Once we were seated, no waitress came to greet us until after 15 minutes when my party member got up to tell someone that no one had come yet. There was no non-alcholic drink menu, not even a section on the food menu. We ordered the Toasted Ravioli to share, and I got the Fried Haddock. The ravioli was good but the haddock was a bit dry. Not unbearably so but enough that I definitely noticed. When the check came and I was given the receipt to sign, they didn't include a pen so once again we had to stand up to get someone's attention. Everything was reasonably priced, and would have been worth it if the service hadn't been so lacking. I won't be in a rush to return.

I had to stand and go get someone to help us. Food was mid, looked better than it tasted. My friend had the fish fry and it was dry, I had the Florentine pizza and it was okay, not bad but also nothing to ride home about. We also had the toasted raviolis, again, not bad but just not "I can't wait to have them again". Big place, I would say good for big groups as I saw many.

With the revitalization of downtown and the return of the Utica AHL hockey team, Gerber's has been brought back to life. Excellent burgers and the drink prices are classic Utica reasonable. When we arrived, the gentleman at the front was on a call and never made eye contact or acknowledged us. After waiting about five minutes, I was nearly ready to leave, but another staff member came in and kindly seated us. Unfortunately, the service remained very slow throughout the meal. Nearly everything took 20-30 minutes, and we eventually had to flag down staff ourselves to keep things moving. There was also an error with one of our sides, and our appetizer bread only came after we flagged someone down to ask about it. The food was actually quite good and ultimately saved the experience. Highlights were the focaccia bread, crispy fish tacos, and Brussels sprouts. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but there is significant room for improvement in efficiency, accuracy, and customer service. Several members of the team could benefit from additional training.

The best part was the Irish bacon on them. My husband had the Philly Steak. It was good but bland he said. One of our friends had the New England chowder. She said it was good. Our other friend had the fish sandwich but didn't eat all of it. He said it didn't taste great. Everyone loved the fries. The atmosphere is not warm and cozy. It's rather sparse. But the bar patrons seemed happy and the bar area was more warm feeling in terms of ambiance. So if you and some friends want a place to grab a pint and have a burger, I'd recommend it but I wouldn't recommend anything we ate.

My husband had the peanut butter whisky espresso martini and the chocolate covered strawberry old fashioned, and loved both. For dessert, we split a chocolate coconut crème brûlée and a strawberry and cream dessert that was absolutely to die for -- hands down the highlight of the night. The service was phenomenal, our waitress checked on us several times and provided excellent recommendations. She even served our dessert with sparkler when she heard it was our anniversary. Only complaint: the music felt a little out of place for the ambience. It was quiet when we got there but got pretty rowdy by the time we left. Still, the cocktails and desserts more than made up for it. Will definitely be back!

It's one of those appetizers that's easy to judge a kitchen by, and this one was done exactly right. Great flavor, great texture, and clearly made with care. The ambiance is fantastic. Silk has that upscale-but-comfortable feel where you can relax but still feel like you're somewhere special. The lighting, décor, and overall vibe make it a great spot whether you're grabbing drinks with friends or settling in for a full evening out. Service was top notch from start to finish. Attentive without hovering, friendly, and knowledgeable--exactly what you hope for when trying a new place. The drink program really stands out. The cocktails were interesting and expertly prepared, and you can tell the bartenders know what they're doing. They also have a large selection of spirits, including plenty of off-the-beaten-path bottles for people who like to try something different. It's a great place to explore beyond the usual picks. Overall, Silk delivers across the board--great food, excellent service, a stylish atmosphere, and a seriously solid bar program. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in Utica.
