The booking part was quick. Cleaning people seemed easy to talk to. Hence two stars. Regarding the job, it was done extremely terribly. Two people showed up almost half hour late, bringing only a vacuum and a mop. They asked a place for them focus on(so they could ignore everywhere else), I chose the kitchen. An hour and half later, they haven't even able to clean the kitchen tiles. According to them, they spent more than half hour on the bathroom in the first floor, which I barely used. What can I say? How is it MY problem that this company hired incompetent staff? Isn't that why I hired a maid company in the first place...to get screened and vetted service? I asked for a refund and was refused one unless I have the same (bad) maid come do a re-clean. I asked for a new cleaner -- was refused. I asked for a partial refund without a re-clean -- I was refused. It's true that their website states that if you're unhappy with a cleaning, the company will re-clean and if you are still unhappy you will get a refund. It does NOT state that you have to use the same maid. WHY would I want the same woman who I complained about come into my home? And why would I want the same crappy cleaning? She said the reason they can't give me a new maid is because they already paid the previous maid and they don't want to have to pay a second one..?! read more

Cleaning was fine but scheduling was a nightmare. Asked for a Friday and was given a Wednesday. Asked what happened to Friday and was told it was booked. Told them I couldn't do Wednesday and Friday became miraculously available (within 5 minutes). After first visit, immediately scheduled my next appointment for a month later. Never heard anything and when I followed up (three weeks later) was told my date wasn't available and they randomly picked another date the following week (didn't even ask if I was free - and the new date was a holiday). If I had time to deal with all of this, I would have time to clean my own house. Moving on to another company with a customer service focus. read more

In 2021, I booked a move-out cleaning for an apartment over a month before the move-out date. When I saw reviews by several customers saying their appointments had been canceled at the last minute, I asked Groovy Maid to confirm in writing that this would not happen to me because I would not have time to book another cleaning company. Groovy Maid never replied, so I made a backup appointment with a company called Clean Day Housekeeping. Sure enough, Groovy Maid emailed me five days before the confirmed appointment, said they couldn't make it, and wanted to reschedule on a later date... after I'd already moved out. Clean Day Housekeeping ended up doing the job, VERY well. Lots of other customers have shared similar experiences, so unfortunately this is a pattern. I'll be using Clean Day Housekeeping in the future. read more

Excellent job on cleaning my rental property in Pitt! They were on time, professional, and left the place sparkling for my tenants to move in. There was a lot of build up when the previous folks trashed the place, so I needed to find cleaners fast for this rental turnaround. Booking was seamless and the price fit right into my budget. Glad I finally found my go-to maid service in Pitt! read more

The only thing good about the service was easy and quick booking. My first and only cleaning the maid was early after I booked a specific time (because I was coming home from work). I was not home when she arrived. The maid did not wear her COVID mask over her nose properly. She left sick after cleaning 1 bathroom stating she had felt sick earlier in the day but thought she could push through. Jess, the boss, rescheduled without asking me what was convenient for me. The reschedule was not the best option for me but I booked it because I needed the cleaning completed. The rescheduled new maid also did not always wear her mask properly. While both maids were nice, they were not the best trained. For a general cleaning, furniture was not moved to be cleaned, knickknacks were not moved to be dusted, and pet hair remained on the steps. When discussing things I wanted cleaned, I was told those were only included in deep cleanings not general cleanings. The second maid even went on to tell me the things she skips when doing deep cleanings even though she knows she's supposed to do them because, "There's not enough time." So they skip things you pay for. Jess also charged me for the 3 bedrooms they did not clean so I had to question the charge and wait for the refund. Overall, the cleaning was not any better than I could have done, so I was left unsatisfied, inconvenienced, and disappointed. read more

$150 for 45 minutes with 4 people. Slow response time after email or phone call. Will not use again.

My husband and I are selling our home, so we hired Groovy Maid to prepare the house for showing. Being a brand new mother and living several hours away, we didn't have the time to do it ourselves. According to our realtor, they did an excellent job! She was especially impressed with the hardwood floors. What I appreciated the most was the ease of scheduling and payment. All other companies wanted a long phone interview or to meet in person, neither of which would work for my schedule with a new baby. The price was also great, so we will definitely consider using them again if needed. read more

I love that I can book online and get a price upfront - without having to play phone tag or have a pre-cleaning visit. We used Groovy Maid to do a deep clean of our mom's house for her birthday. Both my mom and my sister (who lives at home) raved about the clean. My mom was thrilled with her gift and my sister said the refrigerator was "really shiny." I did have an issue with the website not taking my booking right away and didn't hear back from a voicemail I left - but I got it to go through, so maybe they just decided not to call back? read more

Terrible company. Booked them for a deep clean move out, which is the more advanced clean they do. They showed up at the house, which was not beyond their scope in any way. 3 people came half an hour later than their range and said they were going to talk to their management, then I get an email that they canceled my appointment on the spot. As a deep cleaning company, they are terrible at what they do and their people are apparently unqualified to clean a house. Do not book this company if your house has crumbs on the floor, it will be out of their range. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM read more

I bought this service for my wife as a gift after our baby was born. I thought it would be nice for her not to have to worry about cleaning the house and its something she talked about for a while. WHAT A WASTE. We paid extra for services that were not done and the girl was only there for an hour. She basically only vacuumed and wiped down counter tops. She "cleaned" the floor in her bare feet and now there are footprints all over the house. If i could give LESS THAN ONE STAR, I would. The house feels dirtier now than before she came. When we complained, we were told that their policy is to have the same person come back and clean the house again. No thanks. No refund was given. Keep your money and buy your own cleaning products to do it yourself. I'm certain you will be happier. read more

They did a move out cleaning and it was excellent! Communication was great as they answered all our questions quickly and letting us know when they were coming. They also have email reminders to remind you when the cleaning is coming up. The clean was great. The maids were professional. They know what they are doing. You can trust them to clean while you go run your errands. Highly recommend! read more

My roommate and I recently hired them to do a move out clean. We had booked them online and put in all the add on charges. One of the add on charges was for pets. After letting in the cleaning crew I gave them a tour of the house and showed them all the spaces that needed cleaned. I asked if they would be ok while I went to get some food really quick. They said yes so I left to let them clean in peace. As I sat down to get my food I got a call saying they refused to clean because there was pet hair. We specifically payed for the add on to cover if we had pets. On top of them refusing to clean they had rescheduled on us twice! This whole experience was inexcusable and infuriating. I could never recommend this company to anyone. They deserve 0 stars. read more

Cleaner rescheduled at the last minute and didn't move anything to clean. Owner was indifferent when i emailed to ask if this was normal business practice. Way too expensive for the job that was done. read more

They charged $920 even though the owner, Jessica, quoted $850 for an 8 hour day and they came late. I explained to Jessica, the owner, what needed done in the house. I asked how experienced the workers were, whether they were trained and once showed around the house if they would know what to do. She assured me they were professional, had substantial training and used only green products to clean. One person arrived on time, the other two were late. One of them brought her pregnant daugther who was 9 mos. pregnant and having contractions. I told her she should come in rather than be in a hot car all day. She said she would come in to use the bathroom but preferred to wait in the car. They said they had not been told what was needed and had no idea what to do. I went over everything with them. They were supposed to be using green products, but instead used Lysol so I gave them cleaning products to use. One worker did a good job, the other two talked constantly, complaining to each other and did a poor job. When I asked them to go over the cabinets again they said they could not be cleaned. I showed them the dirt easily came up with a damp paper towel. I called the owner when I left. She was disappointed that the woman she said she put in charge brought her daughter who was in labor with her and surprised they brought products that were not green and that they did a poor job. I most definitely would not recommend them. Let the buyer beware! We just wish we had known about the many bad reviews before we wasted nearly $1,000! Save your money and your time, find another company. BTW, the took our cleaning products when they left. read more

I've been using Groovy Maid for over a year now to clean my mother-in-law's apartment twice a month and have been very happy with their services. We've had a few different teams over the year and all were excellent with the exception of one who repeatedly cancelled at the last minute (the company promptly responded to the problem and it's been smooth sailing since). I don't live in the area so their booking system and responsiveness to any questions have been a huge help to me. My mother-in-law has high standards when it comes to what she considers "clean", and Groovy Maid and their professional team members thankfully meet those expectations. read more

I feel like I was scammed and would not want to do business with them again. I said I needed a small kitchen and tiny bathroom of a 1300sf empty home thoroughly cleaned. They said sure, no problem, but the minimum we'd have to pay for was three hours. I hesitated, thinking it would not take 3 hours to clean these small rooms but went with them because they were available the following week. The cleaning woman was nice and was cleaning the kitchen, & told my husband he didn't have to stay. She would clean the bathroom when she finished the kitchen. My husband left. After a total of three hours, the company called me and said the cleaning lady only cleaned the kitchen and would I like to schedule to have the bathroom cleaned? I was SHOCkED! How did she not get both small rooms cleaned in 3 hrs? (Yes, I was also mad my husband left early so I didn't know what really happened) I've had my entire greater-than 2000sf home cleaned in that amount of time before! The company never once suggested it couldn't be done in three hours and now they want me to pay another $180 for a tiny bathroom (the sink counter is barely bigger than the sink bowl, if that gives you an idea)? (Assuming they don't play this trick again!) I did talk to them about it but they insisted this was normal, snd a larger house would take ten hours to clean, scaled up in her mind/experience. I don't know if this is true-again, not my experience years ago with my own house in a different state. I feel taken. This isn't even talking about how they changed the time at the last minute and then canceled completely, so we had to re-schedule a third time. read more

Groovy maids were awful. I'm not really sure what it is they did to clean our home. The only thing different was that our blankets were made to cover the couches. The house was vacuumed but they used our vacuum. There was no dusting done. Countertops were not wiped. The hardwood was not cleaned. My sons bedroom wasn't even touched. This was basically $200 down the drain. We placed a review on their website and had no response. Would never recommend. If it was possible I would give zero stars. read more

The cleaning was ok, had to come back once to get the floor boards (which I had paid extra for). Hard to get ahold of. Most of the correspondence were via email, couldn't get ahold of anyone via phone which made clearing up a few simple billing issues difficult. Overall, it was fine but I probably wouldn't use them again. read more

I had a good experience with them, the guy was quite thorough and took his time with my kitchen and two bathrooms. I liked that they charge by the amount of bathrooms and bedrooms versus by hours or square footage. I would highly recommend them. read more

Groovy Maid is a great cleaning service. My home is sparkling clean and smells great.

I am writing an updated review because there was some miscommunication that has been clarified since. Of note, there is an extra $15 charge for having a bathroom to be cleaned, which I don't know if this is standard practice, but which does explain why I was charged more. Jessica graciously offered me a reclean with a different cleaner and this time all rooms were cleaned appropriately, all floors swept/mopped/vacuumed, and our cleaner was timely and thorough. I'm not sure if the previous clean was just particular to a specific cleaner. Again, this is a small business and I appreciate when owners take the time to listen to their customers and offer recleans if the work is not up to customer satisfaction. read more

We are very busy people who own a small business and our house is always the last thing to get dealt with - usually, when we are getting ready for a party. In advance of our cast party, I booked Groovy Maid to come and clean our house. I based my decision on the online pricing, booking, and the Yelp, Facebook, and Google reviews. Stephanie did our home today. She was punctual, friendly and thorough. I am absolutely sold on this service. read more

Exceeded my expectations! I have never used a maid service before. But I tore my ACL and am on crutches for weeks. Groovy maid to the rescue! Very professional team arrived. Plan to treat myself to this service again. Thank you Groovy maid!! read more

My place was very dirty and brian and his team did a great job. I am very happy with the job that they did

High hopes but not worth it. I loved the online scheduling and flexibility, and the cleaners seemed very personable, but the positives end there. Nothing was moved to dust surfaces, looked like a feather duster around items, where the surfaces were even touched (many were not). Soap scum on tub and shower were barely addressed, then when I brought it up, told it was stained. These stains rubbed off on my thumb. To their credit, they did try to fix issues I discovered while they were here, but if a job requires a rag and you're using a brush, please adapt. If nothing else, this visit gave me the push I needed to clean thoroughly and get the job my heart was set on. read more

We got a moveout cleaning and while I would suggest that they have two maids working on a movein or moveout cleaning, Natasha did a great job. The apartment was spotless and amazingly clean. I can't really speak on punctuality since I wasn't there to let her in. It did take her a really long time but that's because it was a big job especially for one person. I was really impressed with her work and her service. She even called to tell me that it was taking longer than she expected and was apologetic. read more

I found this service through Thumbtack, they immediately responded to my questions and were very professional. Once a date was set for the cleaning, I received confirmation emails and a couple of reminder emails in case I needed to change anything. Lots of email reminders, and when there was an issue with my payment they immediately contacted me so that my service wouldn't be canceled. The house was cleaned and the appliances were spotless. I was really impressed with the job that was done. Overall it was a great job. I would definitely recommend. read more

I must have had a bad set of employees because they only cleaned the floor area in the center of my rooms, no dusting of shelves, and the worst thing was the fact that the gentleman broke 2 pieces of ceramic in my kitchen and threw them in my trashcan without telling me. They were from my Grandma. I didn't discover this until I walked around after they left. I fished the pieces out of the trash and glued them back together. Also, the lady was on the phone quite a bit complaining both about how their boss schedules them and the next (recurring, I assume) client appointment. read more

used them for a rental property when I was in a pinch. They were very quick, easy to book with as well. My rental was left behind looking like a mess after a tenant left with no notice.
