Not only did they accommodate this very anxious terrified new patient but after hearing my story told me to come right in. Can you imagine how blown away I was. I really didn't have time to freak out cause I ran out the door since it was close to closing time but Mary the front receptionist said she couldn't have me wait. Upon arriving, I immediately felt a sense of calmness. After doing paperwork I was taken to the back room where I was met with a dental assistant. Quickly we started talking and before you I knew it, my heart stopped racing. Dr. Conrad came in and introduced himself and I was totally confident I found the right dentist for me. Talk about bedside manner, he quickly won over this scaredy-cat ! He walked me through each step, explaining exactly what he was doing and made sure I was comfortable. My cleaning was great. As comfortable as one can be. Felt fantastic after. Did a great job. X-rays went well. A week later I had a filling. The dentist is fantastic. Numbed me perfectly. Just in the area he would be working on. No crazy stroke smile after haha. The filling was very fast. Explained very well. Unlike other fillings at other offices no pain at all after. Like not even sore. And my cavity was deep! Very impressed. Literally ate on that side that night because I forgot I had work done. Almost as soon as I left the numbing started to wear off. In past experiences with another office I walked around looking like a stroke victim all day. Not at this office with this dentist. You wouldn't know I had work done. I was told we have no record anything that you are talking about so moving forward when you call here listen to what is being told to you and give us the respect that we are due. I tried to explain to her that I was sitting there when the other dentist called them the office manager continued to over talk me and would not listen to anything I had to say. As an avid listener of WAMC, and hearing that Capital Smiles is an underwriter, I decided to give them a try....and I am glad I did! Everyone I came into contact with was so genuinely kind...it immediately made me less anxious. My Hygienist, Nicole, was super nice and very easy to talk to! She gave great explanations on a few minor issues I'd been having. The cleaning I received from her was extremely thorough-and gentle!!! Dr. Page came in for the exam and checked the x-rays, and didn't scare or pressure me into any unnecessary work. My teeth are in rough shape right now, and after a horrible past dentist who basically wanted to pull everything out (trauma city), I was expecting the worst. Instead, I met Dr. Schwartz, and within minutes he had me feeling safe, cared for, and even laughing. Yes... actually laughing in a dentist's chair. Wild. He listened to me, he understood my fears, and at one point after hearing what I went through, he just looked at me with this gentle "you poor thing" energy -- but in the sweetest, most compassionate way. Not judgmental, not pitying... just genuinely kind. He has a great sense of humor, an incredibly gentle approach, and he made me feel human, not embarrassed. I left feeling relieved, grateful, and honestly shocked that I found a dentist I'm excited to go back to. I've never had to wait long for an appointment, either. Everything seems to run on time and everyone is friendly. My hygienist is gentle and friendly. They keep you with the same hygienist each time and they immediately schedule the appointment with you themselves after the cleaning. Dr. Schwartz has been my doctor. He is gregarious and seems thorough. I was pregnant and couldn't get x-rays during a couple of cleanings, but felt he inspected my teeth carefully. While it's in an unassuming building, this has been a great practice so far. I only withhold one star because I have never experienced anything beyond basic care there.
