Let me set the scene for you. It's 9pm New Years Eve at Glenelg...well I think enough said really…read morehey? I was famished, all of the good restaurants were closed or it was $100 per head to go in and drink/eat all you can. The golden arches were a calling but I resisted not much of a temptation and was instead drawn to the spicy green and red lights across the road. "Give me all you got and stat!" I cried. Apparently that equated to a chicken and guac burrito with mexicrinkles (yes you did not read that wrong) and a Corona for $16.95. Well what a way to ring in the new year! My freshly heated burrito wrap was packed with spicy chicken and guac and not too much lettuce, my crinkle chips (I refuse to call them mexicrinkles again) were perfectly salty and spicy and the beer topped it off nicely. The atmosphere was clean and the layout was really cute with wooden boxes filled with cacti and industrial lighting in the venue. It has beautiful big windows opening out onto Jetty Rd so you can feel like part of the nightlife without getting abused by any of it. Overall if you need a quick fix meal that is reasonably priced, very fresh and reasonably healthy, this is a great option on Jetty Rd.

Although there is no Nacho Hat at Beach Burrito, they do make awesome tortilla baskets for burritos and salads. They are so cool. You could totally tip out the contents and wear it as a hat! Hmmmm... Anyway, back to review. I had the pleasure of dining at Beach Burrito with some friends last night and it was a great experience. The food and beverage are really well priced for the quality. We ordered some vego nachos and smoked chicken quesadillas. The Nachos where served in a cool red plastic basket with cooking paper. Really take out diner style. It was a very easy meal to share. However, you really need some cutlery to get to all the cheese bits. There is an awesome amount of topping on the corn chips. It is served with beans, freshly cut tomato salsa, sour cream and guacamole. The guacamole served with it was a great portion and really flavoursome. The quesadilla was cheesy and there was a hint of smokiness in the chicken. This was also served with sour cream, fresh tomato salsa, guacamole and a couple of corn chips. This addition was unexpected and a nice surprise. As for the beverage, well of course we ordered the Sangria! That is just natural for a bunch of foodies when you see that on the menu. What I love about Beach Burrito is that they serve all their jug cocktails with cups lined with salt or sugar. The cups were also full of ice and cut up apple and orange. I can tell you, it is so much more enjoyable served that way! After some discussion with my fellow diners, we decided that this Sangria is top notch. So there you have it, order the Sangria! Overall, staff where very polite and helpful. The service was actually very fast considering how busy they were for a Wednesday afternoon. Love it, and will return to sample the many other jug cocktails on offer!

A quiet little Mexican place full of Culture with a warm, relaxing atmosphere…read more I enjoyed the culture throughout the restaurant displayed through painted walls of Santa Muerte among other things and little idols scattered about the dining. Although this did not hold my attention for the duration of the 1 hour & 45 minute wait before our meals were served. This is my first time eating at this place so i am not sure if this is a usual occurrence and am happy to give it the benefit of the doubt (hence the 3 stars) However i did notice that others were also experiencing long wait times and it was not all that busy. The meals tasted authentic and were enjoyable if not a little underwhelming. Definitely not the best i have had and were rather small in portion sizes than i have come to expect from other Mexican Restuarants. All in all a fine little place but the service and meals did not scrub up to other competitors out there and this really let it down for me. Perhaps this place is not trying to be more than what it is. It seems to me that it would shine mostly for the true authentic Mexican lovers out there rather than the rest of us casual enjoyers of the Mexican Cuisine.

Don't ignore this place on a busy road. It's a tranquil setting inside and the staff are super super friendly. Prices are pretty good. Mexican can be very expensive but $17 for a burrito (a very filling main meal) was good value!

The Moseley looks nice, they've done a great job decorating the place, but the food is a letdown…read more The food wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good either. The best way to describe it was "meh". First impressions were great, we were greeted out the front by a lovely lady who took us right to the elevator (as we had a pram). We went upstairs and i was impressed by the fitout, the place looks good! We ate lunch upstairs (in the more casual setting) and got a burger with chips, margherita pizza and potato skins. The burger was okay, the chips were average. The pizza tasted kind of bland (which is surprising considering their large wood pizza oven) and the crust tasted slightly burnt. The biggest letdown by far were the potato skins with cheese and bacon. After cooking the potato skins they must have been left to cool slightly and then sprinkled with cold cheese and bacon, resulting in the cheese not being melted. Apart from flavour issues it meant the cheese and bacon weren't stuck to the potato skins, so every time we picked one up all the toppings fell off and we ended up with a plain piece of potato. Not good, really not good. I ended up having to use a fork to scoop up all the cold cheese and bacon out of the bowl, it was messy and awkward. The upstairs is self-serve. You order and pay at the bar and are given a buzzer, then you have to collect the food at the kitchen. The cutlery and napkins also have to be collected from the kitchen, we couldnt find plates anywhere so it made sharing our meals hard. There was also a mix-up with our meals and the buzzer, but as they are still new we considered that teething problems. I was so disappointed, as I was hoping for something better. The balcony is great and it would be awesome for a lazy drink on a warm summer's day. But the food needs to be drastically improved! On a plus the staff seemed quite friendly. Here's hoping they fix the food issues!

Firstly, this place looks great, and is in the perfect position if you're out and about in glenelg…read moreand looking for a bite or drink. So after making a reservation for 6pm and then calling a couple of hours later to only get the answering machine, I left a message to say we would be 30 mins. later, and wanted to change the reservation to 6.30. Of course when I arrived I see they crossed out the reservation and marked it a No Show. We were seated but a note to management to make sure you check your messages. Onto the evening. The girl serving was friendly and seated us with menus. As with most Adelaide restaurants this is now where it gets frustrating when comparing it to the US restaurants we frequent. We didn't see the girl again for another 10 minutes which is when she asked us if we wanted water for the table. She then disappeared for another 10mins or so until revisiting to ask us for drinks at which time I suggested we order drinks and all food to move things along. I also asked if they would provide bread for the table which she said they would. It took another 5-10mins to get the drinks and then another few minutes to get the bread, of which there were 8 small slices, for the 9 people on the table. I then got her to come back and requested more bread which of course took another 5-10mins. Guessing by now you get the picture and problems with service. A note to the management who I'm sure are probably going to dismiss and ignore this, but after working and frequenting many hotels and restaurants throughout the world, I would suggest have your bread ready, have your water ready. When you seat people, ask them immediately which water they would like, and immediately have another staff member put some bread on the table. It not only gives the customer something to nibble and drink while waiting, but will give you some time to go and serve the other tables or for the staff to go and chat in the corner amongst themselves which seems to be a favorite past time of the overpaid hospitality staff in Adelaide. Now to the food. We sat downstairs as they were booked out upstairs. They have an upstairs more casual menu and a downstairs, fancier menu. They would not allow you to look at and order items off of the upstairs menu downstairs, they say because the 2 kitchens are separate. This makes a little sense, but, firstly if you have a group of people in your restaurant and you have a couple of people preferring to order something off of the other menu, let them. Get the staff to go upstairs, request the meal and bring it down. You are in the service industry. Serve your customer. You are much better having a happy customer who feels you have gone beyond to make sure they've had a great night. Word of mouth is key to your business survival. Food wise, the squid entree was tasty, the ceviche was ok but fish is overpowered by the fruitiness of the sauces and while the plate is colorful, the fish looks more like it's been ravaged and torn apart by the local sharks before placed on the plate. Others said the soufflé was just ok. For mains I had the 14 hr lamb, which again wasn't bad, a little flavorless. I would suggest they bake in more of a sauce or pressure cook it with vegetables etc to infuse some flavor, as once you cut into the chunk of lamb it gets quite plain and stringy. Other family members had the skirt steak which looked ok but was very inconsistently cooked with pieces ranging from medium-well to rare. They were all described as being medium. Also when preparing skirt steak, the meat should be tenderized with a rub, ala the Mexican carne asada, and well rested after cooking, and generally served sliced across the grain, so it does not come out chewy. Another member had the seafood sausage roll which was quite good, but again a little bland. I would like to see an interesting spicy sauce on the side to go with it. We ordered all of the sides available, as you don't get much on the side of your dishes, and they were probably the tastiest things of the night while being quite small for the $8.50 each. White sangria was great although overpriced and the wine and beer list is good. Again nice setting, average food and service overall. We had a much nicer, tastier, and cheaper dining experience across the square at the Italian Restaurant without the $50 per head price tag.

We understand mistakes happen but when I brought the plate back up to the bar a few employees pretended I wasn't there until the poor gal who sold it to me returned. She was very nice and apologetic but her response was "would you like another one or just a refund". In my opinion she should have compensated the whole meal considering I have been in hospital for salmonella years ago. I went back up and expressed my thoughts on her response and she said she would talk to her manager but it was never addressed until my wife was nearly done her meal and the same gal offered her a drink as if a soda or something should compensate. My wife respectfully declined and I let the gal know in advance there would be a review with aforementioned. The sad part about it all was that the manager pretended to arrange tables nearby so he could watch but didn't have the moral courage to approach our table to address the issue!!The toilets were also too dirty considering the COVID times.
