The company that installed the pavers for Griffin installed pavers we didn't order and then tried to talk us in to keeping them, should have realized at that point their interest was not in our best interest. I want to first start off by saying we received a few quotes from pool contractors . Some made appointments with us and never showed up. The ones that did did not shine like Paul of Griffin Pool did. We ultimately used Griffin Pool after multiple co-workers gave a five star rating of this company. However i would have went with them even if i had not heard such wonderful things after meeting Paul. Paul came to our home and took a great deal of time to show me samples, pictures of pools they had done and he listened to exactly what i wanted. The appointment was set around my schedule and it was such a laid back experience. His expertise showed, i told him what i envisioned, my use for the pool and long term expectations. At a later date We were given computer generated drawings of our home with pool that i had envisioned. Loved seeing it. We have done so many projects arounds this older home we own and by far this was the easiest addition we have done. It was done in around 12 weeks i believe-and we were given a bound book of what to expect (this was so helpful). The book they gave i cant say enough about it: i named it, what to expect when building a pool, LOVED IT! Our property was for the most part kept clean during this massive project. They responded quickly if we needed them and we did not run into any large expense outside of contract. Every person we came into contact with during our pool experience was professional. Wanted to also add Russ who taught us pool school worked around our scheduled and on more than one occasion helped us after business hours with questions: with quick resolve. Advice to others: just allow them to do what they do. They are the experts. If you don't see anyone for a few days, you are not forgotten. They are going to get you done and its going to be fantastic in the end! In closing would definitely use them again if needed and would highly reccomend them to others. read more

Our pool is beautiful but we have a cracked tile in the spa and have repeatedly told Griffin about it. They don't return calls so my husband went there in person to see about getting something done. This is NOT the first time he had to go there in person to get answers. The first time was about the hand rail that was supposed to have been installed when the pool was built. They 'forgot' it even though it was on the drawing. Then they tried to say that the manager or someone said we called and said we didn't want the hand rail. That was a straight up lie. We never talked to the person they said told them that. We told them about the cracked tile months and months ago and it still has not been fixed. All in all I would never recommend Griffen Pools. Their customer service is terrible. read more

This company does not honor contracts. We were on their waitlist with $4000 down for 8+ months.... When we finally checked in with them for an update, they told us that our contract was no longer valid because prices went up. They wanted to increase our contracted price by 30k!!! Not only did they do an excellent job as the pool was being built, they continue to stand behind their work when we needed their help with the unexpected when they could just as easily not assisted w resolution. I'm feel that they demonstrate care and compassion toward their customers, something uncommon in today's world. Not sure what happened to Griffin but we were referred by our in-laws who said they were excellent. We reached out to them and someone came to do an assessment. Unfortunately, we stopped hearing back from them. We reached out asking for update and they stated they are busy and would get back to us. It's been several months and nothing. Very disappointed. Hope other have better success. read more

Griffin was sold to new owners.The worst experience with a building contrator ever. Not anything like the old ownership. Completely a failure in all aspects. We do have a pool but the craftsmanship of the finished product is like an apprentice did the work, not a trained professional. Definitely do not recommend. New ownership will say anything to appease you, but delivery is seriously lacking. read more

Griffin pools built our pool in 2004 suppose to be under warranty. I have a whole in the concrete they called several times speaking with different people was told by 2 people they would call me back and never did then i called back 2 weeks later spoke with a gentleman, which then told me they don't do resurfacing i said no my pool is under warranty said would call me back and has never received a call back yet that was over a month again. I will be calling again today then i will get a lawyer to handle this. read more

Worse experience I ever had. Poor communication, sometimes days before I would get a response. They shut off my main irrigation pipe and dug out my valves and couldn't tell me before time. Now it will cost me thousands for a new system and new sod. The response I get, "it's in the contract" by Andy (President). Terrible business..... They communicate well when they want a check. In the contract it does say whatever damage they cause by digging is the homeowners problem, it doesn't say we can purposely cause damage and not tell the homeowner. I was told it was in the construction booklet on page 12, nope. And that is a bold face lie, I never told anyone "I love my gorgeous pool". It is not in the construction booklet and it was never conveyed to me in any way. Sam told me they will take the irrigation system into consideration going forward before the construction phase for future pools they do. Andy, please show here where it says you have the right to shut my irrigation system off and your negligence is the homeowners responsibility in the contract. Also, please show where it is in the construction booklet since you will no longer communicate with me and all future communication needs to go through your lawyer. Page 2 states any damage unbeknownst to Griffin, your company shut off my main feed and ripped up my valves, it was known to you. read more

Dear Melinda H., I came online today because I had been meaning to post a positive ending to my previously negative review but had been so busy with everything following my father's passing. Instead I found that you had written a response to my review which included my full name and other non-public, unnecessary information. It is my choice to withhold my full name just as it is yours. I would note two things (a) the lack of a last name included in your response and (b) the fact that Yelp does not allow last names to be displayed in their public reviews. One might think that was to protect someone's privacy. I find your company's handling of this situation to be extremely inappropriate. While I would expect a company to use Yelp as a forum to promote business, I would hope that this would be done in an honest manner. The use of my full name and family situation feels as though it was used to discredit my negative review and conduct damage control on behalf of Griffin Pools. The fact that my deceased father's house may go into foreclosure should not be used to imply that our review on your service was based on a cost. The fact remains that your business was the only business who thought it necessary to attempt to upsell us into something we did not need. One would expect more integrity from a company with which they conduct business. And we did find the tile through another local business, as the pool is in otherwise great condition. Please expect a phone call from me tomorrow asking you to kindly remove my name from your previous post. It is unnecessary to the context of my experience. Should you not wish to remove my name, please know that I will issue a complaint against your company with Yelp. Griffin pools gave us an A+ experience throughout the entire process. We were kept informed and everything was done exactly as they promised. The owner, Andy, was easily reachable by phone, text and email and he replied quickly and politely, even in the evenings and weekends. Their crews did an amazing job and we absolutely love our pool and screen. They even threw in extras we were not expecting such as multi-colored LED lights (which are programmable and very cool!),pool cleaning equipment and a month of free pool cleanings. They also provided us with a professional "what to expect" booklet which came in very handy which had a checklist so we knew exactly where we were throughout the build. At the end, their pool school was informative and they showed us how to correctly take care of our lovely oasis. When it comes to a great experience, it's always the little things that make it memorable, and Griffin Pools exceeded our expectations. Before making our decision, we shopped around quite a bit. Griffin Pools not only had the best pricing for the pool and screen enclosure that we wanted, but we also had other pool builders telling us how great they are!
