New Edge Sharpening - Here is a shot of me that was captured in an article in the COAST.

A few years ago I received a decent set of knives as a Christmas gift and inevitably with time and…read moreuse, they lost their fearsome edge. When I say fearsome, I'm not kidding as my chef's knife is a good 10" and too broad to fit in most knife blocks; total horror movie sized. I came across New Edge after some interwebs searches and saw on the website that I could drop off my knives at the Ikebana shop on Quinpool, which was fairly convenient for me. After just a few days my knives were back and I once again had to handle them with care, lest I lose a finger or pint of blood. Also, Peter included a wonderful little hand written note describing the process that he went through to sharpen all of my knives which was interesting and a nice personal touch.

Last week I read a very interesting article about Peter Nowlan in the newspaper. Later I checked…read morehis website which has a lot of information on it. He sounded very competent. Very impressed, I dropped my chef's knife off at Paderno Factory Store in Bayers Lake one evening. The next evening the store called me back; my knife was ready to be picked up! It had travelled from Bayers Lake to Middle Sackville and back in one day. The knife came back sharpened, nice wrapped in pretty paper, and with a letter attached explaining how he sharpened it. It cost $10 to sharpen my knife. There is also a really detailed price list on his website, for different sizes of knives. I highly recommend Peter Nowlan at the halifaxknifesharpening.com website for excellent service and would use him again. It's an easy drop off at the Paderno store in Bayers Lake. Same plaza as McDonalds.
