Stayed at Hyatt for first time. Usually at the Crowne Plaza as Hyatt is usually too expensive but Crowne was booked and only $121AUD for a room.
One night was tired so we decided to 'stay in' as there is absolutely nothing around the Hyatt. You either eat in or get an Uber to City Center. Now, that not far away but did not feel like going to the CDB,
It was a ACT holiday so the hotel was dead. The $58AUD for a dinner buffet was a bit steep but then informed because it was a holiday there was a 10% up charge. OK, its Australia and the rules are different here. Say down, asked for a cup of coffee and was informed all drinks outside tap water had a charge, at a buffet. OK, did not think wine was free but coffee??
I do have to say that the salad bar was pretty good. Some of the better cheese and olives had in a while. The actual dinner was just OK as the selection were actually pretty slim and expected a bit more than one meat, one Fish and some steamed veggi's
Would have been a two but the cheese and olives were that good. But, though I travel to Canberra a lot and would stay in the hotel again (the room was outstanding) I wont be eating here again as not worth the cost. Will be taking an Uber to CBD for better food for less money, to include the Uber price. Sorry Hyatt. read more
