Fantastic experience with SUNation Energy. Was referred by a friend and had great dialogue with our…read morespecialist Rob Moser. He walked us through the process, the benefits of solar and what set up makes most sense for us. He also was able to get us great pricing which was almost 10% lower than other estimates. Paperwork and payment was a breeze! Once the permit was approved (took about 5 weeks after signing the agreement), they came and installed the panels in a few days which was impressive (probably lucked out with availability). The install crew (was literally an army! about 8-9 guys) came promptly at 7:45AM (15 minutes early which was great) and was finished by 1PM. The head of the crew walked me through the process and closed out great showing me the app and next steps. Clean up was also fantastic as nothing was left behind. Currently we are waiting for the inspection so we can start banking the unused solar for future use. But still we are generating over 45 kWh daily (on a sunny day) and our average usage is about 30 (we have 2 EV's) so we are about 150% efficiency which is great. Though we can not bank yet, we are still utilizing solar power so our electric bill for the past week will be minimal. All in all, SUNation Energy is extremely professional, very knowledgeable and customer service seems to be a top priority to them. My neighbor and inlaws are now interested in solar and will be referring them to SUNation and Rob Moser - they also have very nice cash incentives for referrals!!!

I received my first, almost zero electric bill, and have banked enough kwh to keep us at zero cost for a long while. My only problem is that it's difficult not to follow the reporting software on a day-to-day basis. It's a habit I'll have to try to get over. I interviewed 4 solar companies before choosing Sunation. Working with Sunation proved it to be the right company and a pleasant experience. Their on-line programming seemed to be perfect and all the legal stuff was perfectly clear. If I needed to speak with someone, they were always there. The phone is always answered by someone who knows the answer or knows who knows. And since we're in for the long haul, it's good to know that the service line is always responsive. Approvals from the City and from ConEd seemed to be right on time just as they advised. Their master electrician served as our planning consultant for the physical installation and he made sure to seek my input at each step. When the time came for the installation the Sunation crew was amazingly efficient and the crew chief explained everything. The job was done earlier than was promised and with a thorough clean-up. And the system just works, quietly and powerfully. I couldn't be more pleased.

We hired Best Energy Power to install a solar system on our co-op building. What followed has been…read moreone of the worst contractor experiences we've ever had. From the very beginning of the project, the owner, Ronnie Mandler, was a nightmare to deal with -- combative without provocation, dismissive, disrespectful, and consistently unprofessional. Communication was difficult from day one, and any attempt to ask reasonable questions or request documentation was met with hostility. During the project, DOB issued a Stop Work Order. Although the immediate safety issue was corrected, Best Energy Power never obtained written confirmation from DOB that the SWO was lifted. Despite this, they resumed work anyway, completed the installation, and even closed out their permit while the SWO was still active. Years later, we discovered the SWO was still open in DOB records. When we contacted BEP asking for documentation proving it had been lifted, Ronnie again insisted the issue was "resolved" but refused to provide any proof, and when we pressed for answers, they completely ghosted us. When we tried--in good faith--to clean up the DOB record ourselves, the City issued a violation and a $16,000 penalty for work performed during an active Stop Work Order. BEP has refused to take responsibility, despite the violation arising directly from their actions and despite contract language requiring DOB compliance and indemnification. We are now being forced to hire lawyers and pursue legal action to recover penalties that should never have existed. This is time-consuming, expensive, and entirely avoidable. We regularly host tours in our building for other co-ops considering electrification and solar. We were already warning people to be cautious about working with Best Energy Power well before this happened. Now we are unequivocal: DO NOT WORK WITH THEM.

They came 5 or 6 times for a 2 day job. They all seemed nice enough guys but, when their electrician started popping holes in my house & then, abandoning those holes to reroute the conduit, I spoke up. The electrician reaked of weed. He popped an inch and a half hole in the back of my house and then decided to go in another direction with the conduit. He abandoned the hole and filled it with expanding spray foam insulation. There were other abandoned holes drilled for straps for the conduit as well. Those holes he just filled with little rolled up balls of duct seal. When I brought it to the company's attention, they made all kinds of suggestions how they could fix it. From ripping down all of the conduit, residing the back of my house and then re-doing the entire conduit and wire job. I really didnt need all that & honestly, I didn't wanna have these guys crawling all over my new roof anymore than they'd had already been. I contacted the original company that I signed my agreement with for them to handle it with surf clean. Surf Clean had three or four different people contacting me. The sales guy, their head electrician, the owner. I did not want that. I just wanted the job cleaned up and done right. There was no need to redo this entire job and keep these guys around my house for another week or so. I would've been happy if they just cleaned up the holes patched them that it looked decent. They said that they would add critter guards for my trouble. Even that they did not complete. So in the end, they left a Shitty half ass job and walked away, never to be heard from again. Do not use these guys they do not stick to their word. I'm a blue collar guy and work in the electrical industry. I guess I was too lenient and understanding & once they figured they pissed me off. They never came back. I'm probably going to take them to court on principal.
