Let me start by saying I like the place and go often when I'm in Vero. I also don't write reviews unless I am tweaked. Here's my issue...I know most of the bartenders, sometimes I walk in and James has my beer ready to go without me even asking. Really like that. Shows a lot !!! So compliments to you James. However, I stopped in last Sunday eve, I was greeted with a friendly pretty smile and ordered a glass of Cabernet at the bar, the $15.00 pour was less than more, which I just don't understand, especially good repetitive customers, who give you weekly biz. A Friend was sitting at the bar, I said what's the deal he agreed and went on to criticize the place, specifically about that issue. After our brief conversation, I went outside to listen to the music and enjoy the half glass of Cabernet. Gone pretty quickly I wanted another so I went to the bar and stood there waiting to get the attention of the bartender, she saw me, I waited patiently, however, another couple walked in after me, who she knew and waited on them. I don't have patience for that, so I walked out, especially given that I was there the evening before with a group of 6 spending $$$. Maybe they will figure it out However, the ownership doesn't seem to care as the Vero crowd will come as they are the place to go with music every night. So beer it will be going forward. I hope the ownership will read this and figure it out. read more

Me thinks we dodged a bullet. After reading the reviews, of which one out of every three or four are good, I think we dodged a bullet during both of our attempts to visit this place. I like others want to like Grind & Grape. However, my hubs and I attempted to visit two times this year in the evening for beer/wine and light bites. However, at each visit, we weren't even acknowledged by the bar staff. They had a nice outdoor area with some live music, but there was no one there to greet patrons or indicate whether one was supposed to simply take a seat, so we ventured inside. And were ignored. Twice. By the bar staff. They appeared to have quite a lot going on each time, so after about five minutes of standing there without our presence being acknowledged in any way, we made our leave. We figured this place was probably so great they didn't need any more customers. From the negative reviews, we see that isn't really the case. read more

I used to come here all the time for the amazing pleasant environment. They used to have great local bands or solo artists entertain in the evenings and at nights but recently this changed significantly. There's club music. There's smoking permitted on grounds. I can even enjoy a relaxing atmosphere on a couch outside because of so much cigarette smoke. How sad. This place had so much potential. read more

The owner came up to me while I was standing at the side of the entrance of their bar, VERY rude, if I might add, saying "um, do you work here?" I replied... "No?" She continues to get aggressive with me, "than why the fuck are you behind my bar?" Slurring her words, I walked away, closed my tab and left. We will never be back. I literally was attacked by three barkeeps saying it's an ounce and that's that... I grumbled that that's bullshit on my way back to my table ... not loud, not offensive... I was thrown out.. btw.. I paid the bill ... let's not get into the service .. coffee all over the saucer... my wife had a cappuccino and had one of those nice sugar sticks.. I asked for one and on a Saturday early evening I was told that was the last one .. I could have packets.. really a coffee house?? The daytime barista's aren't very good at making coffee drinks. The coffee itself is not that good. Often times service can be indifferent. Even though they promote the fact that they have Wi-Fi, it often is not working. The last time I was in, I asked if they could see why the Wi-Fi was not working and was told that they were unable to access the router. I've only been here in the daytime for coffee and pastries, so it may be a different story in the evenings. I wonder who's watching the shop during the day. read more

We were slightly disappointed last weekend when we visited for first time since they reopened. For some reason, the baguette was different. I have been seeking out high quality coffee (known as third wave, craft, or artisanal) for over half a decade, and I keep detailed notes about all the coffees that I drink. But when I walked into Grind + Grape the other morning and asked the baristas about the coffee, they were quite cold and unwelcoming of my question. Turns out that they had been instructed by the owners not to disclose any details about the coffee, including as the roaster, and all that a barista would show me was a nondescript bag with no useful information. Turned out not to matter, because the brewed coffee I had, and the only one that they offer, was strictly mediocre, if that, and certainly not worth going out of my way to drink. The shop itself was pretty, and I think that my girlfriend would like the atmosphere and proximity to the water, but I will never return considering the owner's coffee secrecy policy, and the resulting way that those baristas treated me, like I was some sort of corporate spy. read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with service and employee management. If you do decide to come here to enjoy the music and get drinks, make sure to double check your drink tab. My guess is the employees charge for extra drinks here and there to subsidize the booze they are consuming during their shift. In town for a family reunion (some family members live here in Vero). We came here for the live music and atmosphere. When we first got in we were very impressed with Terri Kay. When we walked up to the bar the bartenders were taking shots so we waited a few minutes for someone to ask what we wanted to drink. The night goes on and about 20 people from our party were there. Two of the female bartenders were extremely rude. One of them get off their shift and continued drinking. The same one called my cousin a "whore". Fast forward to this morning, we all compared how much we spent and realized the bartenders overcharged us by hundreds of dollars (total). I called to address the issue this morning when they opened asking when a manager would be in and she said she didn't know. I left my information and asked to be contacted as soon as someone came in. By 4:45pm I still had not heard from anyone and decided to go in and see if I could to talk to someone in person. When I asked if a manger was in, the employee said they would check, walked in the back for 10 seconds and came back to say no one was there to talk. I asked when someone would be in and he could not give me an answer, all the while being EXTREMELY rude. I asked to see the itemized receipts for a variety of the credit cards that were used by our party. He said he could not give me that without a manager. I once again gave him my information and he told me the manager would be in later in the evening around 7:30-8. I then call around this time asking for a manager. I asked what the managers name was to come and talk to them for the variety of matters. He told me "he could not give out that information". I asked for just the first name, mind you. The way this matter has been handled is extremely unprofessional and very disappointing. My family will not be coming back to this establishment even though we are frequently here and will be sure to spread the word around town. read more

Whether I'm looking for a relaxing place to study during the day or a night out, grind and grape is always my go to place. The staff was real slow. I mean real slow. They lacked organization. Ordered the charcuterie board and was told they were out of a cheese that was supposed to be in it. Asked if they could sub something else out. Well we got the board and they were out of a meat and said we put parmesan instead. We specifically didn't want that and they took it upon themselves to disregard our request and not tell us they were out of the meat choice. Worst ever coffee shop experience. Dishonest service and bad espresso. My friend and I had work to do on our laptops so we specifically set out to find a place with wifi. I asked before ordering if there was wifi and was assured by the batista that they had wifi. I ordered a large latte and put a nice tip in the jar, as I usually do when I know I'll be camped out at a coffee shop for a while. It took a long time for our beverages, so we stood awkwardly in the dark, cluttered interior space. It's a grungy wine bar inside, and not somewhere I'd choose to hang out for a drink. We took our drinks outside to a table with a nearby outlet. Neither of us could log into the wifi. I went in and spoke with another barista, at which point I was told that the wifi can be unreliable. I asked it they could restart the router and was informed that the router is locked up and they cannot access it becuase the manager has the key and wasn't there. They just kind of shrugged about it, barely offered up an apology, even after I mentioned that I'd asked about wifi before ordering, because that's why we were there. So they outright lied to us. Im still furious about wasting my money on a flavorless latte and leaving a big tip for such terrible service. It was a waste of my time, 30 minutes in which I really needed to work, and I resent being lied to. This happened months ago, but I still kind of fume every time I pass this place. I recently realized my original review never got published. Maybe I was hoping to cool down a little before posting, but to be honest I still really hope this place closes, to make room for an honest and quality establishment that better suits the Vero vibe. read more

Holy crap. This place doesn't even do the bare minimum when it comes to Covid safety. I felt like I was living in an alternative reality because absolutely no precautions are being taken, except by some guests. As a hospitality professional, I always hate to leave a bad review, but in this situation, it can't be helped. What would have easily started as a 5-star review, quickly became a 1-star review due to the horrendous service and abysmal management. The music, dancing, and atmosphere were phenomenal... we really had a great time, but the bar/wait staff were drinking and taking shots all night. I have never had such slow, awful service, not to mention that I suspect we were way overcharged in order to support the staff's drinking habits. Additionally, this place was filthy. There were also empty glasses everywhere to the point where it was a safety concern. Glasses were only collected when they were broken and swept up which left broken glass all over the place. This type of behavior is inexcusable. Management should be embarrassed, and if I were the owner, I would clean house! read more

This place is disgusting. Flies in the pastry display. Don't look to diligently behind the coffee service top or bar top. It's pretty gross. I wouldn't eat here if they paid me to do so. Rude staff. My wife and I sat at a table by the front door. Every single staff member walked right passed us and not one of them even acknowledged us. I don't mind waiting when a place is busy. That's usually a good sign! But not one person even took the time to say "Hey guys! We're super busy but someone will be right with you." We were just ignored for about 10 minutes before we walked out. Won't give it a second try. The British Bartender who wants to fight guests seems pretty interesting though. In my opinion, this place is too cute. It's in a great location & it gives off very much industrial LA vibes (if that makes sense..) the 2 times that I've went, it was NOT busy. I wanted to try iced coffee with a holiday twist to it. Both times that I went I got a vanilla iced coffee with a couple pumps of gingerbread syrup in it & the coffee was absolutely delicious! 1 thing I can say is that there were BEES! There were bees outside the front door & even 1 inside as they kept the door open. This had me extremely freaked out as it happened to be swarming right around me. The other factor to my 4 star review goes as follows.. the 1st time I went the girl who helped me & made my drink was very friendly & outgoing. Great customer service. But the 2nd time I was the girl looked like she had an attitude. She was not friendly & just seemed like she wasn't in a good mood at all. But I get it, people have their days. Disappointed. We were the only people seating down at 10am for breakfast. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, lazy Sunday egg dish and a smoked salmon dish. It took us 45 minutes to get our food. The breakfast sandwich was small and was burnt. The lazy egg dish was tiny, maybe kids size. They tasted average. The salmon dish was the only decent sized and the bread was also burnt.
