I will never use Groomit again and strongly recommend that no one else does either. I booked their full-service grooming plus a $20 health service add-on expecting professionalism. The appointment took far too long (2 hrs for a 13 pound dog), and when my dog was returned, his haircut was insanely uneven and patchy. He also had a visible gash on his leg that the groomer never mentioned. Additionally, the hair on his ears still appeared oily and textured, which indicates he wasn't washed fully or blow dried, both which are included in the service. If my dog's behavior was truly such a barrier that it compromised the service, that should have been communicated before, during, or after the appointment. It never was. The groomer said nothing, and Groomit only raised that excuse after I filed a complaint. My dog is seven years old and has been professionally groomed every eight weeks for years. He's friendly, well-behaved, and goes to work with me daily in an office environment where he interacts with people all day. I've never once received feedback about behavior issues or seen a haircut this bad. I've included photos of his usual grooms for comparison. This was not about "nervousness." It was poor workmanship and negligence. After my experience, I reviewed Groomit's lowest ratings from the past year, and the pattern is clear: long delays, uneven cuts, and dogs being injured/traumatized. There may be many positive reviews, but the negative ones tell a consistent story. I urge anyone considering this company to read those very carefully before booking. This was a $200 appointment that left my dog injured and poorly groomed. The lack of transparency and accountability from both the groomer and the company is unacceptable. Screenshots of Groomit's response and my messages with the groomer are attached for reference.

I usually bring my Maltese, Benjamine, to this company's mobile grooming service once a month, and Andre has always done an excellent job. Unfortunately, this last experience was completely different and honestly heartbreaking. Instead of Andre, another groomer handled the appointment. I asked for a simple fluffy cut, just to even out his coat, but when I came back almost two hours later, Benjamine was unevenly chopped like a patchwork cut. Far worse, he came back with little pink spots, nicks on his skin, and was clearly in pain. This is absolutely unacceptable. It's devastating to see my dog go through this. He can't tell me what happened, but I can see the results--and they speak volumes. No pet should come back from a grooming session uncomfortable or injured. The only positive was that they gave him a little treat bag, but that doesn't undo the poor grooming or the fact that my dog was hurt in the process. I've trusted this company with multiple pets and had even planned to bring my poodle here, but after this experience, I won't risk it unless I can be assured that only Andre or another highly skilled groomer handles my dogs. Pet grooming is not just about appearance--it's about care, gentleness, and safety. This was a very disappointing and concerning experience, and I truly hope the company takes action to prevent this from happening to anyone else's beloved pets.

Before - How she comes out with other Groomers

I had a terrible experience with Groomit and their groomer, who went by the name Ocean Wavz. I booked a grooming appointment with clear instructions for only half of my dog's hair to be trimmed. When I brought her out to the grooming van before the appointment started, the groomer casually mentioned that her tail seemed a little matted but said he could work through it. He never mentioned needing to shave her and never got my consent for cutting more than the agreed trim. What makes this worse is that I brushed my dog thoroughly just an hour before his arrival -- and she has been professionally groomed monthly since she was a puppy. There was absolutely no way she was severely matted. Even if he encountered a tangle, it did not justify shaving her all the way down to the skin. The before and after pictures are shocking compared to how she normally looks after grooming. Angry doesn't even begin to describe my feelings toward this company and especially Ocean Wavz. Here is the most infuriating part -- this groomer was literally parked in in front of my home the entire time. If he truly felt something needed to be done beyond the agreed service, he could have easily knocked on my storm door, which was open the ENTIRE time, or simply called or messaged me through the app (even if there were issues with the app -- he could've simply gotten up and come to the door). It truly appears that he made a mistake and had to cut her to adjust for that - but even then her hair is not even (see picture). This was unacceptable, lazy, and irresponsible. I feel violated that this was done without my consent, and it absolutely infuriates me to now see my dog shivering because her hair is gone -- all because of this poor, careless, irresponsible experience. When I complained to Groomit, they initially refused to refund me and only offered a store credit (which I would never use after this). It wasn't until I threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau and dispute the charge with my credit card company that they finally refunded my money. This isn't even my first bad experience with them -- the initially scheduled groomer never even showed up and lied and said she did. I will never use them again and strongly urge other pet owners to stay far away if you value your pet's well-being and expect honesty and professionalism. See my dog's before and after pictures.

this is him after so called wash and cut

the worst groomer ever in 30 years. I paid almost 400 dollars for a bath for my 2 dogs! she didn't even trim their hair like a schnauzer it was so ugly she didn't brush their teeth or cut their nails or sew claw which was a big ask from me she did nothing and I never got a response back. they were 6 hours late for my 1st appointment and I took off the next day to reschedule for absolutely garbage service. asked for partial refund never heard a peep and got nothing! I could've cut their hair better with a pair of toy scissors and a barbie doll hairbrush

Yesterday, May 7th, my 100lb Great Dane had an appointment to be groomed via their mobile van service. I booked the silver package & also added on the health bundle & deshedding. Altogether this includes nine services: a full bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, blow dry, dry brush out, gland expression, teeth brushing, paw balm, and removing undercoat and loose hair. It was $256.61 before tip. According to their website, a grooming appointment averages 1-3 hours, depending on pet's size and selected services. From the time my dog went into the van to the time she was at my front door again was approximately 29 minutes TOTAL (we have cameras with time stamps to verify), for a 100 pound Great Dane to receive 9 different services. The groomer put in the app that he was there from 5:30-6:30, which wasn't true. When she was brought back to our door, she was very wet. Her paws and back looked visibly dirty. She wasn't blown out and didn't receive the dry brush or deshedding. Her teeth weren't brushed and glands weren't done. Her paws were very dirty as well which led us to believe she didn't get the paw balm either. We wiped her with two wipes right after and they were filthy. (Pictured.) The one service that was "done" (a full bath) was done poorly. I reached out to her usual groomer and they agreed- properly grooming & fulfilling all services on a 100lb dog in 29 minutes is unheard of. After reaching out they argued that all services were completed in 29 minutes. They credited $100 to my Groomit account but I'd let them know I would not be using them again. No integrity. I am filing a dispute with my bank and a complaint with the BBB. I do not recommend hiring a company that doesn't hold their contractors accountable. So disappointing.

Carla was so great. ChiChi is a old girl and get be difficult. Carla did such a thorough job our old girl has never looked so good. And the fact she loves dogs as much as I do...is amaizing. We have 5. Can't wait to see you again!

Excellent job. Emerson was really great with bathing/blowing/cutting the hairs of my King Charles Cavalier. Highly recommend.

Groomer pretended to be arriving for 4 hours. He never showed. Money never refunded. Pretty sure this is a scam.

So done. Molly has…read morebeen getting groomed by Laura for eight years. She's an excellent groomer, but she is not great at running her business. Molly has had standing appointments every month, but they're not always followed up, and sometimes, I don't even know when her appointments are. I had expressed my concerns with Laura in the past. Last month, I was supposed to go away on vacation. We had already booked Molly's appointment before my vacation, so I wasn't concerned about it. I asked her for a status update on the day of, and she told me that she had moved her appointment date, and "sorry I didn't update." She didn't even ASK ME if this schedule change was okay to begin with! What the hell? Who is she to just move things around without asking me? When I expressed my frustration at the time, she gave me a very curt/dismissive reply. I called her out on it, then she blamed texting as the reason why it came off that way. Then guess what: work on your texting/communication skills, if that's the way you choose to communicate with your clients. Not to mention that whoever is helping her run the business side of things (Tammy) has been super rude. She even tried to get me to RETROACTIVELY sign a fuel surcharge document for the prior month, when this had never been discussed with me. All of her responses (via text) are super curt, dismissive, and rude. That air of superiority does not work for me. All of the negative reviews about the customer service are accurate. Things were so bad at that time that I texted Laura and said that while I've appreciated everything she had done for Molly, we were going to have to part ways. She and I discussed it, and I was convinced to stay with her. She told me about what she had been struggling with, and I was compassionate to her situation. Things got better for a bit, but not for long. That's the key issue with this place: there is a lack of consistency. Things look "better" for a bit and then drop back into the abyss. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. Her truck needed servicing. I understand that those types of things are not predictable. Of course I would be understanding of this, but each month comes with some sort of issue. It's hard to consider this a "one off" when it happens more frequently than not. I expressed my frustration and she said she's apologized in the past. I told her that this is causing me anxiety each month. Getting my dog groomed, when her schedule is already booked, should not be this stressful. Her reply: "It is unfortunate that you feel that way. The only anxiety I had today was that I could get my truck repaired in time to not let my people down, and that it wasn't a giant bill. It is my hope that you feel better." It was clear from her response that she has no empathy for others, despite being someone who's used her own mental health issues as an excuse for her past transgressions. "The only anxiety that I had today..." part basically makes it seem like she's diminishing my feelings about being dismissed nearly on a MONTHLY BASIS. So apparently, it's only about herself. By her saying "it is unfortunate that you feel that way," it was clear that this is over and that this is completely irreparable. She takes zero ownership and had no insight into the fact that it's not just about today -- everything is additive and I have not seen things go smoothly for a long time. Apologies can only go so far. She also told me: "I agree that it would be nice if things always ran smoothly all the time, but sometimes we just have to roll with it." There's been a lot of back and forth for many years, a lot of schedule changes, a lot of Molly getting dropped from the schedule, lack of communication, etc. I had been loyal through all of it. I've BEEN rolling with it. Yes, of course it would be nice of your clients to be flexible from time to time... but it shouldn't be all the time. The tone of that also feels like she's asking ME to shoulder HER burden. Unfortunately, it is just time to part ways. They seem to charge a missed appointment fee if cancelling less than 48 hours in advance, and whole amount for no call, no show. Apparently, respect or this policy isn't a two way street. If you notice from other reviews, she's lost several loyal clients due to rudeness and lack of reliability. One of the other reviews says that they cancelled him 30 minutes prior to the appointment, using COVID as an excuse - and one of the groomers gave him a snarky reply: "I'm sorry this how you are reacting due to being rescheduled during a National crisis." It's these types of unwarranted, inappropriate, snarky remarks that I've gotten so used to from some of their people. This is clearly the norm of how they speak to people, which it shouldn't be. Perhaps she should spend more time on her business and less on her chickens.

Can't believe I have yet to review this wonderful business…read more Laura has been grooming my shih tzu Cooper every month for the last 6 or 7 years. We have used her when we lived in flatiron, Brooklyn heights and now park slope. She does an incredible job every time and is super knowledgeable about pet health and well being. Cooper has always had skin allergies and she often offers great resources and ideas. I initially switched to Laura from a store front groomer because I hated how crowded and chaotic the place would get. With hair of dog, your pooch gets one on one attention and is well taken care of. Especially great option for anxious dogs. The convenience of the groomer coming to you was an added bonus that I can never turn back from. Also love that Cooper always leaves with a cute new toy!
