Well came here with my cousin to listen to his friend play music. He got a flatbread pizza that looked pretty good. We got loaded chips. It took about forty minutes for them to come. The service is horribly slow. Like they probably lose out on two/thirds of drink orders because people lose hope, give up or dehydrate to death. The music was fine. The loaded chips didn't come with jalapeños which are supposed to be on there. I wouldn't come back. I feel really bummed about this place. I do badly want to love grind + grape and I feel like I have tried a lot but I am always disappointed. First of all, I go here for the "grind" part. The nightlife here is a little old for me and the cool indoor/outdoor seating allows me a nice place to work from during the week. However, the coffee isn't great and I'm not sure that the people who work during the day in the week really know how to use the coffee stuff. I feel like if you're not going to do it well, maybe just be open at night. As for working here, the wifi is the least reliable wifi ever. And... the absolute worst part is that the people who don't really know how to make coffee also decide that they are going to be DJs so they will let a song play for 15 seconds then switch it and do that again and again. It's really hard to focus let alone make phone calls with that sort of distraction and noise. I have always had high hopes for this place. All these grumpy reviews! I was intrigued and had to check this place out for myself, so I dropped in for an afternoon coffee break. What I found was a totally pleasant shop without anything to complain about that I can easily see becoming one of my regular spots. The outside courtyard is such a pretty, peaceful place to hang out. I found a nice shady spot on a comfy sofa and watched the palms sway in the breeze while I sipped my iced coffee. The coffee was delicious btw. Not overly strong, this isn't Subculture coffee, it's just a regular classic coffee that's very pleasant and easy to drink. Also had a Nutella turnover which was great. Loved the super flaky puff pastry and the rich dark chocolate - a high quality snack. Biscotti was good too. So sorry grumpy reviewers, all your complaining just made me want to experience grind + grape for myself which worked out pretty well for me. I go for coffee almost everyday and now I have a nice new place to go. read more

This review is unfortunately not about the food or drinks. During the late evening on July 19th 2019 my Wife and I decided to get drinks. This is a very nightlife type bar in the later hours and looked fun and friendly. We got to the bar and ordered some drinks, before I could pay I realized I had forgot my ID in our hotel, since we had walked from the beach I had left it behind. We shared some words and my wife and I left the building. Within moments of being outside I noticed the bartender approach us. He had followed us outside!!! He yelled and taunted us. I imagine this is a great coffee house in the morning but at night it rocks with urban vibes. Lots of tattooed short dresses and skinny guys with T-shirts. Excellent mixed drinks and a wide selection of libations. Decent menu I had some chicken wings and a couple of specialty drinks; it was a bit pricey but full of local people and looked like a lot of fun. Unfortunately they advertise live music and the only live music tonight was a living person playing ' records as a DJ. All in all a very decent night looks like a fun crowd. read more

Do not eat at this restaurant if you are local or visiting from out of town! My husband and I just had our first and last experience at this restaurant for lunch today, such a disappointment. We were the only couple in the restaurant and the service took entirely too long and the food was inedible. I ordered a salad with Chicken and after waiting over 30 minutes for our food (again empty restaurant) it a bowl of lettuce arrived. No chicken and barely any of the other ingredients mentioned on the menu for the salad. Our server did not come and ask us how our food was or we would have sent it back immediately. After tracking him down we finally received our bill which I asked for the salad to be removed. No apologize, no " can I get you something else," nothing. Actually we did receive an eye roll...which was lovely. When we finally paid, I assumed the waiter would apologize, nope. Instead we received the check and he angrily walked back inside. When I said to my husband " wow, no apologize," he essentially mocked me and said " no worries." Like we had something to be sorry about. We will not be back to this establishment. Such a shame. Great location and I am sure so many tourists go here hoping for a good meal in a fun atmosphere. You will not receive this unless these concerns are addressed in both food quality and service. read more

Don't go for the food! Not sure about the cocktails as we were told, "the bartender isn't in until 4pm." Wait. What? We ordered a beer and nachos, which were charred ...like burnt black. The server brought them out and said, "they overcooked them. Do you want to try them anyway? " Um, no. Couldn't believe she brought them out. Slow, inept service. It appeared there was plenty of staff for the small crowd, but that was not the case. Even when considering the freshness of it's opening (approx 3 days), staff should be adequately trained how to locate, serve and complete a drink order without the patron practically walking behind the bar and assisting them. Using a credit card apparently adds another few minutes to the process. Way overpriced for a non-beach side bar. A bottle of beer and a glass of wine was over $20. The staff came around with free samples of their flatbread (which was actually pretty good), but it's unclear if this will continue since it was less than a week after their grand opening. We were never offered a food menu. They're open in the morning for coffee and pastries, but we stopped by at night. They have a band area, but it's poorly executed in such a small space. It's close to impossible to have a conversation with a group, even when you're out on the patio area. There is a pretty good size seating area outside, unfortunately it was raining most of the day and it is mostly uncovered. This location used to be Blue Star (which relocated elsewhere in VB) and from what I gather from its previous regulars, Grind + Grape pales in comparison. It will attract sporadic tourists & snowbirds who are unfamiliar with the area, but I do not see locals flocking to this location unless it is able to work out the kinks before a poor reputation results. read more

I'm not sure how to review this place. I came in, hoping there was wifi, to do do some school work. There may have been, but there was not indication of such and after ordering and paying, the employees never came around to ask if I needed anything. Prices were comparable to Starbucks, but the quality was not. It was a nice quiet place, but that's because there wasn't anyone there. Their pastries were from a local bakery/cupcake place. Overpriced, just like at that particular place. I'm not a fan of that bakery either but tried the guava pastry, thinking it would be good since they just opened. It wasn't fresh, as though it was in the case for a few days. Flavor was just Ok. My iced coffee was odd. A little on the strong side, but completely flavorless...if that's possible. I thought it was because it was hot brewed poured over ice, but I'm not sure. I doctored it up with some cream and sugar. They only have granulated sugar to sweeten it which means it never dissolved. The decor is kitschy and a bit hipster. I hope they are just working out the kinks of being a new establishment. I'd love to update the review with more stars. read more

I was here for new years. The crowd was a very strange mix of different types of people. The bubble machine fake snow was rather tacky. I liked the live band but the sound quality was terrible which ruined it. The main reason I am writing this negative review is because a female bartender - long haired brunette (hopefully your boss will teach you better) - gave my mother a wine pour of no more than 4 ounces. It was the end of the bottle, i watched her wriggle out the last drops and hand it over. We pointed this out to her that this was a small pour and she said, nope, that's the standard 6 ounces. Later I watched her give massive pours to other people. What a waste of my time and Don't waste your time. *UPDATE * as I was walking out the gate I was hit kit the head/ face with a bundle of Mardi gras bead necklaces hurled from the balcony and it really hurt. My partner and I love this place. It is our go-to coffee shop in the mornings and the first and last place we stop at when we're out drinking at night. On the weekends, we bring our two young kids to listen and dance to the jazz band they have In the afternoons. The various flatbreads are our favorite food options. Endless mimosas are our jam, Sundays. Many of the desserts in their display cases are from the local bake shop, "Frostings". For every major holiday, they redecorate the whole building. We sat a 2 and tons of walk ins killed any chance of service drinks or food. Why one star? The coffee was decent and the sole employee deserves better. This place just sucked. We were never greeted by hostess or wait staff. Sat for 30 min. Still no service!. It was not crowded. The few other guests were not being served either. Finally, my husband went to the bar and ordered a beverage. We sat another 30 min. without seeing a server. Again, my husband got up and flagged someone and ordered food. Now, we waited another 45 min. No food ever served. If the musician hadn't been decent, we would have left after the first 30 minutes. So after over two hours with zero service, we paid for our drink and left. It is sad such a cute place with a good idea in a great location epically failed. When we arrived, there were probably 4 other people in the place. We sat at the bar. Our appetizer came quickly, and then we ordered a Monte Christo sandwich; 20-30 minutes later it had not arrived. We asked Max where it was; I suspect he may have forgotten to put in the order? But he checked and made some comment about how they only have one chef, and it was "being pressed at that time." I might have understood if the place was busy. Still 10 minutes later, no sandwich. I told a server/bartender that we were going to leave because it was taking so long. She came back and said "it's almost off the press". No one apologized for the length of time it took, no one was friendly, no one hardly even made eye contact. Let me start by saying I like the place and go often when I'm in Vero. I also don't write reviews unless I am tweaked. Here's my issue...I know most of the bartenders, sometimes I walk in and James has my beer ready to go without me even asking. Really like that. Shows a lot !!! So compliments to you James. However, I stopped in last Sunday eve, I was greeted with a friendly pretty smile and ordered a glass of Cabernet at the bar, the $15.00 pour was less than more, which I just don't understand, especially good repetitive customers, who give you weekly biz. A Friend was sitting at the bar, I said what's the deal he agreed and went on to criticize the place, specifically about that issue. After our brief conversation, I went outside to listen to the music and enjoy the half glass of Cabernet. Gone pretty quickly I wanted another so I went to the bar and stood there waiting to get the attention of the bartender, she saw me, I waited patiently, however, another couple walked in after me, who she knew and waited on them. I don't have patience for that, so I walked out, especially given that I was there the evening before with a group of 6 spending $$$. Maybe they will figure it out However, the ownership doesn't seem to care as the Vero crowd will come as they are the place to go with music every night. So beer it will be going forward. Me thinks we dodged a bullet. After reading the reviews, of which one out of every three or four are good, I think we dodged a bullet during both of our attempts to visit this place. I like others want to like Grind & Grape. However, my hubs and I attempted to visit two times this year in the evening for beer/wine and light bites. However, at each visit, we weren't even acknowledged by the bar staff. They had a nice outdoor area with some live music, but there was no one there to greet patrons or indicate whether one was supposed to simply take a seat, so we ventured inside. And were ignored. Twice. By the bar staff. They appeared to have quite a lot going on each time, so after about five minutes of standing there without our presence being acknowledged in any way, we made our leave. We figured this place was probably so great they didn't need any more customers. From the negative reviews, we see that isn't really the case. read more
