil did that. And if they computerized their paement system so you can pay online. They still rely on the snail mail for bills. read more

We purchased our home in June 2021. The sellers had used Anderson for their oil needs as well as for maintenance on the oil furnace. This year, we began having an issue with water leaking from the back of the furnace. Since all of the maintenance records on the side of the furnace indicated Anderson as the servicing company, I called them figuring they'd be familiar with the unit and better equipped to service it. Upon calling, the woman I spoke to looked up the address and stated that they hadn't delivered oil there in over a year. I explained why and that we have been using another oil provider. The woman then rudely snapped "Well, we're not taking new customers. Go call them" and disconnected. Given this reaction alone, I will not ever contact them again for anything. Besides not having the most competitive oil prices, their customer service is rude and unpleasant. read more

Nate Anderson came to do a repair on a leaking and very old boiler in our antique house. New to the area, we hadn't had to deal with oil heat and heating systems like this. He spent an hour stepping us through our options and making recommendations. We went ahead with a new 100% Made in America system. The service and repair guys have always been professional and arrive when they say they will be. Dennis, the company sales manager is great, very attentive. The billing and invoicing could use some work as well as operations at the main office but I won't let that offset giving these guys the five-star rating they deserve. Hopefully they can make some improvements on the billing side and round out their customer service. I trust these guys. read more

Andersen oil drivers are very full of themselves. First he blocks the road so no one can get by, even though there is plenty of room to pull over and NOT block the road. Then when he finally moves yells out for me to "get out of that truck right now and I'll show you" so you threaten people after you block them. On the coldest night this winter, -7° Andersen Oil left us cold! We are good customers of Andersen Oil; we purchased a new heating system in 2022. We signed up for the budget/payment plan, $400 per month, which is automatically deducted from our account, and we've had work done around our place. Their maintenance, delivery, and installers are top-notch, always friendly, and knowledgeable. So why the bad review? Customer Service. Despite telling management about this issue numerous times, their crappy customer service and office management, or lack thereof, strikes again. On the coldest night this year, I arrived late to learn that my heat was out and the tank was bone dry. The delivery driver informed me that we had an outstanding bill of $1200 for misc services for what I don't know and that we must pay to get oil. Why couldn't Andersen simply call me? They have my credit card as they charge me every month. No bill, no call, and no reconciliation of my account, so I know what I have been paying for and what is outstanding. A simple courtesy before they cancel delivery but continue to charge my account for oil would have been nice. Andersen Oil, if you are reading this, upgrade to online billing, hire some friendly customer service staff, and provide customers with the ability to see their charges and payments easily. And for God's sake, have the courtesy to call and request payment before shutting some off and leaving them in the arctic cold. read more

About 10 years ago we changed our oil delivery and service to Andersen Oil and could not be happier that we did. The maintenance contract has been the best investment to make sure we are covered at all times. For instance this morning I noticed our heat appeared to be off and went to look at the boiler. Sure enough the boiler was off and alarm light on. I restarted the unit and then called Andersen before they opened and got their pleasant and capable answering service. Once the Andersen Oil office opened they gave me a call and scheduled a same day repair and cleaning visit . Approximately 5 hours after placing the service call my oil furnace unit has been repaired and cleaned. The service technician was courteous and efficient at getting us back up and running. This has been our experience with Andersen Oil over the years. I do think it is important for one to have a service and oil delivery contract to make sure they get the best possible response. This is a first class outfit from the service technicians, office staff, to the owner. Thank you Andersen ! One thing I should add is that home heating oil companies are impossibly busy at this time of year(January) so it can be hard to get a timely response if you're not a repeat customer. read more

They don't have the sweetest phone girl ever, but what do you want her to do besides getting your address and taking down the order? Stop reviewing on how people speak to you but the service itself. House flippers, property managers, home owners, save yourself some time, money and a whole lot of headaches by using a full service oil company. Previous plumber did an awful job on my boiler, $1700 labor after it was still not running properly. Good thing I ordered oil from Andersen, (you have to be their oil customer to use their service. All full service oil companies are like that. ) So their guys came out, Steve and Steve, took them about 2 and half hours to correct the previous plumbers mess, got everything working. Honest and up front, I knew I was paying $80 an hour for the work, not surprised by the bill at all. Parts are very very reasonably priced. Comparable maybe even cheaper than retail stores. Im going to include "using anderson oil as the delivery company" in the future rental lease, no time to deal with others like my previous plumber who aren't even licensed touch my boiler! We've been with Andersen oil for 6+ years. Had a new furnace installed last year with them. I called for service over the weekend on our other house. Steve the on-call tech was fabulous!! Today he was supposed to come service our other house that my son just moved into this month. This morning I get a call from a girl that works there who was VERY RUDE! Said they couldn't service that house because they don't deliver there. So my son called to set up oil delivery thru them. They were VERY RUDE to him & did not set up service like they told me they would do & they said they didn't know when they could get over there, a day, a week or maybe a month. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE being they have no hot water!!! So we found another company that came over today & fixed the easy problem. Neither house will be getting any service or delivery from them again. I really wish I hadn't signed my contract for this season!!! It will definitely be my last!!! read more

wow. extremely rude! we requested a delivery of 150 gallons. when the delivery man came to the door he said that we would deal with the money later. i had an idea of what it would cost but not an exact dollar amount. when he gave me the total, which i had to make change for because they dont. he said "you clearly have no idea how busy an oil man is!" (and not at all in a nice way). well maybe if you had given me a delivery window instead of saying "sometime tomorrow" i wouldnt have been in the middle of nursing my newborn and trying to fix my 4 year old's toy and maybe if you had given me an exact total when you first came to our property i would have had it ready for you when you were ready to leave. we will never be using andersen oil again, and i will make sure everyone i know in the area does not as well. i wish i could leave zero stars. read more

We have been going through Anderson Oil now for the past year. Definitely utilize their service plan. Consider higher than the bottom tier. Our boiler went out (of course after hours) and the technician was out in less than an hour. You pay parts, not labor (if you have above the bottom tier). At a minimum, you need them to do the annual maintenance on your boiler to keep from having to replace it prematurely(if you use the bottom tier, there are no labor costs during normal hours). Every technician has been courteous and thorough, every delivery man has been courteous and prompt. read more

When my boiler needed replacing I got several quotes and was very impressed with the man who came to my house and reviewed everything with me. The installation crew was wonderful. I have auto oil delivery and have had no problems with that and the staff in the office has always been helpful and pleasant. I am very happy that I switched to them. read more

AVOID. They're crooks. I had problems with them overcharging when I lived in Mystic a few years ago. NOW, they're taking advantage of my 80-year-old mother in a mobile home park and have so far billed her $400. She called to have the air conditioning unit cleaned to start the season. I was there when she phoned. They came, installed new equipment and broke the air conditioner. She phoned again and they came back, didn't fix it but said they did, and sent another bill. She had to stay at a motel during the heatwave. I was in CT last month, phoned them - furious. Told them they needed to correct their mistake. They LIED - said my mother had called the first time and said the ac was broken. I was right there when she had called for a simple cleaning. Anyway, they came back - I made it clear - said to them - there's no charge for this - correct? They agreed. Said that the problem was that a metal piece had become dislodged when they worked on it before, they simply pushed a metal piece and left. Guess what? Today my mother got another bill. She's already charged over $300 to these inept criminals. So - I warn you - avoid these people. They're clueless and have no scruples. read more
