We've had a wonderful experience working with Jeanette. She has been seeing our 10-year-old son,…read morewhile also providing parent coaching sessions for me and my wife, and the impact has been incredibly positive for our entire family. One of Jeanette's greatest strengths is her ability to create a safe, supportive space, especially for kids around our son's age. She quickly earned his trust, which is no small feat, and he feels comfortable opening up to her in a way that has truly helped his growth. In addition to her work with our son, Jeanette's parent coaching has been invaluable. She has helped us better understand our child and given us thoughtful, practical guidance on how to approach specific situations. She combines open, insightful discussions with meaningful education, equipping us with tools and perspectives that we continue to use every day. We're very grateful for Jeanette's care, professionalism, and dedication, and would highly recommend her to other families.

Angie Motter is the best therapist I've ever had and I've been going to therapy on and off since I…read morewas 19, and I'm 54. I am going through a contentious divorce and initially saw her with my husband twice. But he didn't want to go anymore and I was seeing my own therapist through my insurance. That therapist behaved unethically at times and I just felt uneasy with her. In fact the three therapists I tried through my insurance were all subpar. Willing and able to pay cash for a good therapist, I asked Angie if I could see her individually and I am SO happy she said yes. She is so gifted. She is enthusiastic, compassionate, an astute listener, very present, and lets me guide the sessions but also asks timely questions and makes insightful observations. She really seems to get me, is so supportive, and I feel like I'm making really good progress with her help. I'm also grateful that she does EMDR. The last session was powerful in helping me let go of a lot of anger and anxiety and have more neutrality about the abuse I experienced from my husband. She has a knack for knowing when it's the right time for EMDR and when I need time to process more immediate concerns. GTSD also provides very good customer service and I couldn't be happier with my experience there.

I completed Dr. Wendy's Renaissance course and it was definitely a life changing experience for me…read more I had been working with her for 3 months individually and decided to attend her 5 day intensive course. I was at a crossroads in my life so to speak and Dr. Wendy, along with my fellow Renny's, helped me through it and along the way helped me realize that I was enough and deserved more and better. I highly recommend working with Dr. Wendy and if you are lucky enough to attend her Renaissance work shop I highly recommend it as well.

UNBELIEVABLY off-base. First time I met with her was with…read moremy sister, via web conference. Reason we were meeting was to resolve long-standing family issues. I'm the family scapegoat, purpose of family therapy - address elephant in the room. Why rules which applied to everyone else, did not apply to me. My (narcissist/golden child) sister insisted on meeting with her first, before we met together, the 3 of us. Unaware of what was said in that first meeting, was still hopeful Dr. Hill could help to bring awareness to my family about this toxic family dynamic, so that we could move on harmoniously, as a family. While family scapegoating abuse (FSA) is increasingly more common & gaining awareness, it's not fully understood by mainstream therapists. In this situation, counseling can do more harm than good. Especially for the person who's been systemically abused since childhood, not only by the mentally ill/narcissist parent who targeted her, but rest of the family who learned (consciously/subsconsciously) to treat her as the family trash can. That said, during our FIRST session, Dr. Hill said to me, "you DO know you are an alcoholic, right?" I was shocked. I am NOT an alcoholic. Not even CLOSE! And who the hell is SHE to tell ME I am an alcoholic? She didn't even KNOW me. I LITERALLY just met her. No words to describe how offensive this was. Even my sister agreed how bizarre and completely inappropriate this "diagnosis" was. It was just WRONG. I'll be filing a complaint with CA Board of Psychology. This person should NOT have a license. Talk about "doing more harm than good." FYI - not a wonder her therapist license was revoked (aka "voluntarily surrendered") for "unprofessional conduct" in 2007. So how is she still practicing? A loophole law, aka starting a "non-profit" as "ordained minister" several years later. Just exposing the obvious, so that others can make an informed decision. Proceed with caution. *IMPORTANT & RELEVANT- Maria M.'s review - posted only MINUTES after mine? Previously only 33 reviews. Ever posted. IMMEDIATELY after I post mine, Maria M. decides to post her review? What a strange "coincidence?" Again, encouraging everyone to decide for themselves what's going on here. But ... what are the odds?

After four years of working together, the therapeutic relationship ended during a period of…read moresignificant distress for me. Attempts to address concerns did not lead to repair, and the focus shifted toward protecting the therapist's personal boundaries rather than supporting stabilization or closure. I left feeling blamed for my distress and unsupported at the end of care. This experience was destabilizing and painful, particularly given the length of the relationship. I encourage others with complex mental health needs to discuss in advance how conflict, boundaries, and termination are handled.

I reached out to Coastal Counseling after reading the great reviews. It took days before hearing back from anyone and then after giving my information to the receptionist (?) they said they would reach out to the therapists to see who would want to take us on. Weeks go by and so I follow up and then the person asks me all the same questions again and then says the same exact thing...they'll reach out to the therapists. Another week goes by and then I get a text message asking if we could do an apt 2 hours before I told them my husband gets home from work. Which is not doable for us. Still waiting to hear back....guess I should look elsewhere. There services are probably great, if you can wait around long enough to actually get an appointment with someone.
