There was no non-alcholic drink menu, not even a section on the food menu. We ordered the Toasted Ravioli to share, and I got the Fried Haddock. The ravioli was good but the haddock was a bit dry. Not unbearably so but enough that I definitely noticed. When the check came and I was given the receipt to sign, they didn't include a pen so once again we had to stand up to get someone's attention. Everything was reasonably priced, and would have been worth it if the service hadn't been so lacking. I won't be in a rush to return.

With the revitalization of downtown and the return of the Utica AHL hockey team, Gerber's has been brought back to life. Excellent burgers and the drink prices are classic Utica reasonable. It's got the warm vintage thing inside as well. A great place to visit if you are staying at the Doubletree or are on the way to watch hockey. The original Gerber was a Jewish fella who ran the speakeasy back in the early part of the 20th century.

The food remains consistently excellent. The service continues to decline. The average wait time is 20 minutes beyond your reservation time. Once you are finally seated, the wait staff are knowledgeable and friendly and will help you select your evening repast. And then you will wait again. Typically at least 20 minutes for your food. For your drinks, for your appetizers. It wasn't always like that. There is an internal inefficiency in their kitchen operations in recent months that results in delays. They seem to have enough staff. They just seem to have lost their rhythm. The ambience is lovely, the table settings fine. But there are little things that are slipping. As you can tell from my many reviews of this restaurant over the last several years, this beautiful establishment has achieved four stars. But today in June 2026, their beautiful cuisine is served on nice porcelain plates, but their coleslaw is served in a paper cup. The music is way too loud so you can't have a conversation at the table unless you scream. And they claim to not be allowed to turn the music down. They clearly cater to the 30 and under crowd. The 60s and older are not a priority for them. Wine is properly served, and the drinks are nicely mixed but to get a refill will take you a very long time. When the tables around you are empty, it begs the question as to what is the cause of the delay. My last two dinners here experienced these inexcusable delays. I hope they get the problem straightened out. Because this really is a destination restaurant.

But the bar patrons seemed happy and the bar area was more warm feeling in terms of ambiance. So if you and some friends want a place to grab a pint and have a burger, I'd recommend it but I wouldn't recommend anything we ate.

Barmaid was fabulous,friendly and patient..... I ordered a fish fry and couldn't believe how much it looked exactly like the picture in someone else's review. Overall nice place.
