Not only did they do an excellent job with my little Pom, but they were able to get all of the matts out from under his thick undercoat (which most groomers before wouldn't bother and would just wind up shaving him). I have had a handful of very Very VERY bad experiences with groomers who, amongst other permanent injuries left my 6# Maltese male with life long spinal damage from dropping him, even when I gave explicit instruction to hold him with both hands because he only likes me to hold him and in a certain way. They thought they knew better than me - the Mamma Bear - GRRR!!!! I found one good groomer that I used for years but moved out of the area and rather than take a chance with any other groomer, I groomed him myself. VERY CAREFULLY! He went to the Rainbow bridge last August at the ripe old age of twelve (which is a miracle because I was told he wouldn't live a year due to a heart murmur which would naturally lead to congestive heart failure). I learned so much from him. To say that I am reticent to use a new groomer is an understatement. I now have two Maltese sisters & a newly adopted kitten. Kristie did such an amazing job with both my puppies. I have 2 Goldendoodles each 13 months old. At first they were anxious about the generator noise from the van so Kristie suggested that she pull the van up to my garage. You could still hear the generator noise but my dogs were distracted because they had access to the familiar smell of our home. I opened the garage door so we could be watch the process. I have a couch in my garage and while one puppy was being groomed I was hanging on the couch with the other one. The girls don't like to be separated so they were calmer when they could see their sister just a few feet away. While Kristie was grooming I was reassuring my dogs and rewarding them with treats. Kristie was great at listening and cut my doodle's hair exactly the way that I wanted her to look. Kristie had great communication with me even during the scheduling process and when the puppies were getting groomed, she kept checking in to make sure that I was happy with their look. Mobile grooming is the way to go! It was such a great experience for all of us. Much calmer then hearing a lot of barking dogs in the kennels. Had the best grooming for my giant Newfoundland dog. He's older and has a bum leg so we decided to try mobile grooming again. We loved our experience. Grooming For the Greater Good treated my big guy with a gentle touch and spent sooooo much time with him to get his undercoat thinned. He looks amazing. He feels so fluffy and soft. And most of all he's happy and she kept him from hurting himself. The prices were more than reasonable. She quoted a good price, and it came in a little more because he was really matted in areas and he really had so much undercoat. But even those charges were VERY reasonable.
