I would give zero stars if I could. I contacted Jose over the phone on Thursday to schedule a deep clean, and he was very flexible and accommadating. The pricing was fair, and the cleaning was scheduled for Friday at noon. Jose called me on Thursday evening, asking if the cleaners could come at 9am on Friday instead. I agreed to the last minute change. The cleaners never came. I texed and called Jose a few times throughout Friday, asking if and when the cleaners would come, and received no response. Around 1pm, I texted him saying that if I did not receive a response by 5pm, I would book another service. He responded 15 minutes later, saying that the cleaners could come Saturday morning instead. I am writing this review at 10:40am on Saturday, after texting and calling Jose at 8:30am and 9:54am. I have received no response, and there have been no cleaners sent to my address. Overall, this experience has wasted a lot of time and effort on my part. I have since booked with another cleaning service that is professional, diligent, and communicative, offers a competitive price, and fulfills services that Shadyside House Cleaning charges extra for. read more

This company was hired by my tenant to do a move-out whole house cleaning. When I did the walk through inspection I thought no way this house was cleaned by professionals. It looked like they mopped over unswept floors. Toilets were not clean. Showers were not clean etc... I would not recommend this company. worst I've ever seen! read more

I hired Shadyside cleaning company they started out great but after a few cleanings I noticed that some of the cleaning they had done in the beginning they were no longer doing I left an eye lashes deliberately on the floor behind my waste basket in the bathroom when they left it was still there I have beautiful granite counter tops in our kitchen they were special ordered all you need is water to wipe them down we usually eat out so nothing in our kitchen gets greasy one of his workers used bleach on the counter top when I saw her doing that I lost it we have a brand new gas range if anything it gets dusty one of his worker used an abrasive pad on my range and is all scratched up when I showed the owner he told we I will tell my worker to be more careful I took my shower after use I always wipe down my shower when it came for me to wipe down my shower doors they also were all scratched up again when I approached the owner about his insurance he told me that he wasn't putting it through his insurance it's not that bad PLEASE never use this company they are the worst trust me read more

I told them the size of my house, they told me how much, we agreed on the amount to clean, when they got to the house, after cleaning for 10 minutes, they decided to changed the agreed amount and wanted to extort money from me by all means, when I declined to pay the added charge, they told me they will leave everything as is and leave. I hired Shadyside House Cleaning to clean my apartment before moving out, and confirmed our 2:00 appointment the day before. The day of, I didn't hear from them, and called around 2:15. Jose said he'd be there soon, and after a few more calls he showed up around 3:45. He estimated it would take 2-3 hours to clean my (completely empty) one bedroom apartment, but it ended up taking over 4 (which is fine, but again he didn't keep me updated, so I kept having to text to see what was going on). He agreed to do a job for a certain price which was generous however don't agree to do something if you aren't going to do it right.. for example.. he agreed to do the whole inside of my home from top to bottom including inside and outside appliances and cabinets.. then when he gets there says oh i don't do the tile ceiling inside the shower and oh there's too many windows in this room.. not to mention the fact that the kitchen was done horribly.. I would never use this company again and i wouldn't recommend you using them either. Thanks for nothing.. now I have to spend more money to have it done right.. They did an outstanding job for me from top to bottom the place was move in ready after they got done. I would highly recommend Shadyside House Cleaning to anyone in the Pittsburgh area that needs their house cleaned, touched up, or even need to move out and have a picky landlord. I have a 2 bedroom one bathroom apartment that needed to be cleaned before I could find another renter. I had a tenant that was there for 7 years and there was some accumulated dirt and everything was cleaned to a high standard when they were done. Had been using their services for a couple months with minor issues until recently. I noticed from the beginning that the quality of work was inconsistent, varying greatly from visit to visit. In addition, each time they came they would rearrange things and leave them in bizarre places. I believe I was also being overcharged throughout, given the size of my apartment. Ultimately, the reason that I stopped using their services was dishonesty, disrespect, and carelessness. I came back to my apartment one day at 2:45 when Jose had agreed to have the apartment cleaned at 10:30, and the team had only gotten there 5 minutes prior. When I asked if they had discussed with Jose (who was not there) what time they were supposed to arrive, they said they didn't know, and that he had just dropped them off. I texted Jose and was told that 'he was so sorry, he didn't know the team had gotten there late, or that they were an hour (?? Closer to 4) behind, and that this had never happened before '. All these things were clearly untrue; I was aware that he had actually done this in the past but hadn't said anything because I wasn't home at the time, although my friend staying with me had let me know. He then offered to clean the apartment for half price the next time, and said we were 'even' because of a day that my dog had been sick and vomited on the rug. I accepted the half price visit. The next time they came, it was clear that very little was done and they had basically grabbed the check and left. They were also extremely disrespectful with my belongings, among other things piling up all my shoes on top of each other in the corner of my closet. When I confronted him about these issues and sent him pictures and told him I wanted a refund, I was told that the apartment 'looked clean ' to him and that I wouldn't be refunded because it was only 'x' amount.
