As a visitor from the United States that loves healthy burgers, this is the place where I fell in love with my favorite healthy burger of all time: The Chilli Addict. The chilli sauce is the perfect addition to any burger. Was in Sydney for two weeks and visited this restaurant 4-5 times just to get this burger. Service was always excellent and the staff is very flexible in allowing you to switch up ingredients at no additional cost. A must try! read more

Toasty...That's the grilled burger experience in one word. I saw the toasted buns when I entered Grill'd and was worried. However, the toasty buns actually give these burgers an element I've never explored. A nice char on the bread and crunch (while a little different on the first bite) was something I grew into as I enjoyed my burger. I tried the Crispy Bacon & Cheese burger topped with lettuce, Canadian bacon, relish, herbed mayo, red onion and cheese. The combination of the grilled bun, cheese, herbed mayo, and meat was almost like eating a gourmet panini. It would have been great to have a juicy patty to contrast with the toasted sesame bun, however the beef seems to be a bit dry. Overall, I think the Grill'd burger is an acquired taste in a different style of burger, which Grill'd delivers on quite well. My suggestion would be that grilled double up on the cheese with the toasty bread to give these burgers a "grilled cheese"-burger effect. The service was good for a fast food joint and the burger was great; we went for "The Almighty" and added a slice of pineapple for good measure. You won't regret any choice on the menu, so long as you don't actually expect the 'crispy' bacon to be crispy! The chips are where Grill'd really takes things to eleven. They're a medium-thick cut and dusted with herbs. Paired with the sweet chili mayo of the gods, it's enough to make any properly breathing human salivate. Having grown through my Maccas-infused youth (I came of age in the era of the McDonalds birthday party) and come out the other side with only the odd (drunken) craving, burgers just weren't part of my life. I probably even dismissed the first mutterings about Grill'd with a weary sigh about our increasingly Americanised culture. But allow me to eat my hat...with a side of Grill'd, if you please. These burgers are amazeballs. You can taste every fresh ingredient and the meat actually tastes like meat! So far I've tried the 'Summer Sunset' (100% lean beef, avocado, bacon, pineapple, salad, relish and herbed mayo - $11.90) and the 'Sweet Chilli Chicken' (grilled chicken breast, beetroot, shredded carrot, salad, relish and sweet chilli mayo - $9.90) - and I've enjoyed every bite. Yes you're paying a bit of a premium for your burger - I even overheard one annoyingly loud fellow proclaiming this overpriced store would never last - tell that to the crowds, chump. But it's absolutely worth it for the taste, and even the care that goes into the burgers. Case in point: takeaway burgers come perfectly wrapped and bound with a fun little tag that tells you which is which. Ok, so it turns out I'm a burger person after all. It's great to go to a restaurant where agonising over what to order isn't really a problem. Unsurprisingly, Grill'd Burger offers just that: grilled burgers. The hardest decision that you need to make is whether you want a beef, lamb, chicken or veggie burger. Perfect for a quick, satisfying lunch - as long as you're in the mood for burgers, that is. I went down the veggie burger route, as these usually cause the most disappointment. It was good to see they had choice - the Portobello mushroom was tempting, but instead I chose a patty of crushed chickpeas and some other unidentifiable, but tasty ingredients. Refreshingly un-cardboard like, and with a generous, vitamin bursting serving of salad and tomato. The burger could've been a bit warmer and perhaps more crispy, but really it was delicious and healthy. Although you have to order them separately, the chips are yummy and well worth forking out the extra cash for. The service was excellent; the staff incredibly friendly and their water-refilling skills extremely well accomplished. What gives Grill'd a big thumbs up in my book is their attitude towards food in general, and burgers in particular. I'm not vegetarian anymore, but I use to be for a couple of years so I know that having veggie burgers on the menu is a big plus. So first and foremost, thank you Grill'd for having veggie burgers on the menu. Since now I am a carnivore, I had to embrace my inner meat eater and I ordered a "Hot Mama" beef burger. There is two bread choices, traditional and white. The traditional is a wholemeal blend. There is also gluten free. The only thing that I can fault, is that I wish they had rye bread. Picky, i know. This burger was around 500 calories in total which is pretty good for a burger. The beef was grass fed lean beef, and you can really tell the difference. The beef patty was nice, tasty and juicy. Tasted like a home-style burger. The ingredients were fresh and I didnt feel disgusting after eating it. Lettuce and veggies were crisp inside. The bread was toasted and warm. You can also buy beer / alcohol at Grill'd which is a huge plus for casual dining. I love this place and I will come back again! read more

I wanted a quick, paleo meal after work tonight. Grill'd fit the bill. Their beef is grass-fed, a major plus, and they put an emphasis on good ingredients. I had the "summer sunset" burger with beef, pineapple, "crispy" bacon which definitely wasn't, avocado, salad, relish, and herbed mayo. I asked them to skip the mayo and to use a lettuce bun. They looked at me like I was crazy for the bun thing, but they did it and it was awesome! Also, they're not paleo per se, but I read the reviews and really wanted to try the fries (aka chips). They were worth the cheat - I never thought to use herbs on fries before. Mmm, even though who knows what oil they're cooked in. I'd go back here for sure! These burgers are great! I've probably tried most of the menu but my favourite is definitely the lamb burger called Goats Cheese and Hommus. (On panini bread). I'm not a fan of their chips though. I think the burgers are pricey though. The service is ok, some staff are quite friendly. I eat here all the time. So much to the point that I really wish they introduced a loyalty card. An old wise man told me "Don't ever expect anything that way you'll never be disappointed" I had expectations and I was disappointed. The first thing I noticed was how dirty the tables were - but they had 4 people on so I thought for sure they would wipe it down/reset the tables but they didn't. (wasn't busy about 7 people in the place total) Secondly I really felt like a chicken burger, but I noticed that the chicken was not free range, so I did not want to support that. So I decided that I would go with a beef burger - Summers Sets - Because of the avocado & pineapple Yummmm!! The burger looked great, but I was so disappointed, avocado was a puree not what I was expecting. The meat was very thin, wasn't as big as I thought it would be. The burger taste nice, and it was made to order but I did notice, a lot of things weren't made in store which possible means its ordered in and not made fresh. made me wonder how much avocado was in the avocado puree, and how much sugars are in the sauces. A healthy burger chain...hmm that doesnt make sense right? This chain is poppin down under and they have quite a few locations to brag about. They have a pretty straight forward menu, mainly burgers on the upper price range. You can also have extra stripes and dip-suaces on the side. Came here a late night when it wasnt crowded at all, so we got our order very quick. You order by the counter, so its hard to credit or complain about the service. The venue itself have a pretty rough interior which gives a casual vibe to the seating area. The rough environment was a even better descprition this night when the rain was pouring down outside. They had some trouble keeping it out, since there was a leakage from the ceiling. The burger was nicely served on a plate together with the stripes, but the taste didnt make me shiver. Maybe is wrong to compare it to a luxury burger, but its probably something in between that and Maccas. I cant blame them since they are a chain, and probably wanna gain some benefits due to large-scale production. Before I go into my review of the back side steak sandwich, I need to just say the "Field of Dreams" is named after the movie. I'm not really sure why they would name a veggie burger over a baseball movie, but they did. Anyways, the portions are properly sized for a burger joint. If they were small, it would not last at these prices. You may be paying a couple bucks more than you would expect, but it is larger than other places and very fresh tasting ingredients. I still don't know how you can qualify anything here as healthy. It is burgers with cheese, bacon, mayo, and some veg. Overall, its just a burger joint, nothing that really stands out to me. It was a sad meal :( I ordered the "bird and brie" burger and came here with a couple friends. They forgot my order so I didn't get my burger until my friends long finished theirs. It was awkward.. I got a half assed made burger with barely any brie and the chicken was room temperature :( they probably left my burger outside in the cold. Not worth the wait. Located in Darling Harbour, this is a lovely restaurant for a nice, hearty, and most importantly, healthy, lunch. If you're a hefty, brawny lumberjack who has not been fed in weeks, their portion sizes will suit you. If not, prepare to be overwhelmed and full to bursting. I particularly liked the feel of the place, it's quite rustic and casual while still managing to stay classy and clean. The value for money factor is a-ok yet they somehow hate foodies; so that probably convinced me to lower their score somewhat. They have gluten free buns here for their burgers, yay! Sadly, the fries are also fried with gluten stuff, so I couldn't eat them. The service was really good and the bearded guy helping us was really helpful in making sure we avoided our allergens, even down to making sure my gf bun was toasted on a safe surface. When our food came out (your order and the counter and take a number) my burger had cheese on it (I can't have dairy) so I had to send it back. They remade it and it was delicious. The gf bun was great (which is hard to find!) and it didn't fall apart like most do. They also donate to charity and when you order, you are given a token to place in the jar of the charity of your choice. Whichever one gets the most tokens, they give money to (they also donate to the second and third place charities, too). Good on them. read more

Chew-ey buns and meat, dirty water bottle and glasses, sticky and gunk-ey condiments holder (tabasco and tomato). I have been here quite a few times now and I can say that it is my go to burger destination. I have tried the beef burgers which are great but the Chicken bird 'n' Brie is just amazing. It has a delicious herbed mayo sauce and is not dry at all. The burgers are a perfect size and good value for money. The chip shared plate is plenty for two people. The sweet potato chips and zucchini chips go wonderfully with the dipping sauces. The service is good and the food comes out quite fast! read more
