Last night, myself, and 30 others had to wait for 4 for my next bus, which wasn't an issue. The issue was, the bus station closing at 10:00pm and sitting outside in until 2:00am without explanation. Rats and homeless were everywhere and we were under a freeway. Customer service told me they can reschedule my next bus for 11:00am. I demanded a refund and ended up camping out at the airport where I am now and will be home at 7:00pm tonight. I wanted to ride the bus for the sights, but will NEVER use the bus again. read more

**Disturbing Experience at Seattle Bus Station on July 7, 2025** I'm writing to formally express my deep disappointment with the treatment we received at the Seattle bus station before our scheduled 2:30 PM trip to Vancouver. We arrived around 1:00 PM, only to be told by the sole staff member on duty that we had to leave because she was going on a lunch break. When my mother--who does not speak English fluently--politely asked to use the restroom before the station closed, the staff member denied access, responded rudely, and shockingly threatened to call 911 and cancel our tickets, accusing us of trespassing. This behavior was not only unprofessional but caused my mother, who suffers from anxiety, to experience a panic attack. Her respectful attempts to communicate were met with hostility instead of basic courtesy or assistance. We were never informed that the station would close during this period--neither by the company nor via any online sources like Google Maps or Apple Maps. We were simply trying to follow normal travel procedures and were met with aggression. This incident was distressing and completely avoidable. I hope the company takes this matter seriously and provides a timely, thoughtful response. read more

Oregon to Idaho with a stop to switch buses in Seattle. the Driver was very ride from the start so much so she called me because she was upset at his yelling at people for nothing. They arrived at 10:45 pm 15 minutes late but the driver assured her and 1 other lady being transferred that their bus was still there and wouldn't leave them. Well it did leave before they got there and then at 12am they were kicked out in the cold (30 degrees) and freezing and left on a bench for 7 hours overnight scared to death ( have you been downtown in Seattle at night?, she had not.) She was scared at the drugs and fights she was seeing. I lost contact with her after an hour and tried calling customer service, what a joke! Marco (a supervisor) told me after no solution was available I should take better care of my sister in the future and not buy a nightime ticket! That's all they had for Christmas week folks. Then after calling back another supervisor "Bill" told me if I was so upset maybe I should drive the 8 hours myself and take care of her myself because they cant do anything about leaving her outside freezing and scared. I'm appalled that he said this happens often and I should just understand their policies about late buses. you would think communication between the drivers of these buses would fix this, but apparently it is common place. NEVER use Greyhound and never call their customer service because they aren't even in the US! Both times I got India and couldn't understand them very well except their insults. they couldn't even tell me what time it was where she was and wouldn't admit they weren't in the country but it was very obvious they weren't. Me and my 2 children bought bus tickets from everett wa to grants pass oregon, with a 55 min layover in Seattle on July 5th 2025 anyways so we get on the bus in everette arrived on time. We get to seattle the bus is supposed to be there at 11:10 pm well at around 12:30 am I get a message from greyhound saying the bus had been delayed untill 4:30 am so everybody there waiting for the bus ends up falling asleep the station was closed so we all had to sleep outside on the cement my kids included 4:30 rolls.around started getting excited. About 6:30 am a lady comes over and says you have to call greyhound and reschedule.. so we call there is not another bus comeing untill 11:10 pm the next night so I called my kids mother in everett and had her come and get us. Then i have her call and get us new tickets. Tge lady transferd our tickets from seattks but said we'd already used our ticket from everett... like seriously? If I knew the us was not coneing we woukd have never gotten ob the bus in everett and if we would not have been on that bus our tickets wiukd have been canceled eve. Though the bus never came in Seattle. The greyhound customer service had no idea what was going on with the bus or where it was at. Maybe they shoukd think about reorganizing and selling tickets for days there's an actual bus leaving that location... instead of trying to make as much money as they can and scamming people.. however when we finally got on the bus the driver was super nice. The only reason we are takeing a bus is because I can not get a reall id right now now we have to go back to wash from here and I already bought the tickets for August 2nd hopefully it goes better because I have appointments on August 4th. read more

Sometimes you just have to Seattle down, but after coming to Seattle for my first ever trip (and second, and third) on the Greyhound, I decided not to Seattle in Seattle. Not yet, anyway. I was a little 18 year old baby when I first came to Seattle Greyhound station. I was coming to visit the most beautiful Italian American goddess (hi L), she was taller than me and so tanned and so perfect. She had recently gotten out of a bad relationship and unfortunately after our relationship she would get back into the bad relationship as far as I know, but for those few weeks we were free and wild and very different. It felt so nice to be loved and it felt so nice to be with such a beautiful woman (10 years my senior) in such a beautiful lush green unspoiled and amazing part of the world. I'll never forget it. That all started at this Greyhound station. The Greyhound station itself had some shady characters as you can imagine, but it was right in the middle of the heart of everything in Seattle, which to this day remains one of my favourite cities. I used the main Greyhound here and then the Seattle Express service on several occasions too. Run by the same company, and may still be. They also have cheap package services which you can use, which are pretty awesome. I'll always love it here and will always come back here whenever I can. I would probably give it a 4-star rating overall, but considering that it means so much in my memories, I have no choice but to give it a 5-star rating. read more

Surprised to hear their policy for no cancellation and refunds even within few hours of booking. Even airlines have 24 hours free cancellation. They told they will only provide vouchers and that too with hefty cancellation fee which is almost 50% of my booking amount of 412$. Worst part is that they charged even more than the actual bus service which they booked for me. The actual bus service charges 45$ less and have good refund policy of 10$ per person, if the bus service they booked for me is okay to cancel and refund then why can't greyhound. Never ever will book greyhound again and recommend same to family and friends. read more

I was to take a train from Olympia to Salt Lake City. The leg from Sacramento to Salt Lake City was cancelled because of snow. It was Easter weekend so finding a way home was not easy. I could not go by way of Portland because that bus was full. I had to go by way of Seattle (a city I loved and lived in for many years). We left Olympia at 2:15 a.m. and rode the bus to the Royal Brougham Terminal in Seattle. We arrived at 3:30 a.m. My next bus was due at 8:45 a.m. When I got off the bus I saw on the door of the terminal that it was to open at 3:30 a.m. I looked through the window and saw some seats, a couple of restrooms, a vending machine and some signs flashing information. To my dismay, I found the terminal locked up. I asked the driver when it would open, but he didn't know. We sat outside, there was a bench. Occasionally a bus would come by and pick up passengers, but none of the drivers knew when the terminal would open. Also there was no Porta-Potti, so we could not legally relieve ourselves for 7 hours! The area was not safe with drunks and homeless people. It was also raining and no shelter from that. I called Grayhound Bus several times and got recordings regarding purchasing tickets. I supposed those of us who ride the bus are poor, or we would have driven or flown and poor people don't deserve any respect or dignity. read more

They outsource customer support and cannot be reached directly. This caused me a lot of stress and resulted in me wasting almost $200 on an Uber. I needed to speak with this Seattle station to get clarification on the location of my bus and its departure time. Instead, I was routed to their customer call center, who misinformed me that the bus had left for Portland already, and was about to pass Tacoma. I had to spend $195 for an Uber to Olympia, racing a bus that never actually left early. Then I sat in the station at Olympia for over an hour at 3am waiting for the bus to arrive while sketchy people and stray cats wandered through the area. The bus arrived, and I made it to Portland, very exhausted and broke. Instead of outsourcing your call center, maybe let us actually speak to the people who know what's going on at the station. read more

I needed to get to Salt Lake City, Utah from Olympia, Washington. The bus left Olympia at 2:15 a.m. It was not a nice area in Olympia. It's where the homeless camp out and no terminal. We got to Seattle at 3:30 a.m. We had a layover in Seattle at a terminal in a terrible part of Seattle. The terminal was scheduled to open at 3:30 a.m. I could see that the terminal had restrooms, vending machines and a board displaying information. I tried to get into the terminal but the door was locked. I thought perhaps the terminal would open in a few minutes. My next bus came at 8:45 a.m. During all that time the terminal never opened. There were no porta-potties and we are talking about 6 or 7 hours without a restroom. The area we were in was questionable. It was filthy and there were a lot of homeless people. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER!!! I was traveling home to Washington from Vancouver BC, and purchased a Greyhound bus ticket. I showed up at 8:30pm (for a 10pm "departure"). Online, the status of our bus was "on-time"... but it never showed up. There were other people waiting for the same bus, equally confused. By 10:45pm, a few of us called the Greyhound hot line, and after being hung up on a few times, was told that our bus was actually CANCELLED. No one received a notification that it was cancelled/no-showing... and the online status STILL said it was on-time/on-schedule. Everyone was upset. It was almost midnight at that point, and we were stranded at the station in a foreign city (I'm a young female, so you can imagine how angry my parents were). I called the Greyhound number AGAIN and was told in order to be refunded [for a bus that NEVER came], I had to fill out a form online. Guess what? Greyhound *denied* my refund requests because they "could not find any delay or cancellation for my trip".... WTF! They also make it damn-near impossible to talk to an actual human being. And when you finally reach a human, they can't do ANYTHING to fix the situation and just direct you to use automated-forms ..... LOL I will never use Greyhound again. YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER!!!! The most unprofessional, unreliable, careless transportation company. YUCK. read more

After arriving at the Seattle Airport at 10 pm I took the light rail to the Greyhound station to wait for a bus heading north at 1:30 am. At 1:15 the guy working at the station told all of us to line up by Door B. We lined up and watched the driver pull up, open the door, futz around with something in the drivers seat, close the door, and drive away. At 2:15 am, after 45 minutes of trying to get some sort of recompense or plan for travel out of greyhound's phone customer service (with no success). the station closed and I was left with nowhere to go in downtown Seattle holding a rolling suitcase. Luckily I had access to just enough money to get a Lyft to a friend's parent's house and sleep there for the night. The next day I caught a different bus north and began the process of trying to get some sort of compensation for the outrageous incompetence and inconvenience of the night before. I'm currently three weeks in to this process and their last three responses have been something to the tune of 'you were issued another ticket north, so we don't actually owe you anything' followed be the absurd 'we hope this won't deter you from using our services again'. The ONLY reason why I chose this way home was because it left hours earlier than all other options in Seattle. Big mistake. First off, my 7:35am to Corvallis never showed up and marked as "delayed". All of us say until 1pm, in which we boarded to Portland, arriving at 5pm - up until this point, we were under the impression we were continuing on...nope, "you need to transfer to a new bus." My son has been a customer for years now and to hear that this morning his friend and him attempting to catch the bus to Yakima was Rudely approached by one of your drivers stating that he doesn't understand how she was going to be able to take care of her baby on the bus ride when this child is almost 1 years old and has a wonderful mother with vision problems, who can probably take care of their child better than a person with 20/20 vision not only did you belittle her, embarrass her but you did the same to my son who was with her and then you refuse to let them catch the bus because my son was taken back by the way he was treated and responded in a way that was right because you are violating their rights and as a mother I'm going to say something but my son wasn't born yesterday so I hope you're ready! Lol don't ever come here. The people are so rude (including the bus driver). It's like they hate their lives so much they wanna ruin your day. This is my second time on a greyhound bus and it's been a bad experience for both times. I'd rather pay over $100 to be comfortable on a train and be treated like a person. Maybe it's not every driver or every person, maybe we just got stuck with the people who weren't happy with their lives that day. I'm just sharing mine and other people's experience. The bus to Leavenworth didn't show up on the bus tracker that the email told me to check day of. We tried to call customer service and was on hold for over 25 minutes. We came just to talk to the front desk and the bus was there about to board when we arrived. No communication whatsoever. Same with my first experience. So annoying. Piece of advice, if you do end up buying a greyhound bus ticket, get a refundable one. Something always seems to come up and you want to make sure you get refunded just in case. Review would be a negative if it was possible. read more

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. This station is so ghetto, it's unbelievable! The station sits at the edge of Downtown Seattle and as soon as you walk in, the main lobby (which is all there really is, a main lobby) is the smallest, shadiest, dirty looking lobby ever. The floors look so old that even if they were to be cleaned, would still look nasty. There are SO MANY BUMS walking around inside and they keep bothering people. They would ask individuals for money once and then walk away. Then, they would return a few minutes later and instead of asking for money, they would just randomly try to start conversations with you. Creepy!! A clean typical me and a few other like people didn't even know each other and naturally we chose to sit next to or across from each other to kind of stay close and away from all of the weird hippies, transients, homeless, killer-looking druggies, women that looked like they were used one too many times for the day, and smelly people. My bus was supposed to leave at 7pm for Vancouver and I didn't end up getting on it until well past 10pm. Combine this with all of the above mentioned walking around, in-and-out, and I had one tense and scary wait! The security guard was a frail filipino man that could barely walk. If something seriously went down, he would go down without much effort. He could barely even stand up straight he limped every where he went. You could push the guy down with your pinky finger and he would not even bother getting up. Are you serious!?!? The security guard was a joke. There was only one worker guy at the ticket counter and he wasn't very friendly and he was a bit creepy. He reminded me of the typical guy that is portrayed to be the creepy butler of the haunted mansion. Like seriously? Does Greyhound still even know this station is open?? Worst bus station ever. And what's sad is that this was my first time taking Greyhound (or any bus long-distance for that matter) so it paints a horrible first time experience. read more

Oh no, I should have read some of the reviews before attempting travel on the greyhound. I'll cut to chase - I never actually got on the bus. After waiting 3+ hours from my scheduled departure and the staff telling me they had "no clue" when the bus would arrive...I got a refund and went home. One bus showed up 5+ hours late from its scheduled departure. No information about anything running late online and there are no updates, so you are forced to wait in the very unpleasant station until your bus may or may not show up. I don't understand how they are still in business. read more

We are currently on the side of the highway. Busted belt and over heating. We are told they are short in buses so our only option is to wait for a mechanic to come fix the bus. I realize these things happen, however, as big a company as Greyhound is, I am quite surprised that they are ok with having all of us on the side of the highway for several hours to even maybe a day. There has to be better service or plans put in place in case of these things. Now everyone will miss their other buses and who knows what time we will actually get back on the road. UPDATE: SO, the mechanic fixed the belt and we got on the road, 15 minutes later, the belt broke again. We waited again for a mechanic and it took 3 hours to tell us he has no idea what is wrong. So we keep asking questions about another bus, the driver is overwhelmed and doesn't have any answers, customer service was of absolutely no help to any of us as we were stranded. They won't refund anyone ticket or even reimburse. They said we might be able to get a discount on our next trip???? We were on the side of the highway in the mountains near the pass for 5 hours and they couldn't care less about their customers. It's truly sad that the very people that keep them in business are always treated like cattle. Shame on you Greyhound!!! read more

Before boarding all the driver was interested in was my COVID-19 test. He asked if I was Canadian or American. The latter I said and he started shaking his head. My test showed that it had been taken ten hours over the 72 hours within which the test is supposed to be taken. At the border, while still in line for an immigration officer, I was taken out of the line by a Canadian official for having an expired test. The driver had gone out of his way to get Canada Immigration to stop me at the border. He was old with a slight beard and was driving schedule GLI1436 on 3/10/22. I had a remarkably unpleasant customer service experience today with Greyhound. Their ineptitude and unwillingness to assist was actually shocking. First, I gave them a call from aboard the Amtrak, trying to get information about a bus that left in a very short time frame. My ride had broken down and I needed to find an alternate way to a city a couple hours away from Seattle. The woman who answered the phone from their customer service call center was barely coherent and very unhelpful. I asked if she could hold the last ticket for me - I saw there was one left online - she said no. I asked if I could buy it over the phone, she said no. I let her know the website wasn't letting me buy it online and asked if I would be able to buy it at the station and she said yes. I told her I'd be right there to pick it up and that it would be close to departure but I'd make it. She said nothing about being unable to sell tickets after a certain time. I ran off the train with all my bags, hopped in a cab, and amazingly made it to the Seattle Greyhound station with three minutes to spare. I got to the desk, explained I had just called and I needed to buy that ticket, and she said they can't sell tickets within 10 minutes of the departure time. I asked if there was a seat left and she said yes, but that she can't sell a ticket and pointed to a sign about this rule. GREAT. After swallowing my vitriol, I said I'd buy a ticket for the next bus. The price suddenly shot up $15 from what I had seen online. I ask about this, she says it's the online-only price. "Would you be willing to match that price given my current inconvenience?" Nope, they can't do that. I got on their WiFi to buy the ticket online, and it didn't work. I ended up having a family member buy it online for me. Thanks for everything, Greyhound! It's been real... aggravating. read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Dangerous area with absolutely no security for riders. If you take a bus when the lobby isn't open, you will be standing in the parking lot waiting - not something they tell you when you book. Not to mention my bus was over 20 minutes late. The Seattle Greyhound station is new but it's in a horrible location and it's way to small for the amount of people that use it. Greyhound need to work with the City of Seattle and move their station into King Street Station ((with Amtrak) or move into Union Station. I would not travel on Greyhound unless you are truly desperate. I am on my honeymoon and was trying to get from Whidbey Island, WA, to Vancouver, BC, by way of the Everett, WA, bus station. We were an hour early for our 6:35 p.m. bus. We waited and waited, then began calling -- the web site eventually showed a 7:18 p.m. arrival in Everett, but no sign of the bus. At about 7:30 multiple customer service reps said the bus was still at this Seattle location an hour away. At 8:15 p.m., with it getting dark (the Everett bus station is in the middle of nowhere), and needing to catch a flight the next morning, we decided the best/only option was taking an Uber up to Vancouver -- it cost $200. The web site showed the bus eventually left Seattle at 9:03 p.m., 3 1/2 hours after it was supposed to leave. (As of the next day, it still showed a 7:18 p.m. arrival in Everett and I have no idea if it ever came.) The best customer service could do for the $200 I am out plus the hours we spent waiting and on the phone with customer service was the bare minimum of refunding the cost of the original tickets that we didn't use. I am surprised/disappointed a company that's been around 100 years couldn't do better than this, in all areas. read more
